I haven't read much about the era recently, but wasn't one of the purposes of this EO to stop an assassination-war behind the scenes of the cold war? I remember something back there in the cobwebs but forget. Regardless, I don't think that would be the correct course of action to pursue with regards to the NKs, though it certainly has merit in some respects. Drink to that. I mused a bit with my brother (who knows more about such things than me) a possible pre-emptive strike with tactical nukes but neither of us found the idea palatable. Seems ugly any way you go. This stumped the two of us thoroughly, which is why I asked what all of you all thought. No worries dude. It basically says that the US won't engage in assassinations. Really brief synopsis, but that's the gist. www.cia.gov/cia/information/eo12333.html

I thought about that a little bit, but don't know enough about lower echelons of power over there to know how it would pan out. Has anyone written anything on the subject? Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  5. Not at all. Not at all my point and you know it. Reread what I wrote. You assume you are correct in the reason for the delay in reporting frenzy. A position I do not hold. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,98875,00.html More than anything else on the docket today, this disturbs me. This nation has nothing to export other than drugs and military equipment. No infrastructure. Little history of integrity with regards to treaties it signs. Unsure how the NK situation will pan out, but it is a difficult area of foreign policy upon which to postulate. Any thoughts as to how the US should proceed, anyone? Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  7. Did you mean count or court? Either way, your point is the same. Bush did court the Hispanic vote and got a significant amount of it. However, take look at the difference in tactics. At what point did GWB or any conservative or libertarian donor EVER urge anyone to identify themselves by their race, or display support of programs that do the same? Perhaps you can, but I can't recall seeing any. Such pervades democratic campaign propaganda. 'If they win, we lose' or 'our vote is our voice' and etc. To help you out a little, there is something GWB could have done to reduce racial discrimination in government - check out Adarand Constructors in a search engine and learn about the executive order authorizing racial discrimination in gov't contracting. GWB could rescind that EO and hasn't to the ire of right leaning folks like myself. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  8. I don't think that will happen, though I do hope it does. Ward Connerly is a great man with a great vision - a true civil right leader in today's field of wannabes. Along the same train of thought, Jerry Brown - mayor of Oakland - was on TV last night and had some good insights on CA politics. One thing he let slip, though was the democratic strategy of 'racial and group identity.' This struck a chord with me because it's something I've noticed for a while and one of the main reasons - among others - I do not support that party at all. The democrats encourage ethnic minorities to identify themselves by their race and not by their socio-economic status, mind, heart, or character. They do this in order to maintain ethnic minorities as easily targetable voting groups. This strategy harms America in more ways than I can even imagine. By using this tactic of racial identity, the democrats racially stratify America to the best of their ability during every election cycle. This harms America, and I have neither love, charity, use nor mercy for those who do that. Brown's admission of such a tactic publicly was therefore something of significance - at least to me. It tells me that senior people in that party - and Brown was a presidential candidate and CA governor - know what they are doing and don't care abotu its effects as long as they get elected. 9. I don't know about outlawing Islam, but I hold your assertion here untenable. You know as well as I and others that the Muslim ancestry he was referring to in his diatribe was in reference to Moorish invaders of Spanish territory. The purity of blood Steel was referring to is a bloodline free of Moorish influence. The Moors happened to be followers of Islam, hence his reference. Given the 700 year occupation of the territory by the Moors, it's amazing anyone could have blood free of Moorish influence, but I suppose it's possible. You're making some tenous at best connections to call him a racist, though I don't believe Islam should be outlawed. Someone is free to state such a position, though I do not agree with it. I've known a few muslims and found most of them to be good people. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  10. I thought racism was a belief in the superiority in one race over another. Judging someone by their race would be considered racial discrimination. Preconceived notions of a person based upon their race would be racial prejudice. All three are despicable.
