  1. I've found that the drop zone is a lot like church. People originally go to church to worship God and find fellowship with other Christians. People originally go to the drop zone to skydive and find fellowship with other skydivers. The more you go to church and study the Bible, the more educated you become about Christianity. The more you go to the drop zone and study the SIM, the more educated you become about skydiving. The more you go to church, the more obsessed with Christianity you become. You start teaching sunday school classes, vacation bible school, become a deacon, board member, sing in the choir, etc. Anytime the church doors are open, you're there selling cookies or setting up tables and chairs for the next potluck dinner. Before you know it, you're involved in church politics and its drama drama drama. The more you go to the drop zone, the more obssessed with skydiving you become. You get your coaches rating, teach first jump courses, help plan boogies, recruit people from other drop zones to come to your boogies, organize hit and chugs, form smaller sects of the community like Rodriguez, muff, pink mafia, etc. Before you know it, you're involved in the dz politics and its drama drama drama. Your church friends become your best friends and sometimes your only friends.. as long as you show up to church. Your dropzone friends are your best friends and sometimes your only friends, as long as you show up to the drop zone. Then theres the Christmas and Easter church goers. They're not very current so the chruch in-crowd doesn't really pay attention to them or make them feel like a part of the church. Just like theres the boogie goers. They're not very current so the dz in-crowd doesn't really pay attention to them or make them feel like a part of the sport. I could go on and on... but do I have to? Some of us do the religious "thing", some of us do the skydiving "thing". Some of us do both. Whatever fulfills your spiritual needs. Merry Christmas.
  2. Beezy gave so much to this sport, he deserves at least this memorial page. I sent a donation to the farm, but if we're still short on the 28th, let me know and I'll send as much more as I can.
  3. Hey Bob.. not to contradict you because I know what you're saying.. but I think everyone knew that. Thats why we couldnt help but love being around him. Its hard not to love someone with such a big heart. He had fun getting a rise out of people, and would keep prodding until he made them laugh. He liked to know what was going on with everyone.. not only because he gossiped like a little girl , but because he cared. He was happy, and he wanted his friends to be happy.
  4. Hi George.. yes that is the photo I was thinking of. Kristi Martin has a print of it, and I was going to get her to scan it, but if you've already got it scanned, thats great.
  5. I think you have me confused with McBeth my dear... although I was pretty drunk the past 2 weekends, pretty sure I didn't flash any boobies. And I can't believe you'd stick me on an island with Spence and Billy! I thought we were friends.. man!
  6. When you don't know who to laugh at, it isn't funny anymore.
  7. Bwhahahaha!! I am so going to kick your ass BOB!! Both of y'all can DREAM ON!!! .. and I'm sure you will.
  8. Tanya.. do you know who is designing his page? Theres a photo of Beezy, Chris Martin, and George Galloway that represents at least 10 years of Beezy's life.. its a great photo. I'd like to get a copy of it to the designer.
  9. I sent out about 60 this year. Mostly to people I dont see very often. I write a personal note in each. I dont think they're required but I enjoy doing them. I think people who don't enjoy sending them, shouldn't send them. I wouldn't.
  10. Tanya.. thank you for getting this going. I've been thinking about Beezy a lot lately. My donation is on the way.
  11. Still have a question. Call me if you do. Although I'll probably tell you the same thing Krisanne did.
  12. It is gorgeous oustide! I wish I could get out of work. Doing an airport pickup tonight as well. See you in the morning.
  13. I'm going to be helping ACME out by taking orders for Lee's closing pins. So please see me, tell me how many you want, and if you can pay for them up front, that helps out a lot. $12 each.
  14. Will you remember me? Hey you know.. theres a whole other thread in events where people say theyre coming...
  15. Ironic.. considering the title of his thread...
  16. Me too. I thought about correcting her, then realized shes ignorant enough to print info about Brandy.
  17. I just noticed this little gem in that article: "Attempts to find family members in Tallahassee were unsuccessful." While its totally untrue, its almost better to print that and protect Brandy, than to print her name and wherabouts. Why she had to say anthing about it in the article is beyond me though.
  18. Bumping, if you want to watch it.
  19. I'll be happy to make another crock pot full of something good.
