Nice job. The assholes you encountered are just small minded jerkoffs. Screw them. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

I thought she could have done a bit better, actually, and disagreed with what she said about the Russians being unprovoked. She also mispronounced the Iranian President's name. BFD. Overall she did well, though, with far tougher questions than Gibson asked the Chosen One. I think she'll make a fine VP. What really got me was the delta between the Obama questions and those asked of Palin. Disgusting disparity. Has ANYONE asked Senator Obama about his inexperience? If he's ready for the top job (not the VP job, leftists, the top one)? I doubt it. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Here, Bill...I'll help you: Obama questions: How does it feel to break a glass ceiling? How does it feel to "win"? How does your family feel about your "winning" breaking a glass ceiling? Who will be your VP? Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP? Will you accept public finance? What issues is your campaign about? Will you visit Iraq? Will you debate McCain at a town hall? What did you think of your competitor's [Clinton] speech? And the Palin questions: Do you have enough qualifications for the job you're seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders? Aren't you conceited to be seeking this high level job? Questions about foreign policy -territorial integrity of Georgia -allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO -NATO treaty -Iranian nuclear threat -what to do if Israel attacks Iran -Al Qaeda motivations -the Bush Doctrine -attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin] Why wasn't the good senator asked about his lack of experience, eh? I should think the difference obvious to everyone. I disagree with some of Governor Palin's repsonses, BTW. Have fun in denial!

That country has seen far more than its fair share of suffering. Hopefully this will be the start of a meaningful transition of power from Mugabe and his thugs to the opposition. That racist bastard Mugabe needs to exit stage left as soon as possible. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Charlie Gibson interviews Barack Obama Charlie Gibson interviews Sarah Palin Hello, left wingers and everyone! Just another reminder about our lovely unbiased mainstream media! At least they didn't edit the Palin interview to misquote her...OH WAIT...never mind. At least they haven't had anyone from CNN state a hope for her early demise ala Ms. Malveaux and Clarence Thomas. Yes, I know, left wingers. You say there is no bias in the media (except for Fox, as you say) in spite of any evidence that might be presented. That doesn't make it a correct statement. Just like your inferences that anyone who disagrees with your racist policies is themselves a racist will never be true. I know the above won't convince you - I just posted it there to add zest to your day. The rest of us will read and see the obvious. Enjoy! Bullshit. Name the pro-racist policies the republicans have supported. It wasn't the Civil Rights Act - they supported in higher percentages than democrats. It wasn't the voting rights act either. Name the policies. Democrats, in contrast, have chosen to openly support racist policies (affirmative action). Also, please tell us how GWB, John McCain, and bigots $harpton and Jack$on are in any way the same. Race has no place in American life or law. It's a non-sequitur. The second a critical mass of people start believing that, the world will be a better place. Discriminatory policies such as those espoused by democrats run counter that fundamental principal of racial equality and should therefore be opposed with fervor. Very odd opinion you have there. I see the Democrats as the historically racist party. Racists Jack$on, $harpton and Farrakhan have all been stalwart supporters of that party. The party incessantly includes support of racial discrimination under the guise of affirmative action as part of its platform. Its members run like cowards vice state what they support - racial discrimination. They hide like cowards behind the LIE that if you don't support affirmative action, you are a racist (the opposite is indeed true). Time and again they elected a former KKK member in the state of West Virginia. The fact is that both parties have their racists. The republicans ostracize theirs, whereas the democrats embrace theirs openly out of fear of driving their votes away. There are racists that won't vote for Senator Obama because of his color. Shame on them. There are racists who will vote for Senator Obama because of his color as well. Shame on them too. Both are equally fucked in the head. I don't think they're Draconian at all, but think as you like. I always do.

I think military members and veterans will have differing views of all sorts. The kid did a very powerful video. I don't think Sen. McCain hates airline pilots, though I do believe he doesn't like unions abusing their power and would be quick to use Taft-Hartley if required to do so for the good of the country.

This thread is pretty sad, but typical of what's been about these days. Hmph. There are despicable people supporting both McCain and Obama. Neither McCain nor Obama agree with the despicable opinions any microcosm of their supporters might hold - in all likelihood. Sarah Palin KNOWS God's Plan! Pray for a Gas Pipeline!
TheAnvil replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
The guest speaker point again eludes you. People are indeed responsible for their own words and not those of others. They are also responsible for their actions - such as tolerating repeatedly racist and despicable remarks from regular speakers for organizations to which they belong (notice I said regular and not guest speaker; quite salient) and their continued association with such organizations. Minor point, Bill, and it's already moot as the PR arm of the Obama campaign - OOPS! I meant the mainstream media; so easy to interchange the two given their identical goals - has seen to it that few are paying attention. -

