  1. Again, I am NOT arguing about what the largest formation record is or how amazing of an accomplishment it is. I am just curious what people think about the differences in difficulty of setting records from varying exit altitudes. I agree, but a 400-way from 15,000 is vitually impossible, so they offset.
  2. My point is that you should check out your sources, because there is absolutley no way that there is a big enough difference in "how much air" and "how much control" jumpers have to use between 18,000 and 20,000 feet where it would make building a formation harder or easier. If they were having trouble building a formation from 20,000 feet and thought by moving it down to 18,000 feet made the difference, then your source is pretty unreliable. I wasn't trying to be rude, I am just saying you might want to be careful when passing along information like this when you don't know it to be true. I could have skipped the "fumble" comment, so for that I apologize. I believe the word you want is "funnel" though.
  3. Well shoot, I didn't think about it "fumbling." You might want to do a little more research and gain a bit more knowledge before you post information like this. And I would definitely check your "reliable source."
  4. Oh, I agree it certainly matters in that context. More altitude gives you more working time. I meant it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things to me.
  5. I am sure it will be a bit higher break off, but not almost 5,000 feet higher. Again, I am not arguing that putting 400 people together in freefall is anything but absolutley amazing. This has nothing to do with whether or not a 400-way from 25,000 feet will be a world record or whether it is an outstanding accomplishement. I am just saying that there is a huge difference from one record to another, based on exit altitudes and use of planes, which makes me wonder if the records are comparing apples to apples. Does it really matter? Nope. Just wondering what people think of putting limits on certain formation records now so there is more of a fair comparison.
  6. I read that the exit altitudes for the 400-way attempts may reach 25,000 feet. This got me thinking. Should there be a limit to altitude for records? Maybe a record for under 15,000 feet, under 20,000 feet, under 30,000 feet? I mean, I totally understand that the world record is for largest formation in freefall with no limit on altitude, but doesn't it seem like a 200-way from say, 15,000 feet, is a whole different record than a 400-way from 25,000 feet? I am not trying to debate whether the use of more altitude makes a 400-way any less amazing. I was just thinking about the difference in records and the difference in difficulty from under certain exit altitudes. Kinda like how turning points is judged on a set working time. Yes, I know that they are two entirely different things and the formation record is simply, most people in a formation with no limits, so please don't argue that point. But just like you cannot really compare turning 15 points in 35 seconds to turning 25 points in 60 seconds, isn't it also hard to compare one formation built from 15,000 feet to one built from 20,000 feet and so on? Just curious what other people think.
  7. No, I swear it hasn't! My brother went with his cousin to do a tandem skysurfing jump but backed out at the last minute. It was a good thing to, cuz he decided to go taking pictures of the wildlife near the parachute fall zone, and just happened to get this shot. Lucky stuff to say the least! Or was it my cousin's brother? No matter! It's an original photo for sure!
  8. Well, apparently we would have had atleast one more posting of that picture! And just when I thought it had been beaten into the ground.
  9. I don't think as many people would have opened it up though if I had. That is why I didn't name it that.
  10. Please tell me you didn't seriously think you were actually proving I stole the picture??
  11. Uh, yeah.... I know... The airspace is clear. Where did I say anything contrary to me being responsible? I start my swoop at 600'. Someone flying straight in on their final leg is below 50' as they prepare to land. Therefore they are below me. I'm flying perpendicular to the landing direction as I set up for a 270. The jumper below is naturally going to be moving away from me, unless I learn to fly my canopy sideways. Unless their canopy is hooked up backwards, they will be facing away from me. Are you saying two jumpers 50 - 100' apart, cannot land in the same direction, at the same time? Please explain the huge mistake - I seriously don't see it. I really hope you can get with a coach who can explain this to you. If you are starting your 270 knowing that there are going to be people on final below you and your intention is to land with them, you are an accident waiting to happen. Sure, you can see them, but they can't see you. People don't always do what you are expecting them to. If you don't see it as a mistake, that's fine. But I really think it is something you should think more about. You only swoop when things are perfect. You only do a high performance turn when you have clear airspace for the entire turn and to landing. Having people on final or approaching final when you start your turn or are finishing it, is not clear airspace. Sometimes finding the clear airspace to swoop can be almost impossible. If so, it's simple... you don't swoop. It's a pain. We have to pull high, ride around in brakes, wait for everyone to land, pick a place to fit in with other swoopers, get clear airspace and then execute a safe turn to land. Yup, it's a pain, but that is the small price we have to pay. Starting a turn when you see traffic that will be below and in front of you is downright dangerous no matter how aware you are. Shit happens. People mess up, YOU might mess up. Please, please, just take a step back and think about it.
  12. I passed 8 people with L.L.S. on my way home from work!
  13. Probably because it's the only sex you ever have. rl if you where the only girl in the world, and i was the only boy.... it'd still be the only sex i'd ever have Damn straight. I guess you should thank him for making your point again.
  14. I second that burrrrrrnnnnn!!! Oh come now, ladies. I am sure, way back in the side streets, there are fat man/woman hookers who gladly let him slip it in their ass for a minute or two for a few bucks. Even he can get laid.
  15. Yes, I would say it applies. It is like the moving walkway in the airport. If you aren't passing someone, just stay right so the left can be used for faster traffic.
  16. Well shucks, girls! I feel so loved!
  17. Not unless you consider a 40 year old, bald, overweight dude to be hot. But yes, if the teacher was a hot woman, I probably would have excelled!
  18. I am married, and I don't like hearing about it. I don't need to know, can't do anything about it, don't wanna hear it. I hate the commercials that deal with that crap too! Especially feminine itching and odor!!
  19. But, but, it's Christmas..... Can you post again so I don't have to look for them? Pweeeeeez??
