These are just the latest in a string of incidents that began on Valentine's Day, when thousands of travelers were stranded on planes for up to 10 hours at all three New York City-area airports, JFK, LaGuardia and Newark. "It's horrifying to think that that kind of power can be wielded against you and you have literally no recourse," Murray said. In the past, Congress has attempted to pass a passenger's bill of rights with no success, but last week New York state passed its own law. The law requires that airlines at New York airports provide snacks and water, fresh air and working restrooms to passengers when flights are delayed more than three hours. Failure to do so can result in fines to the airline of up to $1,000 per passenger. The law will likely protect travelers from states other than New York because millions of flights make connections at New York City airports. *** What did they want them to do. It was a weather diversion! They bitch that they were not provided food. I am sure they got fed during flight but. They demand to be let off the plane. I dont know what kind of set up you guys got so I am not going to speculate. But if really must know just ask the pilot if it has a turbo or when her has the cowl open during a pre-flight in the morning take a peak in and see if you can find the turbo. As for the manifold pressure, there are a lot of factors in that. One will be what the pilot has the prop pitch at will determine how much manifold your pulling. As for the 300hp upgrade I have never heard of that on a 182. Doesnt mean there isnt one out there I just have never seen one. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

The Boyd Group is a aviation consulting firm in Colorado. Mike Boyd wrote an article on the FAA. I think he has a lot of great valid points and should be listened to just a little. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

No worries, we all do. The point I am trying to make in all of this is the govt is not going to solve a damn thing. What happens when the govt after they get everybody on board starts to decide what kind of care you get. They will have complete control and you thought fighting the insurance companies was a pain in the ass. Try the govt. From the govt agencies I deal with on a daily basis most of them are so bloated with bureaucratic bullshit it is almost enough to put you in a institution. One comes to mind that everybody has to deal with and thats the IRS. Imagine your health care turning into a department like that. That is something I never want. I deal with the FAA a lot. The inspector himself is an alright guy but that department is a joke when it comes to getting things done and all the red tape you have to go through. TSA is a complete joke and should be shut down in my opinion. But thats for another thread. I want to govt to be as far away from my personal life as possible. They know to much as it is with all the background checks that I have been going through for my security access and customs badges. I dont think the system is broken my friend. But there is always room for lots of improvement. I think a lot of the problem is people who scam the system, lawsuits and a bunch of other things that stop it from going to that next level of quality. It works for corporations it would work in the healthcare system. Once again not if the govt is involved. I agree. The problem is the govt doesnt care what the costs are. They just tell you they need to raise taxes. They dont care about efficiently. Look at the FAA, TSA, FEMA just to start if you want to see how they waste money like its going out style. Earlier in the thread you said Sounds like a lot of others were picking up the tab now your pissed you have to pay yourself. I feel for you. I went about 9 moths without insurance and got hurt snowboarding. It sucks man. It took me a couple years to pay off the bill but I got it done. But I made a choice to snowboard without insurance. I took a gamble and I lost. Iwould have loves to pay a $100 deductable instead of the whole bill. What was funny about that was I was joking with a friend about a week before it happened saying that I am probably going to mees myself up since I dont have insurance. Should have kept my mouth shut.
