With the Kung-Fu grip! And I went, "Uhhhhhhh." And the girl caressed me down.

I have taken Amtrak all the way across the country and recently to Chicago. As far as comfort, ease and all that, it is fine. But, you better be prepared to be delayed. If you do not have ALOT of flexiblity in your schedule, DO NOT take Amtrak. I was 6 hours late on an Amtrak trip that was only 13 hours long. Thought it was a fluke, but left on time out of Chicago coming home and was 5 hours late by the time I made it. Amtrak is the bottom of the barrel in train world and will get pushed to the back of the line at every junction and stop. YOU WILL NOT BE ON TIME.

What the heck are you holding in your mouth in your avatar? -
Well, I can say I definitely noticed you were gone. The Bonfire didn't have 500 "forwarded email" type posts a day.

Dishwasher.

I won!!! I kinda thought she would do me for winning or something, but you just get to try again.

His second post explained that he went to Airborne 30 years ago and was just asking because he told his wife that her mile times would qualify her. I agree it did sound a bit like he was asking in preperation to going.
-
Ummm.... No one is headed for Airborne school here. In fact, I think most in this thread have already been, including the original poster.
-
Gimme a break! You don't even have to come CLOSE to that kind of time. About 5% of all Airborne canidates can run the 2 miles in under 12 minutes.
-
In 1992, I actually had to go running at nights to stay in the shape I was in after AIT. I went from running my best 2 mile of 11:10 to being able to walk the formation runs. I also remember having to do one whole pull up to get into chow. One! And there were people who couldn't do that! I do recall some pretty good sessions in the pit though. But overall, I thought the PT standards were kind of a joke in Airborne School. Now R.I.P. was another story entirely!

So what are considered low and high readings? Extremely low? Extremely high?
-
What readings are used for general pressure readings and trends? What is high? What is low? Middle of the road? I am looking for readings inHg like 29.25, 30.00, 28.50......

Ah crap! That stinks! You will most definitely be missed greatly! Wish you and J could make it. I miss you guys! -
Your arms, body and legs are all leaning right. A little bit of each of those inputs will have drastic effects on the flight. It is really less about an even flare and more about keeping your canopy straight. Many times what a pilot will do is lean towards the turn and make it worse. It is a natural reaction, just like putting your hand out to catch yourself when falling. Resist that urge. Sometimes you may need to have a very "uneven" flare to keep your canopy flying straight. It can be because of body position, wind, or many other small factors. Think less about flaring even and more about flying the canopy to the ground. Obviously you want an even flare, but I am talking about once the canopy starts to drift. You have the control, use it. Think about if a pilot just aimed the plane at the ground, flared, and made no further corrections. Never stop flying. When you feel it drifting, correct with a little opposite input. Avoid the natural reaction to go with the turn.

Typical comeback for someone with nothing to back their shit up. Well, your team is sucky.... good one!

Big friggin deal. I don't care if they put Terry Bradshaw in to QB. The Jets offensive line and defense won that game. Vinny threw 13 completions with no TDs and one interception. Whoopdie Doo.
