  1. Okay, so now anyone with mental issues (Depression, Asperger Sindrome, etc) is not a law abiding citizen... So what will come next, blacks, inmigrants... In my humble opinion, anyone is a law abiding citizen until they break the law, no sooner, no later. But that is just me, a tree hugging leftist.
  2. ¿Have you ever heard of collateral damage? I am yet to see any right winger show some remorse for the innocents killed in Irak.
  3. Dude, pay some respect, Amazon has done more for the U.S than you will ever do. (not that you have to, you are NOT american) Don´t blame her because she has decided to use her brain.
  4. By the way, what do you call a cuban with a flat tire?... Drowned How did you reach the U.S from Venezuela?
  5. So are Barbara Bush and her twin daughters valid targets since they more often than not gives shelter Bush at home? ¿Bush or Cheney or Clinton, you name it.? For some of them maybe so, maybe not. For the kids, I very much doubt they were planning for AQ.
  6. You must be kidding. The U.S has indeed a problem taking responsability. If someone in the U.S gives shelter to a criminal no matter how heinous his crimes are, do you guys bomb the hell out of his house killing all the family and some neighbours or you try to take the criminal by other means. If you guys don´t do the same in Irak than in the U.S. it must be because you don´t consider an Iraki civilian as worthy as an U.S. civilian.
  7. I will come up with a definition we both can agree. Children, they are so young they cannot enrol in the insurgency files. A few of them died in the last raid and many people are not showing the slightest remorse. I also consider innocent those regarless of age that only want to be left alone by terrorist and U.S military alike. But we muy disagree in the last.
  8. You mean that killing innocent pople is absolute horrible even if the U.S does it? Or only if others do it?
  9. Oh, i forgot, Morocco can keep ceuta y melilla, as long as they keep their citizens in Africa.
  10. Hey, i am here the only spaniard and i am not bitter. You brits can keep Gibraltar all you want as long as you don´t keep breaking nuclear submariness and repair them there. I mean, how hard can it be to drive a sub from A to B without bang it in every rock the mediterranean sea has. Now that we are at it, you guys can keep Cataluña and Basque country as well, the only condition is that you take the people living there as well. They are a royal pain in the ass and talk weird.
  11. I don´t have much experience with strippers (not too many friends getting married), but my experience is that they will do whatever you let them to entertain the rest of the audience. Including but not limited to, whip cream sexual positions, making fun of you, turning you on and telling you all of the sudden you can leave the stage now..., etc, etc.
  12. Isn´t there a middle point beetwen a crack addicted whore and a 40 year old virgin nun? Sort of someone who enjoys freely his/her sexuality? Naaaah, that is to liberal...
  13. I would agree with you if that organization didn´t try to cover it up to avoid bad press, saving in the process many criminals from punishment.
  14. She is Osama Bin Laden with no beard. That is why you guys can not find him. That cheeky bastard...
  15. I would compare it to the big "fuck you" our friends the U.S are doing when commiting illegal activities over European airspace. See, Either there is cooperation or there is not. You cannot have it both ways when it suits you.
  16. Ja. Oui. Si. DaDa. since he apparently is now polish, let me add tac
  17. That is exactly what i told my girlfriend. Seriously, those emotions help us to live in society and take care of our genetic pool. Animals have emotions as well, although probably not as developed due to the lack of language. In many cases what we call emotion is the equivalent to an animal instinct in other species.
  18. Although not directed at me, i will respond. It IS an emotional response. I am against death penalty, but it doesn´t mean i don´t think some people deserve it. If you (generic you) hurt my family or whatever, i will give you death penalty myself if i am present. I wouldn´t just hold you down and call the police. However i would face the consecuences. I am against a state sponsored death penalty where it is "acceptable" to execute an innocent person and no one is held responsible. I am against death penalty for victimless crimes. But i have to be consistent. I will concede that there is some people i think deserve to be death. But since i cannot have both ways i prefer to "err on the side of life".
  19. But you cannot have it both ways. Let´s have this straight, you are willing to put Cory Maye to death even considering he is innocent of any crime rather than showing the "mercy" to lock a murderer like Williams in jail for life. All is fine and dandy until that unjustice is commited against you or you beloved ones.
  20. I wouldn´t linken your prejudices to racial or sexual prejudices, although they are prejudices none the less. Unless anyone can prove that being a sociopath is an entirely free choice, and not that they have something wired up incorrec tly in the head (like schizofrenia), we muct treat them as mentally handicaped. I am all for punishing them if they break the law, but not just because they are mentally ill. If we did that we should get rid of schizofrenics, bi-polars, etc, for the risk they represent to society and taken to the extreme Down syndromes and autists for not being productive.
  21. But you are still in favour of capital punishment, right? I hope someone realizes how fucked up this is before his heart stops beating.
  22. Sorry i had a few beers, it will not happen again. Well, the prison is not cost effective now, but it could be. There will be some people who will be against hard labour, but many many less than there is now currently against death penalty. Removing the threat from society is acomplished by imprisonning the convict for life, in a maximun security jail. Maximum security jails cost a great deal of money, that is why the convict will be earning money by doing hard labour, to pay for the expenses the government has because of him. He pays, not the tax-payer. The retribution to the victim is just away to try to undo the wrong (not possible most of the times) and to stop the government from making profit from a convict. That should keep the government fairly objetive when it comes to convicting and making laws. Just some notes. Quick executions would have killed innocent people that nowadays are alive because they were wrongly accused, although i agree that executing someone 16 years later is stupid. Regarding stricter guidelines and taking out juries, i fully agree, but you should just take out judges as well. Since in the U.S a judge can get involved in politics (in Spain they cannot), many of them can have a conflict of interest beetwen his career as a judge and his career as a politicion. Exactly. We both agree that some crimes deserve death penalty or worse. The thing is that while there is the risk to execute innocent people, we shouldn´t be advocating for non reversible punishments.
  23. Why do you have to accept that "error band" when there is other options better for society? A Life term sentence (without parole) is not a cake. It is a punishment as harsh as getting executed. Some people will say it is more of a punishment, some less, and other about the same, but the fact is that that person will pay the consecuences of his actions. Even more, he can pay back the society by doing hard labour, earning moeny and giving it away to the victims of his crimes. Even better, that is cheaper than death penalty, because with the money he makes he can pay for his stay in prison. It gets even much better... If later on, it is proven that he was innocent, the state can release him right away, and give him some compensation for the mistake. Compensation that can be paid by whoever commited the crime he was accused for if found. I try to see your point of view, but, really, I think that a life term of hard labour is much more convenient for society than death penalty.
  24. Not trying to link it with another thread, but... Was any of the old ladies a nun reaching for her bible?
