Great weekend!! I scored a 0:4:0 All four of my Dives were Coached RW with my S&TA, one with video (complements of KansasSkydiver) and one 9 point 3-way with myself, BCH7773, and KSJumper (our S&TA). They were great - I wish I could do RW like that more Often... BTW, BCH773 is pretty dang good flying formations - just wanted to share... =========Shaun ==========

I think that people that have this mindset only include a Small (Yet passionate and visible) Population of the lottery ticket buyers. I think that most people, like myself, realize that we arn't paying for the money we can win, we are just paying for entertainment. =========Shaun ==========

I have a Question in my mind that has been bugging me and I wanted to get a Poll here on DZ.com to see where the rest of the skydivers stand. The Question - Do you play the Lottery?? Do you do it for Fun, the Hope of Winning, Habbit, or some other reason? Any thoughts of insights you have to share with people about it? For Myself, I do Occasionally Play the Kansas Lottery. Being a Statistics Major, I know that I'm probably not going to see my $5 or so back again, but I think of it more as entertainment. I like to play around in my mind thinking about how I would spend the money If I won the JackPot - A nice Tour of all the Major DZ's and then Save the rest for School and Investments...... I had the same first impessions of the Spectre when I first demoed it. I probably have about 30 jumps on a Spectre 150, and there are sometimes I wish I had bought a Spectre150 instead of a Sabre2. I let my gear dealer talk me into it..... =========Shaun ==========

Brand Spanking New Racer 2K3, all the bells and whistles (stainless, articulates, custom embroidery, custom fit), Spanking New Matching Sabre2 150 and a New Reserve..... Our City (Manhattan Kansas) Tired to Pass a "Clean Indoor Air Act" that basically banned smoking in public resturants unless the Smoking and nonsmoking sections were on seperate ventalation systems. It was a great Idea, and Almost everybody was for it, except for the Bar Owners, and in a College town like ours, alcohol carries a big weight. It Failed, but We are trying it agian here in the near future! A real excitment!!

I had an awsome experience I wanted to share with everyone today!! Over at The Fort Riley Middle School, they hosted a big "Wellness Fair" to promote activities and interests in Elementary and Middle School Children. Well, Several of the Clubs at K-State were invited to setup displays and talk to the students about a certain activity. They had all sorts of groups there, from Roller Hockey, to Tae Kwon Do, the Military Police had drug awareness booths and activities and the Fire Dept brought out their big trucks and did fire Safety activities. A real great activity, very well planned out! Well, the Parachute club was asked to go and have a booth, and I was lucky enough to get to go and run it from 7:45 to 2:40. It went Great! I brought some pictures and magazines, my Rig, Altimeter, Jump Suit, the KSUPC End of Year Video (Courtousy of KansasSkydiver!!) and Misc. knicknacks out to the fair. It was a HIT!!! All the Kids wanted to try on my rig, and I organized them and "trained" them in pull procedures and had them all shout out the count "ARCH THOUSAND, TWO THOUSAND, THREE THOUSAND, FOUR THOUSAND, FIVE THOUSAND, CHECK!!!" They loved it - They asked some amazing questions and absolutly ate this stuff up!! I must have heard almost everyone of them say "I Can't Wait Until I'm 18 So I can Jump!!"
