  11. Speaking of which - It will be really interesting to see how the prices are affected now that there are 3 units (GOOD units) units on the market - Also it'll be interesting to see which of the units offer a 2-pin cutter. A good Number of Tandem containers and even sport containers use a 2-pin system, I think It'll be necessary if they want to compete... =========Shaun ==========
  12. I'm kinda in the same boat - but then I called the people I wanted to go out with, and I came to the conclusion that they are losers too... So I'm happy.
  13. Jump # 426 - I did a Hop N' Pop from 2,300' with a snively sabre2 150 - one it opened (at about 1,400' I had one side in tension knots and the slider locked up about 1/2 up. I pumped on the risers a few times, and when I realized I really didn't have much time to dick around - I had a nice stable cutaway and landed my tempo150 safely. in retrospect - maybe if I would have built up some more speed before tossing It may have helped the problem, but then again when You get out at 2,300', you really don't have too many choices. =========Shaun ==========
  14. Anyone going to be there? I called the DZO and He'll have the caravan there that weekend - Any DZ.comers locals to Skydive Mesquite? =========Shaun ==========
  15. DING DING DING DING Ladies & gentlemen - we have a winner!!!! =========Shaun ==========
  16. I don't have too many "stupid whuffo question" responses even though I get asked them everyday. What happens if your parachute doesn't open? Is probably the most irritation question - but much less irritating if Asked by a cute girl. You have the rest of your life to solve the problem. Is a fun response, but they usually don't get it. A thoughtless question usually warrants a thoughtless answer. But then again, if we want to promote our sport and see it grow - we can't snap back at every whuffo out there. =========Shaun ==========
  17. The weather is well below freezing and I'm just chillin' at home watching the History channel - I'm calling around trying to set something up for tomorrow night, but so far no such luck. Just a mellow night - I may even study.
  18. that fight would have been kind of cool to see.... =========Shaun ==========
  19. That doesn't seem like a healthy website - granted, when you break up, there is a good chance that you are not your ex's favorite person in the world at that time - but it's a big sign of emotional maturity if you can move on. Although in the first week of the break up you could have a lot of fun with that site... =========Shaun ==========
  20. That's the thing I really like about being a guy - I can just go when/where I want. I usually close the door if people are around, but if not It's usually wide open. At the Dropzone I usually relieve myself in a bush - I try to make it secluded but that never really happens. Meh, Don't care. =========Shaun ==========
  21. Nagging SO's give me the worst headache, but since I've been single for a while - I've forgotten the sting.
  22. Thanks Gary - that was a really good read. My favorite part about your article was the advice you gave to experienced Skydivers to make their sport better for them and for the community as a whole. One thing I would like to personally see is Skydivers actively promoting their sport on the civic level. Citizens have a stereotype of us, and a good, sober handshake can do wonders! Tell business owners you are a skydiver and how much you appreciate their business when you travel to jump. Little things jumpers can do add up. A good read - Thanks again Gary. =========Shaun ==========
  23. I'm going to keep my eyes on this one carefully. Our city passed a bill similar to this when a bunch of high school kids got the $$ together to build a BMX park in the city park. I've head a lot of stories of Dropzones being tossed off the airport because the city gets cold feet in regards to the Risks of having skydivers. this bill is a step in the right direction. =========Shaun ==========
  24. I'd set up a dropzone - a good club dropzone. When I crunch the numbers, it's not impossible if you have the initial $$. Baby Turbine and a venerable C-182 for the slower weekdays. I'd put money into advertising, get plenty of students, and divide the instructing evenly between competent club members. If you want to come and throw tandems, come on out. If you want to Fun jump, buy plenty of lift tickets. A couple million should get a good start. Maybe I'd even buy a nice King-Air 200 T-Tail for the boogie circut - beef that baby up and challenge Mullins...
  25. Coke. Real coke. Not that pussy stuff with no sugar or caffeine. =========Shaun ==========
