    Actually I was trying to stir up trouble from the weenies who blamed all the gas problems on Bush and the oil companies......"the end of the world" folks. I wish though that we could have a real national debate on getting off the oil wagon. The price is coming down but it will go back up. The real problem is that these spikes cause such a stir in our public mind, but go away as soon as the price comes down. We put a man on the moon, we could fix this problem if we really decided to. Think about, every president since Carter has said we need to end the dependency on imported oil. But NONE, Rep or Dem. has been able to get it done. I hate what high prices (I mean really high) would do to this country but it seems that is the only thing that will make us work on the problem.     During the recent hysteria about gas prices I wondered if gas would get back down below $1.99. I believe many predicted gas would stay above $3.00. Certainly the idea that it would fall below $2.00 would have been mocked by some. I believe that we will see gas at $1.85 within 8 months. Any takers? For what it's worth I wish we would keep acting like it was $5.00 a gallon. It's the only way we will keep working to get off being oil dependant. It's now at $2.04 across the street. So correct me here but what you were saying is: When you take a comment like "we saved your asses" and go to (basically) you Americans are unsensitive to our looses during WWII? Did WWII effect your countries "psyche" sure of course. Did it effect America's sure. I did a real fast google. America had approx 291,557 dead and 670,846 wounded. (One of the dead I am named after.) Yes, the president at the time did "drag us into the war" Perhaps he even broke the law. BUT it wasn't at the time, perhaps wrongly so, "our war". "Peace in our time" comes to mind. Treaties that England and France made - which btw the Americans didn't sign, comes to mind. War materials that we sent helped. The ships that del. supplies helped.
