Um, what? Vaccines don't kill viruses. They prepare your immune system to recognise the virus earlier. EDIT to clarify: no vaccine in the world for any disease kills viruses. It's in the definition of vaccine. "you're better off preparing your immune system and avoiding exposure to the virus than preparing your immune system". There's more than one way to prepare your immune system from the virus - one of them is the vaccine.

Hey, you were supposed to praise him for restraining himself and not sexually harassing them. He's really proud of not doing crimes, it's really difficult you know?

Had a friend who was complaining about gay pride celebrations - "if they want equality why are they making a big fuss out of it?" Following that logic, nobody should be allowed to celebrate their birthday or anything important to them because we're all equal, right? Birthdays, veterans day, etc. should all be abolished, because it means someone else is more important than you on that day. And that's really what you're saying about homosexuality - you "support their rights" but you're still more important than they are.

One more, relatively young at 30, not really in the usual risk group for covid. But if you don't get the vaccine, you're rolling the dice. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/aug/29/texas-caleb-wallace-anti-mask-protests-freedom-dies-covid-19 EDIT to add: he also began taking high doses of Vitamin C, zinc and ivermectin. How anyone prefers the serious side effects of antiworm medication, to a slightly sore arm for a few hours is beyond me.

After failing to argue your "if you oppose firearm proliferation, it's your fault they proliferate" point, you post another Ben Shapiro video without any commentary. In 2019, Ben Shapiro had an interview with BBC's Andrew Neill, who he accused of being left wing, biased and only out for profit (BBC is a non-profit). Furthermore, Andrew Neill is actually the head of several conservative and right-leaning organisations in the UK, and he most recently founded an "anti-woke" channel GB News. It's a pretty long video at 16 minutes, but it's a fun watch: https://youtu.be/6VixqvOcK8E

I actually have something about the arguments, so bear with me a bit more: It's actually NOT consistent - let me summarize: CO2 increases. Climate begins to warm. Scientists gather data, summarize it using statistical analysis, use correlations, and propose that one causes the other. Brent: it's all wrong, there's no link! Wall of FBI firearms checks vs. time. No studies, no analysis. Brent: the numbers speak for themselves! CLEARLY opposing freely available firearms CAUSES their sales to increase! It's all libs' fault! There are many other examples I could use, but the only consistency I see is a causal link is "created" if it fits his worldview, and strenuously denied if it doesn't. The mental gymnastics have gone from silly, to the-emperor-has-no clothes comical...

How's the visibility in sunlight?

Brent posted raw numbers so he didn't even do any statistical analysis, like getting correlation coefficients or p-values. He just declared that they support his argument. (not that he knows how to do any statistical analysis...) And the fact that many post hoc examples are childishly obvious. This critical thinking ability is so fundamental to intelligence...so either he's trolling, or as some doctors put it, "the lights are on but nobody's home". Good luck training that.

post hoc, ergo propter hoc. Unfortunately they don't have mental gymnastics as part of the Olympics, you'd win the brown medal for sure

Not sure we can blame ivermectin for the verbal diarrhea we've had from brent so far...

Well I think this is probably the crux of our disagreement...so I guess we'll see.

I think it's a lot more complicated than that. A bloody invasion would trigger a much wider conflict - drawing in countries who normally hate each other and unifying them against China - for example Japan, South Korea and several Southeast Asian countries, not to mention some western countries who have an interest, not just the US. It could be a WW3-level conflict. Not to mention opposition within China itself - a lot of their pop culture and technology comes from Taiwan and flattening it would be counterproductive, as Taiwan isn't very resource-rich anyway. There's no oil or any significant mineral resource in Formosa. It's all about soft power and a bloody invasion would destroy a lot of that. The military build up is all about perception and intimidation, kind of like how nukes are for MAD (mutually assured destruction) rather than for actual use. They prevent Taiwan from declaring independence, but at the same time Taiwan's combined military/soft power prevents the mainland from invading. And soft power is a lot more difficult to obtain than economic or military power. I don't know how long this will last, but your certainty seems to be based on extremely simplified assumptions (and possibly an exceedingly US-centric view) of the current situation.
-
How much time have you spent in the Far East? I lived there for years, have several Taiwanese and mainland Chinese friends, yet I'm nowhere near as certain as you seem to be about this.
-
TSMC. Taiwan is very, very different to Afghanistan. Much better motivated, much better organised, much better armed. And technologically advanced. You're making China = Taliban in this lesson, but in this situation China will be more like the US.

What stopped in 1998 wasn't the global warming, it was their thought process. Non-paywalled version straight from the NOAA: https://www.noaa.gov/news/its-official-july-2021-was-earths-hottest-month-on-record Prediction: we're not going to get a July update from the troll. (we'll probably get an update in October or something, saying "today was cooler than yesterday, ha!")

The stupid is strong with this one...

Slower is an understatement. Blue Origin was founded BEFORE SpaceX was...and they've sent nothing to orbit. Instead of the strategy of crawl - walk - run, Blue Origin leadership has decided to skip the 'walk' stage and go directly to 'run': https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/03/so-what-really-happened-with-blue-origins-new-glenn-rocket It's like a recent A license downsizing from a Nav 290 to a 90 Valkyrie, it'll end well...

So how's life under the sea, Ariel?

Again, are you a fish? It's only fifth if you take ocean temperatures into account. On land, it's the hottest. Number 1. Taken directly from the link I posted.

Brent: But it was colder today than it was yesterday! Even when I exhaled some CO2 it was still not warmer than yesterday! -
Just in before brent posts again - goalpost move is imminent

No additional warming? June 2021 had the HIGHEST global land temperatures for June on record. Hottest June in 142 years unless you're a fish. You would have noticed that if you read more than just the title. wriggling out of your bullshit getting more difficult now isn't it?
