Nice article. Unlike most of the leftist articles I read about the President, instead of dripping venom profusely without making any factual statements, this one makes some quite valid points. It's piqued my interest with regards to the Nazi sabateur training and the assassination of the mayor of Aachen - can't say as I know much about either. Calls for some reading on my part. Revisionist history is disgusting no matter whom the culprit. This article mentions it, but though it's used as a political attack in this case, the revisionism going on in the textbook-writing realm of America is truly alarming when you look at it. From the little perspective I have seen and read, some of our fundamental values and historical events are being removed from the curricula completely. I've read a few articles on such and found it quite sad. A recent form of revisionist history from the left came from AlGore himself: 'My father took heat for voting for the Civil Rights Act of 1964' (that's a paraphrase, but pretty damned close). His father voted AGAINST the Civil Rights Act. Revisionism sux- regardless of who does it. Ahhhhh....I'm so glad I'm a libertarian. OK Alana - you always seemed pretty damned cool from your postings. Now that I know you've at least attempted to crush a beer can on your head, I know your one of the coolest chicks on the planet - and I haven't even met you! I tend to drink the beer first, then grasp the can from the bottom. As I impact it into my head I squeeze inward, causing a weak point in the sides of the can. It usually crushes quite handily. Reading several different papers with great frequency, keeping abreast of most current events, and being a quite inquisitive and investigative fellow when I desire, I usually have quite a firm grasp on the issues O'Reilly or any other commentator speaks - those that interest me anyway. Don't tell me you're going to start that FoxNews-bashing again. To reiterate once more: TELLING THOSE OF US WHO HEAR/SEE FOX COMMENTATORS BASH REPUBLICANS ON OCCASION THAT FOXNEWS IS A TOTALLY BIASED RIGHT-WING NEWS OUTLET IS A FUTILE ATTEMPT AT IMPRESSING YOUR MISGUIDED OPINIONS ONTO OTHERS. WE'VE WATCHED THE STUFF. WE KNOW THAT YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. It's like trying to convince me I'm a racist because I don't support affirmative action - you have no chance of doing so. As a matter of fact/humor, I can make a STRONG argument ala BillVon that Fox actually leans left. I haven't read the report yet. I'm still a bit amazed at the whole thing and think that I'll be engrossed in the report when I read it. It'll have to wait, as I'm engrossed in some filtering work right now. Some of the people deriding NASA engineers are folks who couldn't do a Laplace transform to save their lives. Disgusting. I was watching Bill while working out tonight and I turned his ass off. Once again, he ticked me off. Not that I won't watch him again, but he irked me severely this evening. I've met a lot of NASA folks. Worked with a few NASA folks and astronauts too. They are the nicest, most intelligent, most safety conscious and most professional group of people you could ever HOPE to work with. They ALL should be skydivers. Anyone who has EVER worked on anything manned and knows the QA and procedures that go into engineering every last detail/part of those missions knows this to be true. Bill O was out on a witch-hunt tonight and was out to blame Clintonista appointees within NASA for mistakes made in the shuttle program. At least that's the gist I was getting. Granted, I'm a Libertarian (a hypocritical one in some cases) and lean towards the right - FAR towards the right in most cases - and don't really like most people Clinton appointed. However, Bill made no valid point that I could see on this issue. To pre-empt the myriad of lefties sure to take glee in this negative post on someone whom I've defended in the past, this doesn't mean I disavow (or totally agree with) anything Bill O has ever said. It means he's pissed me off and disgusted me right now. Using this horrid incident for political pandering is low class and disgusting. I put that right down with driving a girl off of a bridge and taking hours to notify the cops, cheating on one's wife/hubby, or selling classified info to the Chinese. Yes, said commentator has bashed lefties with apparent glee, but when he bashes conservatives with equal furor upon what basis do you derive your conclusion that he is a right winger? I do not see the rationale and wonder how you could. I CAN see the venom and hatred spewed by many lefties (not yourself) at FoxNews and while I can appreciate their frustration, the fervor with which they deride the organization is both unwarranted and remniscient of the fervor of Nazi's against the Jews. Calling it Prahvda - which precipitated Anvil entry into the thread - is an example of such.