  11. Dammit Steel! Have you made racist comments in other threads that I've missed? I can't remember any, but then again my photographic memory has been out of film for quite some time. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  12. I've dealt with such info before. Things do slip out - though very infrequently and never through me. Or didn't you see that nice gunship video a few months ago that the Pentagon was a bit irked about? Did you even read my question? You know for a fact that the entire purpose of the Novak interview was to reveal that bit of info so he would release it to the press? Gimme a break. You know better, as do I. Your assertion is laughable. I'd say a bit above that. Quite a bit above that. It -ABSOLUTELY- aids the enemy by helping them to clean up their security issues. It let's them know who to look for -- anybody she had contact with. And it does reveal our sources and methods. Really? All of her moves were tracked and recorded in every operation, every country she visited, all the time? You're living in a fantasyland of your own making. Neither you, I, nor anyone else at this point in time knows the full effect of the release of said information. The potential is there, but I feel it's low. Agreed. 13. Come on Steel! Anytime anyone conservative says anything contrary to liberal doctrine and the phrase 'African American' is included, they're obviously a racist! Dear Lord man! Get a grip on yourself. The fact that you neither judge anyone by their race for any reason nor support any program which does the same is irrelevant. You're conservative, therefore you're a racist! Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  14. Semantics. Yawn. How do you know this tidbit didn't just slip out? Do you know that the entire purpose of the interview in which this was gleaned was to release that bit of information? And how do you know that this tidbit of knowledge aids an enemy? You don't. I don't know - I assumed, and believe I assumed correctly. 12 hours in DC is a short turnaround time. We'll see, but I'd wager no DeletedEmailGate will come out of this. Your deletion diatribe is plausible, but not at all likely. True, but that sort of info would normally have to be requested. The only possible scenario I can imagine coming up would be one in which a senior White House person asked for a brief bio on Mr. Wilson and Mrs. Wilson's cover came up during it, but that sort of info is NOT common knowledge outside of Langley and few even in the WH would know it. The press isn't all left wing - Fox does an excellent job, as does NewsMax. I don't believe the press is leery of reporting anything controversial about the Bush administration. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  15. This is true. Bush supporters know this. So do Libertarians. Deliberately trying to harm the US by giving aid and comfort to an enemy? I doubt it seriously. Using knowledge gleaned due to one's position to attack someone politically in reprisal for doing his/her job? Possibly - sort of like the IRS auditing the Heritage Foundation four years in a row, eh? - but again doubtful. Nobody is avoiding the question - it's not the only pertinent question either. It's out there. The Bush Administration is cooperating and facing the issue head on. No lost emails (but then again Cheney never claimed to take the lead in inventing the internet) or any misplaced FBI files or anything of the sort. I think lefties are chortling over this because they've finally gotten themselves a pseudo-scandal to talk about. One wonders how the name of a specific CIA operative would ever be sequitur to a White House level briefing. The info he/she provides - sure. The name - who gives a rat's ass. That leads me to believe that this WAS a deliberate thing of some sort, but it still seems a bit odd and very, very out of place. That seems more like something a senior CIA official or member of an intelligence committee or agency would be privy to. One also wonders why such a long time passed between the column's release to the public and the current frenzy. 16. So she was a case agent. Hadn't heard that before. Is that a leak from Mr. Woolsey? Hope not. I've heard a lecture by him which was very impressive. He's a great speaker. You have no idea if this was intentional at all. Pure speculation on the part of all. You agree with the President here. You never answered my question - the answer is yes. All recent examples are pertinent and should be publicly examined to put that sort of thing in persepective. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  17. 'In the course of his news gathering, Novak has said, administration officials told him Wilson was sent at the suggestion of his wife, a CIA operative. Novak confirmed with the CIA that Wilson's wife was an employee there and printed her name despite the CIA's asking him not to do so. Novak said he was never told it would endanger her.' Taken from the following story: http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/10/01/wilson.cia/index.html About once a week approximately equals fifty times per year, for you Gore supporters out there, give or take a couple. If CIA confirmed with a reporter that Mrs. Wilson was an employee there, is her employment there classified? Or is Bob Novak not well known enough? Speaking of Bob Novak, let's see what he has to say on this issue: http://www.townhall.com/columnists/robertnovak/rn20031001.shtml Oh. Of course Fox would never put anything up that would damage a Republican in ANY manner...LMFAO. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,98780,00.html Also quite interesting: If Mrs. Wilson's maiden name - Plame - appears in Mr. Wilson's Who's Who in America entry and CIA officials confirm to a reporter that she is an employee, how can that be considered classified? Just wondering. Did CIA or the Administration spill the beans here? Or were any beans actually spilled? Important questions. Ones to consider when discussing this issue. Ones to which the answer should become apparent as the investigation progresses. Ones that none of the lefties on the national stage will address. When will Mr. Leahy be addressing the nation on this? Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  18. Yeah, they were prepared and waiting. Better than I'd hoped. Bush Administration is probably going to be in more hot water over this than their Iraqi-centric foreign policy among conservative circles. The level of distaste the other party arouses will probably mitigate either though, when it comes time to go to the polls. 19. I hadn't heard she's dead. When did this happen? 