Not yet. Does it have to be dominant instantly?

Sorry, not what I mean to do, just genuinely curious about the reasoning behind it. China's building coal plants at a rapid pace because as a developing country, their energy needs are increasing quickly. But energy demand isn't increasing as quickly in the US and Europe - buildings, factories, etc that need energy already have it, mostly. Energy companies in the US are just trying to build as little capacity as they can to maximise their profits. Building too much capacity will crash prices and therefore their profits. It's like looking at Michael Phelps' 10,000-calorie diet during the Olympics and thinking you should be eating the same amount. It doesn't make sense unless you're doing the same thing.
-
Then fracking in the US and the oil sands in Canada will take a beating like they did in early 2020 - they can't support low oil prices because their breakeven price is around $50. What problem are you trying to solve? Brent's "skyrocketing" energy costs?
-
When you need to increase energy production capacity for wind or solar, you just add an extra solar panel or an extra wind turbine and hook it up. Repeat as many times as necessary. If you want to increase energy production for a coal plant, you'll need to choose a site, get architects in and design and build an entire power plant facility. Gives you a big step increase in power capacity, but takes a lot longer. So which is easier to do? Hint: it's the cheaper option.

No, they just love choking on smog and pollution...yep, they feel no pressure at all to clean up their air. </s> https://edition.cnn.com/2021/08/23/china/china-air-pollution-mic-intl-hnk/index.html

And on the topic of "mental gymnastics" only Brent could post this link from the NOAA and say "global warming has paused!" https://www.noaa.gov/news/us-west-hit-with-extreme-heat-drought-and-unrelenting-wildfires-in-july and it's cute he's using the "mental gymnastics" phrase now after I used it...but it doesn't seem like he's learning much else Here's the full quote: Also from the NOAA website soon after: https://www.noaa.gov/news/its-official-july-2021-was-earths-hottest-month-on-record Earth's hottest month on record. And Brent? crickets...

So let's build the cheapest energy source then. Oh wait, that's solar. https://www.carbonbrief.org/solar-is-now-cheapest-electricity-in-history-confirms-iea

Agree that it's unlikely to be more than single-digit. I'd go further and say it's probably less than 1%. Spoke to an antivaxxer on the phone yesterday - when I asked if he got vaccinated, he pretty much came out with a lot of bogus stats ("most people have already had it and not known it") and implied that people who take it are both risking their lives and also government bootlickers. Need to cover all bases, right?
-
Good find! I really like how his meme aged: Well it looks like his luck ran out...meanwhile those of us vaccinated continue to be very, very lucky. Strange huh?
-
Looks like you're right, it is inside. I thought it was outside because he said earlier it would be hard to focus on something so close.
-
No, you want the tint between the OLED and the outside, not between the OLED and your eyes. So not a tinted visor.
-
you can get tinted film for car windows quite easily, just cut it to size. There are even photochromic ones available.

This was observed with a drug concentration 100 times higher than normal peak concentrations. Animals have survived higher dosages, but at that level I don't think side effects will be very minor anymore.

The weird thing is that there were 4 companies implicated in the Opoid crisis, and only one of them (Johnson & Johnson) is now involved in manufacturing the vaccines. And most of the attacks are on Pfizer and AstraZeneca, not J&J...not that I'm expecting them to be able to tell the difference.
-
No detectable antibodies doesn't mean no immunity - the immune system has B lymphocytes and T lymphocytes that also seem to retain viral signatures long term. But yes, boosters are starting to look like a good idea. What's not a good idea is skipping the vaccine and completely relying on Vitamin D and a healthy lifestyle.
-
Did you have to draw it in crayon? this is too funny! Yes sorry I'm being a bit provocative, but at least I'm not giving people bad health advice during a pandemic that could put lives at risk, you know?
-
Even though he had no idea what he was talking about, Brent at least mentioned something not usually taught in high school...Krebs cycle lol
-
So why don't you be more specific on what's your concern with the vaccine? Is it the 1-methyl-3’-pseudouridylyl (Ψ) substitution? The actual S protein subunit encoded? Go on, don't hold back. We can handle it.
-
suuuuuure. you sure that 4.0 wasn't creative writing? ah yes, the sheep accusation. Meanwhile those who keep calling people sheep actually go out and take livestock dewormer...
-
Given that you don't seem to have any idea how the vaccine works, the lack of trust is understandable. It's hard to trust something you don't understand. I feel sorry that it seems to be beyond your ability to understand it, and that you lack more intelligent friends or family who do. Must be scary, no wonder you're angry.

They also intentionally mix up: effectiveness against symptomatic infection effectiveness against hospitalization effectiveness against death Just for propaganda effect (or inability to hold more than 1 number in their head)
-
And as from the other video you posted - it needs to be horse rules all the way. No using up any ICU beds or putting medical staff at risk - they get a shed with some hay and a blanket, and if they can't get up and run after a few days someone goes to them with a tear in their eye and shoots them in the head.
-
While @base698 is concerned about vaccines putting viruses under selection pressure, the virus is putting selection pressure on humans. And the numbers don't look very good on his side.
-
Thanks, at least I learned a new term! But no vaccine is 100% effective, and your post implied that the vaccine's mechanism of action was by directly killing or disabling the virus. So because it's not 100% effective at preventing death, you'll jump without a reserve because it increases the risk of main-reserve entanglement. Much better to just pack your main well. Did I get your logic right?
-
I'm actually still stumped on what a "sterilizing" vaccine would be - would that be injecting/inhaling bleach or shining UV light (where the sun don't shine) as Trump suggested?