TheAnvil replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
No you don't get it. You're deliberately ignoring the difference for reasons of your own - an avoidance mechanism one might say - and not facing the fact that 'God damn America' is not the only despicable thing Rev. Wright put out from his pulpit. Ignore facts as often as you like - facts they do remain. How about a link of sorts to all of this information you quote? Sarah Palin KNOWS God's Plan! Pray for a Gas Pipeline!
TheAnvil replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
Ahhh...I DO have to explain the difference between guest speaker and resident pastor! Tsk tsk tsk. But first...you know Governor Palin was in attendance...how, exactly? Curious. It's not in anything you've posted thus far. Perhaps it's from CNN...we see how we'll they're doing with their unbiased[sic] coverage of her. I've never said that being in a church where radical sermons are delivered by guest speakers is a bad thing. I've listened to many guest speakers with whom I disagree in several venues. I maintain forever that continual attendance of a church where frequent radical and despicable statements are made by a racist IS indicative of the character of those regularly attended. Who, was that again? For years? Senator Obama! See? I answered my OWN question. I'm so fucking sexy. I should answer my own questions more often...it would save me the disappointment when others refuse to answer, regardless of how simple they are. And her comments in 2008, sir John?

TheAnvil replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
Darius, if you think I sit around waiting to answer posts, you've got one HELL of a misconception (hint; I don't). Here's a fact for you: this was not the link presented by Quade - the post to which I was responding. Yet another fact for you: I don't know if this is even Governor Palin's church or not. Do you? When you prove me wrong, I'll admit it. And why didn't YOU answer my questions? There only a few of them - some of them yes or no at that. Bill et al, if you'd read the sermon you posted, you'd see it was given by a guest speaker placed on the calendar three years in advance. Hint: guest speaker and not the resident pastor is the key here. I can compare and contrast the difference if you like, but hope it's unnecessary. I don't agree with much of what the man said, truth be told, but neither do I take this as an endorsement of Governor Palin to such beliefs as I don't even know this is her church. Is it the only one in Wasilla? I don't know and doubt you do either. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! -
Proven disaster? Odd. John McCain has been a long time advocate for spending restraint. I don't agree at all and wonder how you get that, actually. With regard to earmarks, perhaps you should read up a bit on John McCain's running mate: Bridge to Nowhere - Alaska Democrats credit Governor Palin for axe-ing it Earmarks, eh? Oh, those earmarks And on Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama as well WRT earmark spending...though I'll grant you Sen. Obama's is a bit skewed due to his very, very, very limited time in the Senate. But that makes Sen. McCain's record oh so much more impressive given his vast experience in comparison to his opponent. As luck would have it, Senator Biden's rather smashing rating may also be found here. Citizens Against Government Waste ratings on Sen. McCain and Obama Really wondering how anyone could look at the delta between Messrs. McCain and Obama and think the latter would be the most fiscally responsible. Happy reading...

Hmmm...I don't think it's a bad idea, but I don't think we'll see a riot. Training is never a bad thing, but I think the likelihood quite small. Senator Obama, to his credit, seems to have steered the discourse away from his race and onto issues. I'm quite pleased by that and I think it's something to admire about the man - probably what has bigots $harpton and Jack$on at odds with him, truth be told. Je$$e wouldn't have wanted to castrate him had the Senator been playing the race pimp line and soliciting Je$$e's help in doing so (Anvil opinion; it's dead on).

What a fucktard. Vote for someone who supports socialization of medicine and more entitlement programs vice Congress' chief critic of earmark spending? In hopes of restoring budget sanity? That's pretty clairvoyant of you Bill. The linked video doesn't show the preacher making any such comments. From whence did you get that? And no answers to my questions from you either. Tsk tsk tsk. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! -
I see...try reading something other than left wing blogs (or the LA Times) and get back to us...

I ask eight questions and get zero answers. Many of them yes or no. Do you not like my questions? Or is it what the answers infer about your argument that you don't like? -
You REALLY should read up on John McCain and Sarah Palin a bit.

Sarah Palin KNOWS God's Plan! Pray for a Gas Pipeline!
TheAnvil replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
Not so twisted as the rationale that might have problem with what she said, I do believe. I think you heard what you want to hear - hoping for a "God damn America" no doubt - and not what she actually said. What I heard is that Governor Palin hopes God had a plan for Iraq and that God's will be done, a pipeline would hopefully be laid. I also heard her clearly differentiate her role as governor from the role of the Church -a role for which she clearly had great zeal; nothing wrong with that. How IS the reverend Wright these days? Doing well? And the Reverend Jack$on and his good friend Reverend $harpton? Mr. Farrakhan too - is he well? Do you think Governor Palin will deny knowing this pastor in whose church she spoke? Recant anything she said in that church? Do you think the pastor, Governor Palin, or other church leaders will call for its members to damn America, support racial discrimination, make anti-Semetic comments, or anything of that nature? Will the church pastor spit in someone's food because he doesn't like their color perchance? Just curious. -
I have many far better reasons not to vote for him.

FY09 Federal Deficit estimated at $406 billion
TheAnvil replied to livendive's topic in Speakers Corner
Think that's it? I think it will end up being more. Public debt has not decreased in a long, long time (yes, I know El Jefe Clintonista had a surplus; debt did not decrease - deal with it). Adding entitlement programs will not make the debt go down. Nor will making corporate taxes so draconian that multinationals are driven out of country taking jobs along with them.
