I cooked for my friend tonight. Very nice dinner date. We're FRIENDS, but she said that if I cooked like this more often, she'd marry me. Hehehehehe. What a disaster that would be. Dear God this Herradura complements Patron sometimes. I mean just sip one and then sip the other, and the contrast just jumps out at you. Anyway, we had steamed asparagus spears in proscuittio for an appetizer, crab legs with garlic butter, baked potatos, and ginger brocolli for dinner with double strawberry baked alaska for dessert. I wish I hadn't had to drive so I could have enjoyed the wines, but oh well. They tasted good. I really want to go Christmas carolling, but figure I had better drink some agua and go to bed. I am sitting here with a bottle of Patron. And a bottle of Herradura, in case the Patron bottle gets lonely and wants to talk. I'm in for the DZ.com runner's club. Are we going to do TNT or something like that and all run a marathon together?

Discretionary wise, at any rate, that's somewhat likely to be correct. The die is already cast for mandatory spending increases. They're already bought, but not paid for...the loan hasn't even been taken out yet, in fact. The past decade has shown us the absolute WORST performance by Congress in the past quarter century at least - half century in all likelihood. I mean utterly abyssmal. I do, on the other hand, find a thread focusing on the double standards of the media and the Democrats, one questioning why anyone should give democrats any standing when accusing Republicans of being soft on pedophilia, and one where ever salient point brought up by the right leaning DZ.com'ers has been dodged by the left leaning denizens of this forum. I'm in agreement with The111 on this. There are a lot of things that are nifty to derive, but sometimes memorization is the way to go. Think about how many times you've used the half angle trig identities or certain integrals. You derive them once or run through their proof, but in the end, you memorize it and then apply it. Not everybody has to take Real Analysis.

Selected moral outrage is the hallmark of many politicians on both sides of the proverbial political fence, tbough these days it does seem to be on the left more than the right. I'm sure the pendulum will swing back the other way in time. The Vagina Monologues...interesting point there. In their defense, I'd wager that many of those pontificating about Mr. Foley have never seen the play, though I'm sure they've heard of it by name (hard not to if you've watched the news over the past few years). Haven't heard any major conservatives bashing the play either. I've never seen it and don't plan to. I do like theatre though. I think other things many prominent leftists have done better illustrate their selective moral outrage philosophy. Pelosi marching in the SF parade where the grand marshall was the president of NAMBLA, for instance. Remember the assault on the Catholic church the leftists mounted, in conjunction with their sycophant media, in the wake of the priest-molestation scandal? No uproar from the media about a prominent leftist being in the parade. None from leftists either. Another example from a couple of decades ago would be Gerry Studds and the standing ovations he received after his dalliance with a page was revealed and he was censured. How many of those applauding are still active in politics today? Pedophila is sick, wrong, disgusting, atrocious, etc. Those sick bastards who do such things or who aid and abet such actions should be tried and executed (not wanting a death penalty thread here, please start a new one if you disagree, or substitute 'incarcerated forever' for 'executed' if you like). I think the left and the right are in unison on that, for the most part. What SunDevil is pointing out, and I believe quite salient, is that the left has no standing from which to throw stones on this issue. Many of their prominent politicians are doing so...and with the right calling them out on Pelosi, Studds, et al, showing their shallowness and lack of courage by refusing to address the points of argument brought before them. Instead of throwing stones and then running from the counter-barrage fired by the right, the leftists should engage with the right and, in unison, declare such abhorrent activity to be unacceptable from any member of Congress (or human being). Ahem. In 1990 we shared the national championship with CO - GT #1 in the UPI and CO #1 in the AP. This in spite of CO getting 5 downs to beat MO due to a ref screw-up, CO's smashing 3-0 romp over Notre Dame in the BCS, and GT's undefeated season. We're not bad this year either, though we're not great. I think we were #18 the last time I looked. GO JACKETS!!!!!
