  1. Watch out for the free-response bias and economic bias caused by this "polling" =========Shaun ==========
  2. I fall into that age range... Why? I think that it would look better for yourself if you would post a little bit more information about yourself and what you are doing... =========Shaun ==========
  3. What are you paying for rental gear per jump or per season?? That may help determine how quickly you want to buy your own rig once you are off student status... =========Shaun ==========
  4. Hmmmm, 0:0:0 I did nothing but study study study. I have two finals on Monday (Speech and Calc3) and one on Wednesday (Macroeconomics). Back to hitting the books. =========Shaun ==========

  6. My first Jump by far was my most expensive - it cost a total of $145 and Included gear rental for an entire semester, my first Static Line Jump, and the First Jump Class. After that, my most expensive was $60 from the C-130 at Rantoul. =========Shaun ==========
  7. I started off thinking that I would move to Freefly after I became really good on my belly. Well, almost 300 jumps now & I still a LONG way to go - I've probably got about another 1,500 jumps or so on my belly until I need to worry about flying on my ass or head... =========Shaun ==========
  8. True True True - I agree 110%, but sadly a lot of Single Cessna DZ's just don't have those resources available.... =========Shaun ==========
  9. Ouch, I've never had that pleasure, But I did have to pay a lower price for a superior product - New gear is fun to order!!
  10. This is just me, but to Require a Tandem as your first jump, Especially Since My DZ trains people on Static Line, is not a very practical way to train a skydiver and run a business. =========Shaun ==========
  11. Golly, I've beaten that game soo many times back in my middle school day - Thanks for the post - I'm going to go dig up my old Zork Manuals and Maps and go exploring for a couple of hours! =========Shaun ==========
  12. Kansas State University Parachute Club We've been around since 1967, and to my knowledge, we are the only College Parachute Club to not only Own our Own Aircraft, but our own DZ... You do not have to be in our Club or a KState student to jump here, open to all skydivers!
  13. This thread had great Value for Even Coaches and Instructors of Different Training Methods. Thanks for the post!!
  14. I created my DZ.com account the evening after my first 30-second delay jump where I was introduced to the Door Exit. Hence the Name, "Unstable" As for My avitar, I just like Ratbert a lot. He's funny.
  15. If we keep up this crazy parachuting stuff, they soon will be =========Shaun ==========
  16. With hyperinflation of gas prices like that, they'll come back down to around the national average in a matter of time. I'm thinking long run here.... =========Shaun ==========
  17. Also Remember that Gas prices are not as "Sticky" as are things like Hamburgers or services - =========Shaun ==========
  18. Gas really hasn't gone "up" in price - Look at the numbers - It's increased rather proportionatly with inflation over the last 30 years... I don't know what all the upsetness is about! =========Shaun ==========
  19. LOL I was going to go after this one until I read the rest of the stoy..... =========Shaun ==========
  20. I would (and Did) go for a 150 Main and a 150 Tempo Reserve - I kept them the same size because frankly, I'm not loading the Main or Reserve very heavily at all - and regardless of main canopy size, I would be using a 150 Reserve for my body weight.... =========Shaun ==========
  21. :: Here is what I did this weekend - Starting Friday Morning, I worked 22 hours straight, slept on the floor for two hours, took a shower, and worked for another 11 hours. Then I worked mother's day until about 5ish. =========Shaun ==========
  22. Agreed.... Cypres have been proven to work time and time again.... =========Shaun ==========
