  1. The job does have danger - no doubt. But in John's example many of the people who have more stressful "jobs" put themselves in that position by choices THEY make (poor choices)- LEO don't generally chose to have a shoot out with someone. It is part of the job but they will avoid it, whereas a pilot who stresses himself by flying in weather they are capable of chose to do it. 2. I know better to discuss with John his comments, I truly see John as a friend but this one is a little hard to swallow. Let's use pilots - as John is a pilot- John knows that pilots die by and large because of pilot error - nobody tries to kill them. A VFR pilot like myself flies into bad weather and loses control of the plane and dies. A fisher man goes out in very marginal weather and sinks. I don't see these as more stressful jobs because the person who dies makes the decision to take a chance - and pays for it. Now some might come back and say that the LEO "makes the decision" to do the job. He or she does but they AREN'T intentionally making a decision to put there life at risk. John knows also that pilots cover just about every mistake they can I honor that John served at a LEO 40 years ago (?) but it was a different world. I do believe that American LEO could learn from other countries though and England would be one. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

  4. That's the first really interesting thing I've heard in this thread - so in England they do have a bunch of armed officers? Is it like SWAT here? I'd like to understand how they are used - I'm being serious. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  5. So to follow this to it's end and then I'll lay low..... We can agree that they are dead. We may not agree that they could have been helped - but I lean to the idea that they could have been but weren't for political reasons. We both agree that their deaths have been used for political gain. One side gain by NOT trying to save them....a great big intense firefight would have been a lot harder to sell as just some locals that went nut's over a video. The other side gains by digging and digging and keeping it in the news. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  6. I get your point - but these four died for a political reason....not some drive by gang shooting. They possibly died because help wasn't sent for political reason (I absolutely say possibly because to me that hasn't been proven). H.C. doesn't have anything to do with drive by shootings but she did in this. I do like and believe what you stated about the severity of the lie. Bring up Bush "lie" to minimize the actions of others will be done for years..... Having said the above, I will vote and would vote for HC before I voted for DT..... 7. See I agree with you about Clinton and the BJ.....wished he had come clean earlier....but as my sister pointed out what man (or women for that matter) comes clean before he is truly caught? But I think when you look at the video lie by Clinton and she was telling her family one thing and the public another - and the talking heads - says that's just politics that's another thing. There was no doubt that it was a terrorist attack, and there is little doubt that the white house did NOT want that out right before the election. (I don't think it would have changed much) So they come up with this b.s. story. To me that's big. It is important that both sides don't lie to the American public. But all we do - and someone here will respond this way - is bring up something the other party did that was worse. They all suck, everyone needs to stop believing their side doesn't. 8. Not that it matters, been generally SkyDekker is someone with a different view point that I DO read cause many times he has enlighten post. But in this case I'd be interested in your answer. Do you care about the lies of only the "there team" while dismissing the lies of the home team? To me this has gotten to be the root problem with what we are going through. We all seem so ready to forget the total bullshit that the person we like. We have become a country of babies crying "But YOUR person is worse" They all suck. 9. Dude you have a high opinion of yourself, don't you? In my opinion - which you are free to disagree with because in general that's what you seem to need to do - Christian in forum discussion with a certain group here are lumped into a group (anti abortion, pro guns. Trump lovers) That's no different than certain hard right posters doing the same. Perhaps if you can't see THAT ...... you should read a little slower and get that big chip off you minority shoulder? Your reality is your perception, no different or better than mine. Relax. Maybe go jump. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  10. Right, you win. For what its worth I don't listen to Rush...he's a far right nut case....but apparently you listen often. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  11. And as far as I can tell abortion is still legal (good) civil rights are still in place (good) and the gay rights have finally started to get right (GREAT) So I'm proud to say it is and was and hopefully will remain "A "majority rules" country AND one where the constitution protects the minority from the "tyranny of the majority"?" The idea that we the people can't disagree and still get along with compromise is the issue. In my comments here I have largely supported separation of church and state, gay rights and abortion - yet the idea still stuck in several people head here that you can't be a Christian and have these views. The PRESS is what creates this IMO. If you don't go to church, hang around with people of faith than you are listening to the press (probably the side that most favors your position) or you are recalling from when you did go to church? The far right church goers and the far left atheist are the problems. Actually far right and far left people in general are just a big fat pain in the ass. If you fall in one of these groups - sorry but you all are fucking up a great country. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  12. Huh? Man are you reading anything I wrote? Where did I complain about anything that has been voted on? And through my comments I've made it clear you want something changed you get enough VOTES to change it. