  2. I can't open that one: Subject: Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Data - Report r539cy Warning: Prepare fails (E [SQLSTATE=42 000 SQLCODE=-201]) in /web/htdocs/unemploy/wkclaims/report.asp on line 42
  3. With a much improved and improving economy, your argument won't hold up for you or Mr. Kerry. http://www.gopusa.com/news/2004/april/0405_onemillion_jobs_created.shtml Bush must have done something right to stimulate the economy. That's why, he's got to find something else to complain about. Like his anti-American stance on the war. He's at least consistent on that point, however. That's a plus. He was a war protester back then and he's still one now. Can't say that for much else that he claims to stand for. Where he stands depends soley on who he's bullshitting to at the time.
  4. You just, almost verbatum, made his point. Parrot: "polly want a cracker".....AWWK!!!"
  5. Nice try on a hit Billvon but do you really think that's just a "right wing" thing?
  6. I'm not under any circumstances.
  7. Liberal policy: Cater to the uneducated and impressionable masses. Hell, lying is almost expected within their ranks. It looks good on their resume.
  8. Damn right. My finger is my safety. Simplicity is a beautiful thing.
  9. I watched the whole thing and he said that he was sure he'd made some mistakes but that he couldn't think of a particular one at that time. I didn't just make that up. What they’re looking for is something that they can use to primarily pin 9-11 on Bush. It’s wrong, illogical, baseless, and partisan. I'm hoping that the majority of educated Americans can see through that. Of course he made mistakes. So did Clinton. So has every president before them. What does that change?
  10. That's some nice fictitious, baseless, inflammatory, bullshit.
  11. Why do you think he didn't start listing mistakes during the news conference? Do you think they might not be playing on Democrat commercials all over the place right now? He's not as dumb as you think. That's a trap Billvon. Surely, you can see that. He did, like you said, say that he's made mistakes. He just didn't give them what they were looking for. I wouldn't.
  12. Sure he's made mistakes Billvon, but this isn't about finding out what was wrong so that we can fix it. It's about the left getting Bush out of office. Making him appologize for 9-11, which he shouldn't have to do IMO, gives the left a big stick that they can shake at the Republicans. This shouldn't be a left or right issue. Bush isn't personally responsible for what happened and he responded appropriately to it. I really hate what this has turned into.
  13. The security situation really depends on where you are. Kabul isn’t the only place I would consider “secure” within Afghanistan. I worked personally with several of those warlords you mentioned. You’re correct in that the central gov’t hasn’t gained control the way it should throughout the country. That will take time. It doesn’t mean, however with some of the warlords in control of their areas, that this is necessarily adding to the chaos and suffering of the people. That is not always the case. Some of the warlords actually have the welfare of the local people in mind and take care of the communities. In response to 9-11, my mission, generally speaking, was to capture/kill Al-Qaida forces, deny them sanctuary within Afghanistan, and to deny them mobility within Afghanistan. We did that. Al-Qaida can’t use Afghanistan as a base of operations anymore. Maybe they can and have moved somewhere else but it’s no longer “cool” to be a terrorist in Afghanistan. They don’t have freedom of movement and definitely don’t consider Afghanistan a safe place to be anymore. We’ve pummeled their forces (speaking of Taliban, Al-Qaida, and other affiliated terrorist groups in and around that region), have got them continuously on the run and on their heels (like when you step on an ant hill), and they are constantly having to look over their shoulders before they do anything because they know we’re after them. That’s why there are small pockets of resistance of Taliban that you mentioned. It doesn’t mean that they are taking back over. Kind of like the situation in Iraq. You’ve got to see the big picture and not just isolated incidents that you might see on CNN. You’re right about their culture in reference to women and drug trafficking as a means of income. It’s very hard to change the way people think and that takes a lot of time. It shouldn’t be expected that it will happen overnight. Major steps are being taken in the right direction, however. I guess you can look at all the negatives, there are those in any effort, and continue to be a non-supporter of your country’s cause or you can step up to the plate, take the good stuff, and move forward. I feel a great sense of accomplishment in what we’ve done and am very proud of the way my country responded to being attacked. It might not have been that way under a different administration as was demonstrated from prior attacks. Despite the weakness of much of our populations, the USA and Great Britain will not lie down and take the kind of shit that other countries do. It makes me very proud. In reference to the UN threatening to back out, does that surprise you? I would expect nothing less from a spineless, weak, ineffective organization. I’ve also been forced to work under their flag so I have experience.
  14. You were the one proclaiming her insanity (or a degree thereof). You could make your argument for “not being in the right state of mind” as an excuse for committing lots of crimes. At some point, people have got to be held accountable for their actions. I’d be ok with the judge enforcing the law. If he has leeway to reduce sentence and he/she feels that is appropriate for the situation, I’m ok with that. I’ve broken the law before. There have been some things that I’ve done where I should have been caught and put in jail. If I’d been caught, I would have expected that. If you’re going to break the law, you’d better be aware of the consequences. Of course, there are laws that, when broken, don’t require jail time. Looks like what she’s accused of, however, carries up to nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine per count. I didn’t make that up. It’s the law.
  15. I’m certainly not a psychiatrist. Is there one that’s saying that she is, in fact, insane and, therefore, might not be responsible for her illegal actions? We make the distinction of whether you go to jail or not based on the laws that we have established. It does the public good because it establishes and enforces limits to behavior that we deem to be against the public good. It demonstrates to others that you can’t just get away with doing shit like that. It’s called the law. You’ve got to follow it or you might go to jail.
  16. I hate when they do that. It's only the bad stuff that people remember most.
  17. There goes the whole "the criminal is really the victim" defense. She's sane, she knew what she was doing, she broke the law, and now she's got to take responsibility for it and pay a price. You've got to follow the law. You don't "just" go to jail "if you kill somebody."
  18. I find it very informative and entertaining.

  21. "He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666." Revelation 13:16-18
  22. When I was in Afghanistan, I read a book about Islam to gain a better perspective. It was very interesting. Not that I agree with or accept Islam but what I read concerning the faith makes it hard for me to see justification for the extremists that we see performing terrorist acts around the world. Maybe it was just that book but it made it seem like it was, as you said, about “surrendering to God and peace.
  23. I had to look back to make sure but, did I call you a name? Or did I just hit a hot button? Certainly I wouldn’t call you or anyone else something like a “stinky poo poo head.” I can do much better than that. http://www.kdp.pp.se/chemical.html Clark even said that they had the capability to develop more and that they were a threat.
