    One quick clarification: Shoulder level turns will produce radically different results based on canopy type and brake settings. "Gentle turns that do not significantly alter the roll and pitch of the wing" would be a better way to say it INHO, albeit long-winded. Then again, if you are flying a wing that does react radically to small inputs, I hope you already know this.

    I watched a jumper make a landing into one of our restricted fields Sunday, and behind a small hill it looked to be a rough landing. I ran out to check on her, and her reasoning was that she couldn't safely make the designated landing area. She was safe, all was well, end of discussion. Yours as well. You are ok, so is everyone else. Not ideal, and as others have said to plan your landings a little better, but you lived, hopefully you learned, and you will take this knowledge with you.

    It's trick OR treat. While many tricks are legally considered vandalism, where the vandals aren't caught you're stuck cleaning up the mess. Got a paintball gun? Hang out in your bedroom window and have some fun if they come back.

    Go see the doc. Have them check for leg length discrepancies. Options may be as simple as PT/osteopathic/chiropractic adjustments, to possible orthotics, or worst case something wrong related t the hardware from the surgery. Anyway you look at it, with a history of the surgery I would get it checked out.

    Nope. Still healthy. Have gotten seasonal flu vaccine. Not getting H1N1 vaccine. Pretty much wearing this respiratory isolation mask permanently around my clinic. And DD, yesterday was the first of many 15 hours days I am afraid.

    Out of 36 patients yesterday I had 6 +ve Type A. I have not yet seen a Seasonal type A come back yet so presuming H1N1 until my confirmation testing comes back. Multiple other with suspected flu and due to the virulence of H1N1 in healthy populations a lot of initial treatment is leaning towards flu, despite not being in the traditional "high risk" populations. /I HATE flu season.

    Sooo, next jumping weekend will be my 1000th. I have not really be to freefall except filming a 4 way team in the last 200 jumps or so, just all canopy work. Give me some ideas for something stupid.

    Also, try flying camera for a new team that has not trained together and is getting into it vs flying for a team that has a seasoned competitor or two and "several" training jumps together. One falls mainly straight down while the other well....keeps the camera guy entertained. /love my team and hope they keep going this coming year and not trade me off

    This movie is absolutely hilarious John, and also can be considered a documentary as to why I have no been to Vegas yet in my life. I know myself, and I know better. As someone else said, if you expect a great message, other than "dude, we got drunk and some crazy shit happened"....you're gonna be disappointed.

    why wear anything that is your favorite, other than your favorite xxxxx while skydiving I wear my favorite parachute. I got dirt in my boxers on landing once. Did a superman on landing at Dublin and didn't have enough flare to stand back up, so I slid in on my face....dirt in my pants too. All in good fun.
