  1. I have around 150 jumps on an old CReW Canopy - I bought it as along with my First Rig. It is a PD 7-Cell that was modified extensivly. It wasn't a bad canopy to learn on, very forgiving and docile, but after a while, (about 15 jumps) i just got sick of it. I've had to learn to carve in with my front risers with low jump numbers just to get a decent flare out of the thing, and i GURANTEE you, you will be bored with in in 20 jumps. There is such a surplus of GREAT used canopies out there, especially the old Sabre Mark 1's, why would you buy an old CReW canopy (other than to do CReW ) ?? =========Shaun ==========
  2. Wow, this is all new to me too. I think that as a poor college kid, if i would have had to go through an AFF program, i would not have been able to become a skydiver. Thank god for Static line =========Shaun ==========
  3. Yeah, thats a damn fine fantasy. In real life however, i would be a little hesitant to just screw some chick who just pounced - god only knows what else she just pounced on. ...... =========Shaun ==========
  4. This movie is funny when a bunch of drunk skydivers are watching it saturday night after a long day of jumping. Um, thats about it. =========Shaun ==========
  5. That leaves me speechless... I wonder how long it took him to make that thing? =========Shaun ==========
  6. Lol I was About to say something there.......... =========Shaun ==========
  7. Only 2 chics at once????!?!?! Come on man, a good fantasy has a lot more than that. (or at least mine do) =========Shaun ==========
  8. Unstable

    Do you?

Absolutly!! I try to greet everybody new that walks in the door. Our DZ is a Club, not a business - anybody and everybody is welcome, and it is the club members responsibility to make sure that every person who walks throught that door is a part of our family. =========Shaun ==========
  9. 3:0 Our little 182 only had 4 hours on it left until the 100 hr & transponder Inspection, so we just flew loads to 5k all day on Saturday. I got 3 jumps in, nothing serious, just messing around on the step and doing hop n pops. Still great jumps though!!! =========Shaun ==========
  10. Dang Chris Man, you've been telling us all year you'll make the Next Mullins boogie - I'll have to meet you some other time then. =========Shaun ==========
  11. Took me 22. I could have gotten in Exactly 20, but Our club has a Policy where only the S&TA may conduct your check dive, i had to wait to schedule a time that would work for the both of us. =========Shaun ==========
  12. Hey, at least you HAD an otter to enjoy, even if it were for a little while. I jump at a Single Cessna DZ, mind you a totally KIck-ass single Cessna DZ, and the nearest turbine is over 4 hours away. =========Shaun ==========
  13. Check your messages, I too am looking for 2 more members for my 4-way team. Blue Skies, =========Shaun ==========
  14. The general test is to take the tail of the canopy and with your mouth, see how much air you can force through the material of the canopy. I currently have over 150 jumps on a leaky, old, f111 canopy, sucks doesn't it??? =========Shaun ==========
  15. If I'm going to be wearing my rig up to 4 hours on a given saturday, $100 for this comfort is nothing. Thanks for the advice, your the first person i've talked to who actually has used the spacer foam... sds =========Shaun ==========
  16. Well of course!!! If it's YOUR container fit to your body, your not going to grab a rig at random and have a fair evaluation for comfort. If a rig fits properly and is sized accordingly, this won't be a problem. =========Shaun ==========
  17. EVERYBODY, HIDE THE STUDENTS!!!!!!! UNSTABLE JUST GOT HIS COACH!!!!!!!!! Threw my first few students just this weekend!!!!!!!!! With this, I am MORE than happy to fund some beer......... =========Shaun ==========
  18. Lol i know man. thats why i'm saving the $ and just buying a Javelin...... =========Shaun ==========
  19. Wide Body Cessna 182 here. Just one of em - but for a College Club, and to have it PAID OFF, that says quite a lot. It would be a real challenge to upgrade, during the summer we fly that that 16 to 20 loads a day with three loads backed up at all times, but during the Winter we can bearly get 4 people and a pilot to keep it turning. I love our Airplane, i think Skydivers get an emotional attachment to their Home DZ's jumpship. I'm dependant on it. =========Shaun ==========
  20. Yeah i saw that - but what confuses me is that when SP first introduced the new material, their bullitin had stated that it was an option for the Odyssey only..... maybe i should give them a call later today and see whats up...... =========Shaun ==========
  21. Does anybody know if the Delux Spacer Foam Backpad is available as an option on the Javelin, or is it available on the Odyssey only? I'm finding several example of contradicting information about this online and on different dealer sites.... If any body has some info on this, i would really appreiciate it.... Blue ones, =========Shaun ==========
  22. I'm glad this was posted - I was going to ask this anyways...... I've seen a couple shirts that say "Still Plays with Parachutes" -- I think thats about as cool as it gets, where can i go to buy one??? I've checked most the gear dealers appareal sections, no luck........ =========Shaun ==========
  23. I wonder if that guy is related to our buddy scotty Lutz?????? =========Shaun ==========
  24. I think"XTream" sports and Skydiving are almost exact opposets. EXTream sport is high school yuppies with skateboards whos definition of "air time" is a 5-foot jump. I used to play a lot of paintball, it's the same thing - a lot of immature kids set the immage and eat it up. In my opinion, skydiving is a little more refined than these games. =========Shaun ==========
  25. When I asked my rigger this exact same question, he told me that a line over was caused by several factors, most of which aggiedave has given - but it is my understanding that proper quartering of the slider and ensuring that the slider is all the way to the grommets of the canopy is very critical in reducing the chance of experiencing a line over. =========Shaun ==========
