You and I both know. People buy Dolphins because they are easier on the wallet. No other reason to get one. Not with all the other far safer and superior rigs on the market. Bet the dude you were talking with wishes he has spent the extra cash in the first place. Dom

True enough. I just remember watching some of those dudes look like they wanted to kill themselves. I dont mean that in the normal..."Oh Shit! Im in basic training!" kinda of wanting to kill yourself. These dudes really wanted to. Plus they start off on the overweight program and once on that. You only get one more chance before you are booted out for getting big again. Dom

Unless things have changed since I joined (1989). They will not let him in if he doesnt meet the standard. I had one of my best friends have his entry date delayed because he was overweight. I did see fat boys in basic though. They were not happy campers for sure. Drill Sgts. used to take food off their plates and give it to the skinny folks. Some that didnt lose weight ended up in a special platoon where all the basically did was work out. They either got into shape or where shipped home. His best bet is to lose the wieght now. It is no fun being fat and out of shape in basic training. Dom

I dont agree with a lot that JP says. BUT... he is not what you say him to be. JP is a very good skydiver in all discipline, from being an AFF instructor, bigway flyer, freeflyer, wingsuiter, swooper and TI. He may not be the most tactful person in the world but you know where he stands on an issue and I respect that. IMHO you are the type of skydiver by supporting the TI in question that gives this sport a really bad name. Especially when a student ends up being killed because someone thought this would be cool to do. Dom

Most of the people that have commented on this CAN and DO a lot for this sport and are VERY good experienced skydivers. That actually like to see the sport progress. Just not at the expense of a student that really has no clue to the extra danger that this type of jump will put them in. The TM should not only lose his ratings, but may even be guilty of reckless endangerment. If he had did this with one of my friends or relatives. I would have them sue him for everything he is worth. I doubt it. You don't know who you are talking to. The TM in this pick is reckless and I bet has an ego the size of the moon. Dom

I just realized that last week was the season finally. Your wrong about things being wrapped up neatly though. Here is a serious answer for ya. My dad worked in the "fat" ward when he was in the Army at Ft. Lewis. He told me a story of a guy that used to have to use a toilet bowl brush to wipe. Would wrap it in TP. His arms just were not long enough to reach. Dom
