Around here several years ago the police starting using frequencies that are not on new scanners. If you have an old one you may still listen to them. "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"

It is called an "echo chamber". Some people think it is cool. I remember back in the seventy's when anything over four watts was illegal. We used to picture the FCC riding around in vans looking for illegal high power broadcasters that were intefering with television signals. Anybody remember moon rakers? I had a set. "Don't! Get! Are you a technician? I can tell you those wires are very small but they are certainly splicable. Or is it spliceable? I dunno, you will then run into problems with impedance mismatch ie, the apple ear buds will be a different resistance than your headphones. It will still work just probably not as well as a headphone that is made to work with the unit. That is my $0.02. "Don't! Get! Eliminated!"

I never would have gone if it weren't for peer pressure. Once I did it I was hooked but I needed that little "kick" to get started. Meh. "Don't! Get! Eliminated!" -
