Oooooh......I like that. Interesting and damned accurate. Liberals do hate talk radio as a general rule of thumb. I've heard about them starting their own radio network - LMFAO.

Now that is funny as hell. I am truly chuckling. I'll look forward to reading those books. Send them to Hollister DZ and I'll pick them up there. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Re-read my posts. I said Fox news has a slight right slant to it. I admit it. Happily. I hold and continue to hold that Fox has a slight tilt while the other networks are at a 30 degree tilt to the left. Calling O'Reilly biased to the right when I've heard him bash the Republican party, Bush, Bush's father, Jeb Bush, Newt Gingrich, and many other Republicans holds about as much water with me as calling me a racist because I don't support affirmative action (that's zero for you Gore supporters out there). He IS a commentator and not a news anchor. IF Fox were strongly biased to the right (as compared to a slight bias, which I admit in my previous post), examples such as those I've asked for would be spewing my way. They're not, so I assume my hypothesis to be correct until they do. My own theory about FoxNews and the internet is this: for years the lefties have had a firm grasp on the media for the most part. With the advent of the internet and FoxNews, this has come to a screeching halt, driving them insane. That easy access to information and a major network slightly tilted to the right gives a large chunk of folks whom I refer to as 'educated swing voters' EASY access to information concerning the major political issues. This info doesn't really support the arguments of the left, so the large group of swing voters doesn't vote for them. Hence the trouble they've been having in recent elections. Muenkel said it - '04 is coming up soon. And while I'm REALLY ticked off at Bush, nobody the left is running is worth voting for. If I get more ticked off, I'll vote with my heart for the Libertarian candidate.

I was in the air and I heard someone talking smack about short blond haired libertarians. Telling short jokes, calling me blondie, and etc. The voice just wouldn't shut up. All of a sudden, I realized - it was the mountain! I yelled at it, and it told me to bring it on. Whilst I was about to land on the mountain to give it the assbeating of the millenia, the mountain's buddy, Mr. RidgeDraft, picked up my canopy and bodyslammed me head first into the side of the mountain. I began to slide down the mountain, but grabbed on and then hand-over-handed it up to where I could daisy chain my chute. I then climbed to the top where I could give the mountain an ass-beating. Within a few scant seconds, it shut the hell up. Minutes later I was pissing into Mr. RidgeDraft and onto the humbled mountain. They don't make mountains like they used to. That mountain is a puss. Valiant effort Sir Bill, but all for naught. A few comments: - O'Reilly is a news commentator. I've heard him bash Bush, his brother, his father, and even the great Reagan once or twice. Using your limited examples as proof of bias only works on those who aren't familiary with Bill O. - All of the stuff you mentioned reported by news anchors came from sources in the field and were at least plausible. If you think a pesticide factory can't produce chemical weapons stop telling everyone you're an engineer cause you're sure as hell faking it. - The war had bipartisan support. The focus of your post was Fox stories in support of the war, which was not a republican effort. What did El Jefe Clintonista say about the status of WMDs on the day he left office, by the way? An example of POLITICAL bias would be calling a liberal justice a 'despicable person' and saying that the best thing his wife could do is feed him high cholesterol foods so he dies an early death(Malveaux's comments ring a bell?), call the head of a liberal organization a fucking idiot (Gumbell is such an unbiased fellow), or something of the sort. Please feed me some from FoxNews. I'm looking forward to hearing them. If you like I can find several from CNN/Rather/Jennings (Jennings in particular just loved the Sandinistas so). Methinks ye'll have trouble finding such quotations......hehehehehehehehehehehehe

The WSJ is my favorite newspaper, but I don't consider it as major of a media outlet as the LA Times, NYTimes, CBS, NBC, CNN, ABC, Fox, etc. I'll agree with you that it's pretty damned balanced, but look at the demographics of its readers as compared with the other outlets and you'll see why. Instead of presenting me with some FoxNews examples of conservative extremism you've given me an article I've already read from a news source I never once mentioned here. Try again.

Quite interesting, but Special Report is news commentary and only one of several shows on FoxNews. Nice #'s, but they're used for support rather than illumination. I see about an equal # of lefties as conservatives on my favorite news commentary show, Hannity & Colmes, as I do conservatives. Few libertarians on any of the programs, however. I guess Neal Boortz kicking O'Reilly's ass in public has made us persona non grata.

