I don't know why, but... All of a sudden, I have a huge desire to buy a pair of those boots or perhaps one of those safety vests. Weird feeling. =========Shaun ==========

I am having a hard time locating any dropzones that use a 206U, Caravan, Twin Otter, Pac, or tailgate that train students on the static line Method. I'm not wanting to get into a discussion on which method is better (Hence this thread not being in the Instructor's Forum), but I would be really interested in finding some photographs on Student, (Not military) Static line exits from a non C-182 platform. I appreciate it. It is helping me in some of my pet-research projects in aircraft economic analysis and the feasibility of smaller, club style dropzones training students with more advanced aircraft. *Edited for grammar and to clarify a few points =========Shaun ==========

I think foreign chics are hot. Sometimes I think a lot of them just have so much more character than the girls I grew up with, and that's hot. =========Shaun ==========

Good one. Ya got me. =========Shaun ==========

I was cruizing a Russian Mail Order Bride website just for the hell of it. A lot of hot looking Russian Girls, and I would marry a European or Russian Girl in a heart beat if the right one came along, but I would never pay an agency to ship one in for me. I guess I'm too traditional for that.. =========Shaun ==========

Oh. Okay. I don't swing that way, but you know it's 100% cool. =========Shaun ==========

REALLY!?!?!? Sweet! is she hot? =========Shaun ==========

Yeah yeah I choose that one too. =========Shaun ==========

I doubt it'll be any better. Unfortunately, the vast majority of PS2 and PS3 games really haven't impressed me much. =========Shaun ==========

It makes sense to me. Kansas is much the same way, and we don't have the Mormons running our state. The government, concerned about thinks like teenaged drinking, drunk driving, and alcoholism, in their best interest they are trying to somewhat control it's distribution to the public. I think Shotgun has a lot of good points, and I'm not sure why you are even bringing the Mormons into this. Once again, in Kansas, not long ago we had war on capital hill when people wanted to start selling booze on Sunday. You still can't in Riley county, that is just what the local governments, trying to act in the best interests of it's people, are trying to do. =========Shaun ==========

I agree. I've lived in Utah for years, and I've been with many drinking friends and to many bars. "Mild inconvenience" is the best description to the rest of us for a solution that seems to be working... =========Shaun ==========

So, what do you recommend? Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming, while increasingly diverse, are still very predominantly LDS areas. Not electing them to those position because they are LDS would be discrimination. =========Shaun ==========

I had a nasty one and I put it under the front seat of my girlfriend's dad's front seat in his new truck. I was proud of myself.

I can remember a few good boogies unique to this part of the midwest that sadly have been discontinued... Mullins Boogie - Skydive Wichita - Sure, Mullins is still zipping around, but since skydive Wichita closed a few years back, it's never been the same. Hog roasts, back to back loads, helecopter jumps, good friends, this was a good one. Skyvan Boogie - Yeah, it took 40 minutes to 13,500, but since Harry Barr (Spelling?) sold his old dog of a skyvan, Nebraska Boogies have never been the same. We miss you, Harry. =========Shaun ==========

In good DZ.com tradition, at the start of the Semester let's hear from all the College, Graduate, Community College, and any other students. What is your semester looking like - will you have time to jump? Here is my Schedule. I'm a Junior in Industrial Engineering. 1. Engineering Physics II. (Weed out class that I've put off) 2.Operations Research II (Hard one, but really useful 3. Stats for Engineers & Scientists II (I like stats) 4. Management concepts (Seems easy enough) 5. Orchestra Should be a relatively do-able semester. I'll have a lot of homework, but I should stay busy with jumping, instructing and rigging without a problem. So - students, what classes are you all taking? =========Shaun ==========

I watched that - It was a really touching video. It amazing how an aircraft especially, can take on such a personality and almost become a living being in it's own sense.... =========Shaun ==========

At first I was optimistic when I saw the Pac and Kodiak, but I'm not 100% sure how I feel now. A single Turbine Designed to get skydivers up, between 1.2 and 1.3 Million Dollars seems like a great Idea, but how much does it really do for the sport in getting us all up there? Maybe when a few of the bigger DZ's trickle them down in a few years, it'll be a hoot, but til then I'm afraid we'll be flying our trusty 182.

Oh, okay. I misunderstood your post and thought that you were saying selling the car was an over reaction. Yeah, I completely agree with you on that one. . =========Shaun ==========

I've dated dropzone girls and whuffo girls, and All I can say is that they both suck to some extent. Dropzone girls are a great way to lose enjoyment at my one place for refreshement, but then again they don't whine "You're not going to the Dropzone AGAIN, are you? I'm single now, so I'll take what I can get. =========Shaun ==========

I respectfully disagree. The article made it very clear that when she purchased the car for her son, it was a part of the deal. You drink, you lose the car. The kid knew that before he even got in the driver's seat. With that deal in place, how was this an over reaction? He broke the rules, and having a car is not a right guaranteed to high school students... =========Shaun ==========

USPA - Jan Meyer Impeachment??
Unstable replied to Thanatos340's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well Said, Martin. I know that Jan has been in defense of dropzones like yours for a long time, and I think that her removal would have longer reaching effects than most the people on this forum realize. I'll visit with Jesse this afternoon and see if he'll be willing to write a letter as well, I certainly know that I will. =========Shaun ========== -
Help me understand this.... Is Scientology a religion for everyone, or is it primarily for the economically privileged? That was my first impression, and for the most part I've never seen any traces of it here in middle-class Kansas. =========Shaun ==========

See, And I'd be okay with a week of WWII documentaries: As long as they are somewhat factual and well-done. What I don't have patience for is watching some redneck trying to describe what gremlins look like coming out of his woods after he's downed a mason jar of moonshine. =========Shaun ==========

Transformers was a big hit. Maybe you could transformerize a good dog name and name it Maximus-Prime!! That name is so fucking cool. =========Shaun ==========