'In the know' would be more appropriate than 'in authority' as well. From the context of the story I heard it could be CIA, DEA, DIA, or agents from any of the three letter biggies - or others. Whatever the case, the sort of investigation is routine for the FBI - a special investigator for such a case is preposterous. It is the level and possible motive of the source that is noteworthy. Playing on words again. Tsk tsk tsk. Other than theories, you have no proof (yet) that political gain or revenge was the actual motive, though its certainly plausible. Tell me - who is threatening her life right now. Has someone used this information to kill other operatives or compromise them? How did you come to be in possession of such information? Don't be ridiculous. If you like we can get into this. I'll name numerous left leaning quotes from all sorts of 'regular media' and you'll respond with a bunch of right leaning quotes from FoxNews. Yawn. Larry Johnson's words. If it was a partisan attack, it should sicken everyone. The above in reference to Sen Leahy. Isn't it fitting when discussing a topic to bring up other examples in recent history? I think a nice history of recent leaks would be oh so nice of a story for Fox or CNN. Such discussions help to put things in perspective lest those ignorant of history become misled. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  20. MATLAB is pissing me off because the damned server it's on is down, so this is an interesting diversion. I got that off Fox this morning - I'll find a few links for you. By high government officials - probably not. The fifty times refers to the sort of investigation. Nice play on words. Yes there is - the tech transfer is by FAR more far-reaching and damaging. Don't play dumb, it's puerile. This was in response to your media stink and communist media quotes and you know it. How many CNN stories were run on Mr. Leahy? For the most part, yes. They tend to say intelligent things. You never mentioned anything about Mr. Leahy...why? Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  21. Yawn. Did you even read my post? Agreed. The FBI I'm sure will do a good job of it. They do this sort of thing quite often - about 50 times a year. Is something that happens 50 times a year always a big news story? I don't recall Leahy's being kicked off of the Intelligence committee for revealing classified information creating such a media frenzy. Like I said - I've been busy the past couple of days. If what Mr. Johnson is saying is correct, something bad has happened and someone needs to go to jail. As I said, we'll see. ...or lowered technology transfer standards for the Chinese to acquire satellite tech...interfered with a search of a Russian freighter that shot a Naval Intelligence officer with a laser...I can go on. I really like this next part: My own opinion. I stand by it. Regardless, important or not, if she was exposed in any way the leak should be plugged. If a crime has been committed, it should be investigated and the culprits prosecuted. The President said that too, by the way. If Libertarian candidates ever say anything as stupid as their buffoons have said in the past couple debates I'll seriously consider becoming an independent. They are desparate and should be - live with it. No, that's Boortz' opinion. Reread my post. I'll hold back on my judgement until later. Boortz could be right - he often is. FoxNews is doing a lot of reporting on this issue by the way. Does this mean they're tools of the right wing? Yep! See my comments on Leahy up above. And something might be rotten in Denmark as well. We shall see, as I said earlier. If the lefties screaming now had screamed loudly about such things previously, perhaps I'd take them more seriously. Why isn't Leahy screaming, by the way? I haven't heard him yet, but as I said, I've been a bit out of it for the past few days. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

  23. That's because some of us have been busy. My brother has been in town. The little shit ran TheAnvil into the ground quite handily this morning. Nobody should be able to run like that. The little fucker ran three miles, came and got me, then we ran six and he ran some more. Anyway, back to the matter at hand. The democrats are all up in arms about this - probably wanting to divert attention from the embarrassing statements of their candidates in the last two debates. Perhaps there's actually something to be up in arms about. Perhaps not - we shall see, I'm sure. However, considering the age of the person in question, the fact that Clandestine Trainee Service recruits for analysts and operatives, and because nobody has stated openly (to my knowledge; I've had company the last few days) if she was an overt or covert employee, I seriously doubt it. Neil Boortz, a fellow libertarian, had a few words on his website today concerning this: "The Democrats are making a big deal over the fact that the Justice Department is investigating the leak. This is nothing unusual. The CIA is obsessive about privacy, and every time the CIA feels that information about one of their operations or employees has been improperly leaked they ask for an investigation, and that request is almost always granted. There are about 50 such investigations a year. The fact that there's an investigation, then, is no huge news. Hitlary's dog-washer, Junior New York Senator Chuckie Schumer was seen yesterday pounding the "crime" drum. Schumer is taking great joy in proclaiming that someone in the Bush administration has committed a crime. But is that so? The law in question is the Intelligence Identities Protection Act. The law imposes a 10-year, $50,000 fine for those who transgress. Here are the three elements that must be satisfied for a crime to have taken place: The accused party must have made an intentional disclosure of the identity of the agent. They must know that the person they identified was actually an undercover agent The government (the CIA) must be taking measures to conceal this agent's relationship to the United States. Sorry ... no crime. How can you say that the CIA was making an effort to conceal this agent's relationship to the U.S. when they verified here employment to a reporter? Now ... if she actually had been an undercover agent, that relationship would never have been disclosed. It is really going to be interesting to see how long the media is going to play footsie with the Democrats in pushing this nothing story." My bet is that the democrats are making fools of themselves as usual, but I've been wrong before. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
