This is extremely ironic for someone who is arguing against the principle of white privilege by claiming victim status on behalf of white people who aren't ahead in life compared to ethnic minorities. But I guess the concepts of probability and statistics are too hard for you to understand.

Since most lorries are speed-limited (at least in the UK) to 60mph, 4.5 hours of driving assuming constant speed would be 270 miles. Tesla Semi has a spec range of 400-500 miles, so until the UK diverges from the EU law on this, unless they don't charge during stops it would actually be illegal to drive long enough to fully drain the battery.

"Some liberals are murderers" is also a fact. It's the percentage that's the important detail, and I think it's the lack of attention to these kinds of details that has gotten us into this situation.

For one, I'd be glad if you would just stop generalising people in entire industries as being only profit-driven when you don't know a thing about them. I know doctors who agonise over every single death that happens in their care. Implying that finding a cheap cure for cancer is a conflict of interest for them is an ignorant insult. I'm fine with your claim that you care about more than just money. But if you claim that you're the only one who does, or that somehow you're in the minority, I'll call it out for the bullshit that it is.

Who cares? I seriously don't care about your views on money, just that you're projecting them on some people in organisations who could be completely innocent of the accusations you're making. Yeah, you're the only one right? The only one. Or at least part of a "special minority" (e.g. people you like) and everyone else are greedy bastards who are only in it for the money. Oh yes, definitely. This isn't restricted by political affiliation, all you need is for their intelligence to fall below a certain level. As for the relative probabilities of liberals or conservatives' intelligence falling below that level, I'll leave as an exercise for the reader.

Well with all the genius** in this post, I'm 100% sure that the person who comes up with a cure for cancer will NOT be you. (by the way: cancer is not just one disease, but thousands of very different diseases so I know "a" cure is far too simplistic, but I needed to simplify my language to reach their level) **sarcasm by the way - after that post I can't be setting my expectations too low can I?

You're projecting your greed onto other people. Like how climate scientists "are only in the AGW conspiracy for money". Like how doctors are only into oncology for the money. God forbid that climate scientists actually care for the environment, or doctors actually want to save dying patients. Because you, you only care about money so you think everyone else does.

FYI, because of thermodynamic efficiency the energy a perfectly tuned car can get from a gallon of gas is about 30% of the actual energy. Mostly it's about 20%. Transporting gas around is transporting a highly flammable liquid that can evaporate at high temperatures and emits fumes, corrodes or dissolves some polymers, can pool, leak, needs pumps to fight gravity, etc. For electricity, a "pipeline" is a plain piece of metal. You can turn it uphill, sharp angles (mostly) and almost any direction without needing to worry about pipe loss or pressure loss. It's much easier to transport electricity than a hydrocarbon fuel. Setting up a charging point is trivial compared to setting up a new petrol station. Yes, the only thing now is range and energy density (see the electric aircraft thread) but the technology is starting to reach this level.

Thing is, nobody needed the media to tell them he was an idiot. You could always have gone on to his Twitter feed and read stuff straight from the man himself, no middleman, no filters. Nobody to tell you what to think. I did regularly and it was easy to see how deranged he was. At least, not until he got himself kicked out for inciting an insurrection.

I'm not name calling, just stating a fact. If vaccine effectiveness was measured by how many people believed in the vaccine, then we shouldn't have bothered with the Phase 3 clinical trials right? Or closer to your analogy: the more people that are offended by the vaccine, the more effective it is. Which I hope you realise, is not a very good way to measure its effectiveness.