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  13. I don't know how to go link all the comments to one post but he's a few replies. #1 I used the example of "In God we trust" I didn't say I support it. In fact it isn't the end of the world to me like it is others. Anybody that knows anything knows when it was added. Currency changes. It was added - it can be deleted. #2 I don't know about the "tiny minority" being so criticized by Christians - or the majority but if they are the voting majority than while you are certainly willing to complain and work hard to convince voters that the other side is wrong - it's still a majority vote system. #3 As far as Ron and others - if you read half my post I'm not far right as other people you mention. I'm very middle of the road. Your or others belief or lack of belief does not effect me in the least. I feel no need to convert you. I believe you made a very good point. The minority in this case feels very, very put upon on any issue of confusion of religion and laws of the nation. Numerous times BUT NOT ALL THE TIME things change (12 commandments in Alabama being removed comes to mind) In a lot of countries that wouldn't have changed - given the majority of people being Christians here - but it DID change. A case where the minority was protected from the majority by our constitution. So while I am a Christian (flawed) I supported that action because you can't have it both ways. Either you support the constitution or not. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  14. Yeah I can understand that. I really don't care if you go to church or not. Frankly I don't know how anybody can do much of ANYTHING that has zero impact on others. Not sure that your beliefs don't impact me in some negative way that I would perceive as negative. In reality that's why we have elections. For example (I don't know your positions) You want to elect someone who absolutely will remove "In God we trust" I want to elect someone who will keep it. We have an election maybe you get what you want maybe I do. The founding fathers were pretty damn clear about the separation of church and state, (I'm for that) they were also pretty clear about 2 amendments rights. Laws that impact YOU negatively may be laws that I agree with AND the other way. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  15. You know what's funny is the people who try to really relate religious people to being perfect then it becomes "basically they only follow the rules of the bible they want to". Then we hear about how non-religious people follow their on set of rules - are we suppose to believe that these rules are followed perfectly?? Other than Normiss not being able to beer on Sunday
  16. Open question to the people here that really want to change gun ownership/laws in the USA. 1. What is your basic solution. 2. Does it remotely make any sense given America amount of guns, 2 amendment rights. ive stated my ideas before. I've asked others but the anti gun people here seem to be only interested in discussing how bad it is here. This isn't Enland or Austraila (sp?) what worked there won't work here most likely. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  17. I believe we are talking two different issues. The no fly list does have problems. IMO as a gun owner, gun user and advocate I believe we have problems with gun ownership in the USA. We won't ever keep bad people from getting and using guns but we can make it more difficult while not keeping law abiding citizens from buying and using guns. But it will take effort and the ability to be reasonable. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  18. Due process would or should take care of the reason that if your on a no fly list you shouldn't be able to buy a gun. Bottom line positions like this are why we have such a fucked up way of getting anything done. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  19. Naaaa Bill I got it. Perhaps YOU missed all the post (mainly on Facebook) deriding prayer and religion. The snarky comments about God or people of faith. But to your point, taken the way you presented it you are correct which I suspect was the main point of your post. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  20. This is what I get so frustrated with. Certainly we could all agree that better back ground checks would be good. If your on a no fly list, certainly we could agree that you shouldn't be able to buy a weapon. Certainly we all agree that demonstration of an ability to handle a weapon (NRA you could help here) would be a good idea? Actually we can't agree. We can't because we have allowed the far right and the far left to kill our ability to compromise. Before we KNOW anything the press and our political "leaders" are leading down the path of separation - it's how they keep their power. So sad. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  21. So less than 24 hrs after this happens the anti gun people have now established themselves as anti prayer. Odd. We really know very little yet this tragedy is already being manipulated. I wonder (sadly) if we had the same gun laws as Paris if this would have been avoided. Seriously - apparently two of the weapons were purchased legally. Would the laws ineffect in Paris prevented this? Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
  22. As I've stated before. My company pays 100% of our employee health care. Unfortunately the cost keep going up - a lot. It's a small group - 33. We have some health issues in the group. I believe in companies providing health insurance. It is seen as a big benefit to most of my employees but not surprisingly the younger employees would rather have the cash, they can go into the Obama care system and get a better policy than ours for less money BUT the catch is they wouldn't. Most would pay the fine and go without. For the first time ever I have a part time employee who cannot be on our health care. She's interesting. She is estimating her income at (most likely) lower than it will be and getting a nice credit on her insurance. As I understand it she will have to have it adjusted after the first year and she will lose some of the credit. In the end I don't know the right system other than we took a good system but pricey and put in a more expensive system that worse (IMO) but we did cover 17 million more people. If you believe that they 17 million people deserve health care no matter what than I guess your happy. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

  24. So after years of big ways I've joined an eight way team and we will be going to the nationals next year. I was wondering if anyone knew of a software package that has the eight way dive pool....I'll be flying tail and want to get started learning the slot.
