Inexpensive/simple set up for titler and mixer
ccowden replied to ccowden's topic in Photography and Video
Exactly. I am talking about a quick, inexpensive system to do maybe 100 tandem videos a year. Simple, simple editing. -
Inexpensive/simple set up for titler and mixer
ccowden replied to ccowden's topic in Photography and Video
Any suggestions for a simple and cheaper way to set up for doing simple editing and mixing? Just need to be able to put music and titles on. If you have model names of a unit, it will really help. Do they make something that is all in one that is just for editing onto VHS? I looked at the Sony RME 700 units but don't know if they would work. Don't know anything about them. But they are cheap. -
I guess I misread your question a bit. Sorry. I am just a little touchy about the whole canopy prgression thing when I think someone wants to downsize before they have really mastered their current canopy. Losing a friend will do that to ya. It's not an excuse, just am explanation. I do apologize.

You want to load a 79 at 2.2 and you are still questioning whether you are quite ready to downsize??? If you think jumping a Velocity 84 is going to make up your mind, then you are on the wrong track. What you can do under your current canopy should make that decision, and I find it hard to believe you have mastered your 85 with statements like this: "as I am not sure if I want to increase my wingloading I figure comparing the same size (1' difference) would make up my mind if I was ready to downsize to a 79 (the next size down).. or if I was biting off more than I care to chew every jump...... I would like to optimise my wingloading for swooping, but dont want a canopy that scares the shit outta me on every dive...." Stay on your 85 for another 500 jumps. Maybe never downsize. 2.06 is pretty optimal.

How much did you spend in 2004 on skydiving
ccowden replied to reddevil1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
you got some poor suckers to PAY for your jumps?! hahaahahhaha.... oh... wait a second.... Yup, once in a great while, I will find some real suckers to take advantage of! So.... you are gonna have me back right?? Truthfully though, very few of my jumps are actual paid coaching jumps. I make my money by doing tandems and tandem videos. (about 175 a year) -
Ohhhhhhh "sleeping" suuuuure!

Who Are Your Skydiving Heroes/Mentors?
ccowden replied to skykittykat's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Most people know who my heros are. (see pic) I don't know if "heros" is the right word exactly, but they are definitely my inspiration. Jen, Amy and Missy changed my view on the sport forever and I look up to them and admire them for both their talents and who they are as people. And neither "hero" or "mentor" is a big enough word for Tommy. He was and continues to be a hero, mentor, inspiration and so much more to me everyday. But ALL of my friends are my heros in some way. You all fill my life with so much and inspire me daily. Thank you all! -
Well good. Seems I am not the only one. Not that I go around looking at girl's butts! I am saying if I just happen to notice.

While most girls will do anything possible to not have panty lines, I have to admit that I personally like to see them on a girl with a nice figure. I got into an argument with a couple girls who said there was NO way that guys liked to see panty lines. Am I the only one? Now don't get me wrong, I love thongs, but I also like a bikini type panty on a girl too. And I kinda like to see the lines through her pants. I also like to see a thong through her pants as well. Like when the pants are a light color and the thong is dark. I am not talking slutty. I think it can be done tastefully. Does anyone else feel the same or am I one of a kind?

Don't really consider myself to be a conniseur, but I do like wine and I do drink my share. I am fond of a nice Pinot Noir. I like most Merlots as well. Wanna drink some wine with me weege?

I have normally stayed at the Red Carpet Inn when I go to Xkeys and it is ok, but I was wondering if there was a better choice. Does anyone know if there is something more along the Holiday Inn lines near the DZ?

Anyone get one of these? I can't get mine to play a file. Everything seems to be working. I highlight the file and press 'play' and it just sits there flashing the 'pause' icon. Any clues? The users guide is crap.
