  4. you are right - I am the one that has got to choose and accept my dessicions. Like I said earlier, I really do enjoy skydiving, and have learned from my friends lesson ( BE extra careful, never become complacent) I suppose I really needed to just let out how I was feeling, and also to see that other ppl have the same / similar situations. I know that is only because of love that ppl are concerned and because of love I think they will accept what I love to do. Thanks for all the advise ...... RESPEC ...........
  5. Have u guys ever had pressure from family and friends to stop skydiving? I have only done 30 jumps and was at the dropzone with 4 friends ( 1 of which is a very very good friend - he has done 60 jumps) He was on one load before myself and 3 other friends and was jumping a canopy he had never jumped before. Anyways we watched him comming in to land and he (admits he made a big mistake - "whether it was lack of concentration or whatever) but he hit the ground very very hard and Thank G-D ( a million times) the injuries he sufferred are not to serious, he is gonna have a backbrace for 5 months and has said that he wants to jump again. The accident freaked out of a a lot of ppl esp non jumping friends ( I did 2 jumps the next day after spending the day at hospital with him) I had to see whether this is something that I could still enjoy and Love ( I decided I did really enjoy it) I feel that I am putting a lot of emotional strain on my loved ones when I do jump ( they do not understand that my friend made a mistake) and I think they feel really scared it will happen to me. I am feeling torn as I would really like to jump ( I do understand the risks - and feel I can cope with them), however I do not want friends and esp my family to worry about me any comments ?? suggestions ?? have u had similar situations ??

  9. Hi Does anybody know where I can get A New Navy Blue or Red Protec helmet ? I have tried multiple online stores and all on;y seem to have black ( apparently protec stopped making colours) If anybody has a contact please let me know Thanks
  10. Thanks for the advice Btw - Do u jump at Nylstroom ? ( I met a karl there the other week) - Not sure if u are the same one Anyways Thanks
  11. Thanks That is a good idea - I will deff spk to coaches before I start. What I will probally do is 2 coach jumps on weekend and then 1 solo to practise. In the long run it may work out cheaper, because i know when Itrack sometimes i track in a semi circle. ( does this make you fail ?) also too me it sounds like you did level 1 correct. All I know is that you have to dock coach.
  12. Okay cool. Well then I am grateful I asked here before I do anything to the Helmet Thanks for the info
  13. To get CAT II Consists of 7 jumps ( levels) have to do 1 linked exit 6 non linked exits - where u need to dock on "instructor" Reason to do CAT II jumps is so that you can do a 2way - In south Africa you can only do solo jumps if u have a CAT I ( A License)
  14. Sorry I am not american myself. CAT II is basically what i guess most people call coaching jumps. Basically I jump with a coach and have to dock different positions /catch them in freefall do 360 degree turns etc. Once you are a CAT II skydiver you can jump with one other CAT II skydiver
  15. If you think I should do a few more practise jumps - What could I do to practise, on the ground and in the air. In fact any ideas/ suggestions for practise on ground to make sure body symetrical would be really useful to me ( think it may be 1 leg is slightly lower than other that may cause problem with certain turns) Thanks Respec!
  16. Hi I am hoping some ppl can shed some light on this subject - I know jump numbers etc do not matter as far as going for Cat II is concerned. I realise that it is more abilty and comfort level that will determine the readiness. Which brings me to my questions. I feel quite relaxed in the air and am slowly playing around with leg position etc. However I usually do a dive exit which is very steep and then sometimes go unstablebefore regainning stabilit etc ... ( I am sure this would hamper going for cat II) ............. Do I do Cat II jumps - ( at least I am jumping with someOne anyways) and If I stuff them up then just work through it. Or do I concentrate on better exits by myself and work on controlling my turns better etc ( I can do a turn - but do not always stop where I want to) Knowing my character ( usualy quite tough on myself - yes I know I shouldnt be) I don't want to let myself down or the coach for that matter please give me ur advise go straight for CAT II or 3/4 more Fun Jumps to work on it More ?
  17. Thanks for the info I will try it
  18. Hi I am getting myself a protec helmet (basic and freefly friendly) and I want to draw /paint a silver dragon on the back of it. My question is .. What sort of paints would I use ? should I then varnish the whole helmet once Dragon is painted ? would varnish damage the helmet in any way ? please let me know specifically if you have done this urself Thanks
  19. Yay My workday is almost over ... and not to soon ... In fact this week feels like it has been 4eva But yay ... in exactly 3 hrs me weekend starts an me is jumping tomm morning !!!
  20. My parents at first thought it was okay ( although not happy) when they thought It would be a once off. Then when I started going every weekend, My Dad was not interrested and did not want to hear about it at all ( ... If I don't know u do it, then u don't do it - sort of philosophy). Now my parents have realised that I really love it and am not gonna stop anytime soon, so they tolerate it, and when I tell them I am going to the dropzone they are okay with It. I am gonna show them some video Of me Tonight

    Smile :-)

Two cowboys are out on the range talking about their favourite sex position. One says, "I think I enjoy the rodeo position the best." "I haven't ever heard of that one", says the other cowboy, "What is it?" "Well, it's where you get your girlfriend down on all fours, you mount her from behind, you reach around and cup each one of her breasts in your hands, and then you whisper in her ear; "Boy, these feel just like your sister's".... and then you try to hold on for 8 Seconds.
  22. Come Jump In South Africa -- It is cheap(espicially if you are bringing dollars)a slot costs roughly R150-00 which is about $18. and we have awsome dropzones.
  23. Okay since you wanna get philosophical ... When you go looking for what you want in life, you loose what you already had and therefore you loose yourself because you are what you have ( ideal's knowledge and believe). If you do wnat to get something new or change, the change has to come from within ! Or something like that
  24. Thanks for opinions BTW We do a thousand foot check .. and esp because we use a cessna 206T I have a lot of time to altitude and I do check my chest strap leg straps 3 rings and touch cutaway as well as go trhough motion in my mind on the way to altitude.
