  1. finish this mug of green tea I made myself in an effort to be more healthy and cut back on caffeine. sheesh its disgusting stuff but I'm not 'allowed' another coffee til i finish it. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  2. what impressed me is how even though their containers all appeared to be rigged up with static lines, none of them were attached to the plane and then as they exited, they all seemed to have normal rigs on. They must have had a spare supply of rigs on the plane in case of emergency procedures that they could quickly get changed into. Perhaps thats also why they didn't do their leg straps up properly etc before they got on the plane. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  3. yeah I watched it last night too and it was attrocious. which dz was it filmed at? ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

Generally speaking, dropzones in the UK are pretty quiet during the week, you get students and tandems there, but not a lot of fun jumpers due to the horrible 'w' word (work ). Plus there aren't actually any dz's in London, you need to travel outside to visit one. There are a few people who have posted on here that jump at the various nearer-London dz's (Hinton, Headcorn, Chatteris, Netheravon, Sibson)- they can probably give you better advice on what goes on at those specific dropzones during the week. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

not yet but its not too far away... currently in the ratings battle for the weekend weather, in first place we have Headcorn followed by Netheravon with Chatteris currently in last place. But theres still another 2.5 days to decide! To be fair, none of them are looking hugely promising ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  12. I see what you mean about not being able to give them away! How come you've got so many free tickets anyway? ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

Thanks Vicki I may well come to Netheravon! I shall keep an eye out on the weather for all three dz's and pick the one with the best forecast! The good news is that now I've got my FS1 my body position has been improved somewhat, so you might not need to wear so much lead to keep up with me! I'm still fast though. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

Well happy birthday for Sunday. I might possibly come to Headcorn this weekend, is there a membership fee there? The weather is currently looking a little better for Chatteris, but I shall monitor it, and if it looks better at Headcorn I'll go there instead! ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

I very nearly went to Headcorn yesterday - but ended up staying in Chatteris. What was the jumping like there? Get many lifts in? Most of the afternoon was pretty crappy up where I was. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
  19. Personally I think that the better team did win. After we scored the first goal we sat back and spent most of the rest of the game in our own half. We looked knackered and they looked physically stronger than us for most of the match. I think most people here are just upset about the circumstances of us losing though. Despite them playing better than us and some extremely biased refereeing, we managed to get a crucial goal right at the end of the game to have it disallowed. The decision was attrocious because the ref was no-where near the incident and couldn't have had a decent view, and even the lino (I apologise, Referees Assistant) gave the goal. So after a weak decision from the bastard in black (who incidentally is Swiss and we beat them 3-0 last week - coincidence?) we ended up doing extra time and then having to go for the lottery that is penalties which we ultimately lost. But hey thats football I suppose, we should all be used to biased refereeing and shocking decision making by now. Never mind though, its only another 2 years til the World Cup where we can try again. Anyway, rant over, its very nearly the weekend (1.5hrs left to go at work - woo!) then I'm going to go and jump and take my mind off it. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

Ah, hello then Craig P! Well the Wetherspoons in Charing Cross Road sounds a good a place as any to me to start at. We can carry on with some kind of tradition then! I can be there from about 6-6.15ish. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

Tuesday 20th July sounds good to me. And as no-one else has stepped up willing to be the 'secretary of the London Jump Club' (nice title by the way Legend, I think I might put it on my CV - should raise a few eyebrows!) I suppose I should temporarily take command unless anyone else really wants to. If anyone wants to come please PM me your email address and I will put together a list of addresses to confirm things nearer the time. anyone else got suggestions of pubs that are central but not touristy that we can add to the pub crawl list? ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~

good suggestion! how about some of the little backstreet pubs round Soho (no, not that part of Soho!) theres some really nice ones round that way that are off the beaten tourist track and aren't so busy. ~~~ London Skydivers ~~~
