last one I promise .............................. My boyfriend, not happy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring the other day so that he can monitor my moods. When I'm in a good mood... it turns green. When I'm in a bad mood... it leaves a big red mark on his forehead. Maybe next time he'll buy me a diamond.

Came across this Joke, I am sure most of you will enjoy this ...... My boyfriend, not happy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring the other day so that he can monitor my moods. It is Monday afternoon, am leaving work and just had to post this ... ( yea I know it is very lame) but for those of u that still have to "work" - Enjoy A redneck wanted to learn how to skydive, so he got an instructor and started his lessons. The instructor told the redneck to jump out of the plane and pull his ripcord. The instructor then explained that he himself would jump out right behind him so that they would go down together. The redneck understood and was ready. When the time came for the redneck to jump from the airplane, the instructor reminded the redneck that he would be right behind him. The redneck proceeded to jump from the plane and after being in the air for a few seconds, pulled the ripcord. The instructor followed by jumping from the plane. The instructor pulled his ripcord but the parachute did not open. The instructor, frantically trying to get his parachute open, darted past the redneck. The redneck, seeing this, yelled as he undid the straps to his parachute, "So you wanna race, huh?"

Hi what is you opinion on the following: On jump run as I am about to exit the plane I do a final check to see where Boc is on my container before I exit .. ie just grab hackey .. let go and then exit ( I have recently converted from ripcord - but used to do same with ripcord) because this adds an extra +-2 seconds before I exit , would u get anxious with me if u where exiting after me. Is it Inconsiderate of me to do this before exiting ?? opinions please?

Well it is only the beginning of the month, and I can tell I am gonna be broke. Have jumped 5 times already from this months paycheck and am still planning to jump on the next 2 weekends. I aint complaining ( Much) But damn - I am deffinatly gonna have to get a 2nd job ( Rigs an things to Buy ). It is all worth it 4 sure. But wouldn't it be Nice If it was Cheaper / We all earned More

(I wanna jump at as many different locations as I can - travel from country to country and just JUMP ) There does not need to neccesarily be a dropzone there it can be anywhere in the world. Mine are ... 1. Egypt - over the pyramids and sphynx. 2. Barcelona 3. the Maldives what are urs ?

What are your favourite Songs to Put to Skydiving Video's. here are some suggestions we have used, work really well. ( just listening to them makes me think of skydiving an SMILE

Hi Just spent this weekend editing and compossing a "callage" of skydiving clips to put on my Video. Could not jump this weekend but at least I sorta did something skydiving related ! what do u guys do when you can't jump for any reason ?
-
Hi I am pretty stoked with myself as I did 3 jumps this weekend and managed to progress quite a bit (in MHO) - I did my first back somersault exit. - I did 2 conversion jumps to BOC - Downsized canopy from student 230sq ft to a ZP 185 canopy. I also had 3 very good landings

I aggree with what you have said. as I am looking for my first Rig, Have spoken to many diff ppl and all have said that Vortex2 harnesses are just as good and probally better than International brands. The only unfortunate Thing Is that we are paying the same prices that the international market pays for products made in our country ?!!?!? My question is how is the sport going to grow in a country - where ppl can not afford rigs etc ?? Is it not beneficial to all involved to lower prices, thus get more Jumpers- which would also help DZ'S and Thus get sponsors easier, after all Corporate sponsors are not interrested in a sport with probally less than 3000 ppl activley participating ?
-
If I do Buy a new rig - Then I would deffinatley need to buy a second hand canopy, and I am guestimating that I would not get a 150sq ft canopy with low jump numbers for less than R6000-00. Do you think that is a fair guestimate ? Which canopies do you think Are best ( I would like to go for Hornet - which is semi eliptical "I think") What else would be a good canopy I would only consider semi eliptical canopies - any opinions on this ?
-
For a brand New rig it is roughly R17000-00 to R19000-00 My Friend got an excellent deal on a 4 month old complete rig for R13000-00 ( Think it is a hornet canopy) Now that Pisa is part of aerodyne, they have stopped making hornet and heatwave canopies . I am not sure what canopies Chuteshop is Using if you buy from them.

Thanks For the Link -- i will spk to hima s soon as I can. You are right about the prices, as well as me speaking to various ppl at diff drop zones + also chuteshop in Durban. One of the many selling factors for VortexII is that if I have a probem with a rig from overseas it is more of a hassle. I have heard very good things about Vortex II from many different dealers as well. BTW a brand new rig is roughly R17000-00 ( think that is custom made) I have considered Javelin and Mirage + can get the harnesses for +-$1000-00 but means that I would have to spend at least $2300-00 on a rig + shipping ??
-
I am looking to buy My first Rig -and am going to place an ad in the wanted section as well - but I am sure most ppl don't look there. Anyways ... I have got 23 jumps, am looking to get a vortex II with a 150 main ( I am 5'3 and weight 58KG) so there is no probs with wingloading. I know that If i do find a rig with a 150sq ft main, I will not be able to jump it for a while ( but have been advised against looking for a 170sq ft) If anybody has one to sell / knows of anybody willing to sell, please let me know.

Hi Yesterday, was at the dropzone and could not jump because it was too windy ( I have 23 jumps and am still using a 230sq Ft canopy) I would Just like to advise people to use a bit of common sense and listen to your Instructors /senior skydivers. On this particular occasion, some more experienced jumpers did jump ( only the heavier guys where allowed to jump ie ... over 80KG and most jumping with 170sq ft canopy or smaller) Anyways there where no incidents luckily, however everyone had a "unusual" landing with one jumper being pulled across the runway after landing well. My Instructor who has over 2500 jumps saw these jumpers and promptly said "he was not gonna jump in those conditions". He set a good example for his ex students - myself included, that never be to proud / brave to refuse to jump in conditions that are potentially dangerous. To Him I have had the Utmost Respect and after yesterday It has multiplied enormously. I think a lot of incidents could be avoided by using some common sense and those that try to jump in conditions that are above there ability and then get hurt give our beautiful sport a Bad image. Just My thoughts about yesterday ... and reminding ppl to never be to proud or stubbon to think of safety first "esp us newbies" Also Thanks to all Those Instructors who set EXCELLENT examples to all involved in the sport !!

Cool Thanks for the info This may be a stupid question, but was Just wondering - when you take an alti on an airplane with you in your hand luggage, does it get affected at all, because you are flying above 30 000ft - way beyond what the alti can read. Do you need to do anything to before / after your flight before you jump with it ( besides of course callibrating it to 0, wherever you are gonna jump from)
-
I am looking to get my first altimeter and was wondering about peoples experience /opinion on whether to go for Barigo or Altimaster III. Is there Much of a difference ? Thanks
-
Spoken to organisers to clarify your question about height above ground level. have been told there will be a minimum of 14000 ft above ground with most loads going to 1600ft agl !

yea u are right !! thanks for the advice.

Yay Me !! I have just finnished my Aff (mmm hop n pops is freaky) an can not wait to get to the dz to do some jumps to build more confidence. oddly as this may sound having just got through aff course. I am quite scared to attempt back flip as my previous 1 that i did i wound up in headdown and struggled to gain stability, eventually did and then everything was okay. Any advice ??