Once again, you claim Fox is 'right' and then present no evidence to support this claim. I will concede that Fox does lean a BIT right but far right - not by a long shot. If FOX NEWS were a far right outlet, you would be able to present quotes akin to some of the ones presented by the Media Research Center, Bernie Goldberg in his book, Ann Coulter in hers (there are some errors in there, but that does not in any way mitigate the effectiveness of the MAJORITY of her quotes therein), etc. FAIR's website doesn't seem to be able to do this. I think it's the details that Fox reports and CNN doesn't that infuriates the left so much. Take the ILWU strike for instance. I watched CNN coverage on this several times and never ONCE heard the salaries of these overpaid crybabies mentioned - perhaps they did so when I wasn't watching, but it was NOT mentioned frequently. I saw it on FOX, however. Striking whiners who make six figures don't get a lot of sympathy from the public. Striking whiners DO get sympathy from the public when they appear on TV looking like blue collar workers and their salaries aren't mentioned. Food for thought. Beers to all, Vinny the Anvil

I beg to differ - FoxNews is not far right. Perhaps a little right, but far-right - give me a break. If it were far right there would be quotes from FoxNews folks similar to Malveaux's remarks about Justice Thomas, Bryant Gumpbell's 'fucking idiot' remark about the head of the Family Values Coalition, and the myriad of other comments from the mainstream media. I visit the democratic underground website from time to time for entertainment purposes, and they DO flame Fox incessantly, as do many other leftist sights. I also think it was a reasonable assumption that prior to the advent of the internet and FoxNews, the leftmedia DID have a stranglehold on the news agenda. Didn't hear anything about the Moskito Indian massacre in the eighties, did you? That might have made the Sandinistas, the darlings of Bonior, Kerry, and the left, look a bit evil and give the Reagan Administration a bit of a break on their central American fiasco. With the internet and Fox, that would not have been the case.
-
All of the other network news centers, including the Clinton News Network (CNN) reported the story as well. If memory serves there WAS about US$10K of damage done, and some idiots spent over a quarter million investigating erroneous charges. That is no indication of Fox being unfair and unbalanced. It is also no indication of anyone being branded as anti-American who disagrees with the Bush administration or FoxNews.

Glad you're back in the air mouth! Vinny the Anvil: 0:3:0. Bummer. Work hath captured me. Made Church on Sunday and might fly this evening, but worked my arse off all day Sunday (Church + work - what a hypocrite I am....then again I AM a hypocritical libertarian by way of politics....

Interesting. Let's see some examples of FoxNews bein unfair and unbalanced. I'd love to hear about them. I've heard Sheppard Smith, Bill O'Reilly, and even Sean Hannity bash the Bush Administration, so PLEASE don't embarrass yourself by calling them administration mouthpieces. I've yet to hear anyone call someone who disagrees with FoxNews anti-American - where exactly do you get that point of logic? You sound like most lefties when they talk about FoxNews. The fact that a non-left-leaning network has come into the marketplace and done extremely well is enraging to them. The fact that left-leaning news sources no longer have total control of the news agenda is something the left simply cannot stand. And what the left can neither stand for nor refute, they must attack. Looking forward to hearing some examples of bias with which you intend to prove your theory.

Rush is entertaining on occasion - much like Al Franken to some people. I don't listen to Rush very often any more, but enjoy his stuff when I manage to tune in. Sometimes he's way off the mark but most of the time he's got some interesting points presented in a hilarious way. One thing that amazes me is the fascination of some lefties with Rush. They spend a ton of time complaining about him and when they find minute problems with Rush's arguments (sometimes gaping holes to be sure) they crow and puff out their chests and put on airs of intellectual superiority over the 'evil Republicans'. They spend a lot of time attacking him, but little time...er....no time...refuting his arguments when he makes a pertinent point. I also like Rush for a lot of the charity work he's done and you have to admire the way he's handled his recent bout with hearing loss, regardless of your political ideology. My views on Rush. I have been working all day and wish I was skydiving. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Ohhhhh the prospects here....I don't avidly hate Al Franken as much as I have utter contempt for him....I might actually buy his book for entertainment purposes. It'll get a thorough screening at Borders prior to purchase.......can't be worse than idiot boy Gore's or Moore's garbage/books. Natacha!!!!!!! Beer and BBQ tomorrow......I'll arrive a little late though....work and etc. Commercial license is YEARS away for me......sorry folks.....I'd rather skydive than fly the plane any day of the week..... but IF there were a scenario in which I DID have my license AND I could take y'all up....I'd be there for you

No dude, I'd have to disagree on that. We are just going to space a lot more often than we used to due to ISS and etc. The Brazilian Space Program is impressive but not all that advanced yet. I feel for them, but setbacks at this stage in the game are to be expected. Anybody hear what type of fuel they were using? LOX? Hypergols? MMH? Solids? Just wondering. I hope all those injured are OK. I'm pretty opinionated on the space program and its currents status so I'm not going to get started. Beers to all, Vinny the Anvil

I just did my first solo flight! Took off from Monterey and went to Salinas for a couple of touch and gos. My instructor hopped out and I took it around the pattern a few times and managed not to kill myself or crash the airplane. It's much more fun to jump out of one, but fun to fly them as well. Anyway, I'm stoked. Thanks Aviatrix! (and of course Chris Ashford too!). Beers to all, Vinny the Anvil

I like red too....especially when it is NOT on my head......in my helmet.......on my jumpsuit... hehehehehehehehehe I kicked that mountain's ass. Of course, I'm going to AVOID setting foot on it again, but it knocked the shit out of me and a few minutes later, I was pissing on it. AND I met a hot emergency room doctor afterwards. All in all, I feel the mountain took an assbeating. However, I DID look like shit afterwards, as the evidence shows.
