I dont know. The final report is not out yet. That probably will take a couple years. But from most crashes I have read about or incidents it never seems to be 1 thing that caused a crash. It always seems to be a line of things that. It seems that with possible pitot or static ports iced up, flight computers going to alternate modes, Capt not in the seat, see it's a list of things that contribute but the final report is what I will read. All I am reading now is stuff that could have caused and led up to the crash. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Hell a lot of planes as you know have stick pushers now. I remember in the CRJ the amount of force to override the pusher would damn near pull me out of the seat and I weigh 185lbs. It's one hell of a tug. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

I cannot say for sure about the A330 cause I'm not up to speed on that one but the 757, 67, and triple are all auto. It operates with ice detectors and the WOW (Weight on Wheels) or squat switch. The 737 actually has a switch to manually turn it on. But for how much automation the A330 had in it I assume it is set up somewhat close to the triple. It is operating normally but it it fails you should get a "Master Caution" light. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Like i said the Human factor. I still havent learned why the pitot iced up to begin with. Those things are hot as hell. I still have a scar on my hand when I accidently touched one and burned the hell out of my hand. But humans sometimes do weird things even though the machine is telling them there is a problem. The Colgan flight in Buffalo is a great example. The thing was telling them they were in a stall but the Captain was still fighting the stick pusher. Ours did the same thing. On Christmas morning she would pester us until we unwrapped her bone then she would carry it to the corner and wouldnt be heard from for hours. She was a happy dog! If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Just goes to show that no matter how smart or "Fail Safe" they make planes us humans will always find a way to fuck it up. I almost wish it was something mechanical. We have always gotten out German Shepherd a gift for Christmas. We usually get a toy, bag of snacky treats and a HUGE bone. She knows whats hers cause she lays with her nose about 1/2 inch away from it but doesnt touch it. One of these years we will have a dog that doesnt give a shit and will just tear it open. Yeah, the fine print is a bitch. Things like alignment, brake pads or shoes, clutch disk (If you have a stick) and a list of other things will not be covered. They are considered "Wear and tear items". As for the hubcap I have seen them fall off for no reason. I would just buy a new cap and forget about it. They probably wont give you one. Update on the weather. Looks like a crummy weekend here. Time to put to motorcycle up for the year and start getting it ready for thr track in the spring. From Weather.com "Rain. Why just politicians? Why should they be allowed to do something for protection but not me? What gets me now is in my home state of MI I had my CCP, am able to carry in a number of other states, former Army Infantry, been to countless NRA and other shooting classes and competition, never had anything more than a speeding ticket about 10 years ago but now here in the state of New Jersey I cannot do anything with a handgun.
