Put that man on flintstones chewables! Jesus Jaye that was scary! I felt kind of the same way last week. I was at my parents, taking care of my mom who had just come out of surgery. My dad drank something that went down the wrong way and was coughing, turning purple, trying to talk, but he was coughing. Thought he was going to cough up his guts. I couldn't do a damn thing other than wait for him to cough it up. -

I'll be there Saturday after I'm finished at work. Was going to go to chicks rock but something about my hospitals needing to bill medicare is forcing me to work instead. Not that you care, Lee.. but Turtle cried when he thought I wouldn't be there. I hate to see a grown man cry. -

Nah.. Jay thought I was talking about someone who I was not even thinking about, and he was getting all defensive. For the RECORD, I will not name names, but person I referred to in my initial example is not an Atlanta skydiver (anymore). She spent all of her money on a lawyer trying to get her kid back and she had to quit the sport.

That would have been great if you were the judge in my friend's custody trial. However, the judge typically puts the welfare of the children before the social life of the single parent.

Read my edit. I know you are a single parent and thats where your perspective comes from. But I've had the unfortunate experience of being in court to support my friend as her ex was granted full custody of her boys. I'd hate to see that happen to anyone else.

No, I specifically said "relative", not the other parent. And every other weekend when the child is with the other parent, sure, no problem. Thats not every weekend though is it? edit to add: the example I used does paralell what is happening to BS. Any single parent who is more concerned with living a single lifestyle than they are with their kids, is putting themselves in the exact same position that BS did. BS just has the unfortunate bonus of the media. I'm not saying that anyone DESERVES to lose their kids. I am saying that it DOES HAPPEN. It happened to one of my best friends. So yeah I'd rather point it out to someone who is making the same mistakes, than just defend them because theyre single and can do whatever they want. Thats bullshit.. they still have responsibilities as parents, 24/7.

Are we still talking about Britney? Cause I can think of more than one example of newly divorced women who "find themselves" in skydiving and kiddos fall down the priority list behind skydiving, partying, new boyfriends, etc. You can't tell me that kids aren't affected by mommy dumping them off with relatives so they can go skydiving every weekend and justify it by saying they spend all week with their kid(s). Since when is parenting a M-F job?

Andy, I know you jump alot when you are stateside, but how current do you stay when you're in the UK? I'd rather you stay with a little more nylon over your head for the times when you are less current than watch you go fast just because you're here for a couple of months. At least keep your Diablo and use it as a backup. Other than that, just demo demo demo.. til you find the right canopy for you. Easier said than done, I know. I still dont think I've found the right canopy.
