  2. Hi everyone, I recently had a bad experience because I didn´t have my chest strap tight enough, I just wanted to share with you. At every dropzone I´ve been to, people I jump with ALWAYS tell me that I don´t have to tighten my chest strap as much as I do. After a while I thought that maybe they were right.. So I loosened it a little to see if it was better. It was still pretty tight and no one thought it would be a problem. I asked many instructors, and they actually said I could loosen it more, but I kept it medium tight. On a solo jump, doing head-down head-up transitions I suddenly felt the part of the rig that´s over my shoulder (sorry about my bad english) comes down to my elbow on my left arm, and just below my shoulder on my right arm. There was absolutely no risk of falling out of the harness. Actually, the rig held me very very well- that was the problem, my left arm was really stuck. So the problem was that I couldn´t move my left arm at all, and my right arm not freely. I went belly-to-earth and tried to pull the rig back with my right arm. I could not move my right arm all that good either and because of the big pressure on the rig, just couldn´t do it. I went to head-up position and I think the wind helped me by loosen the pressure a little bit. Then I managed to pull up the rig with my right hand. Back in my rig at 3300, I was happy that it happened at a good altitude. If it had been lower and on my right arm, I hadn´t been able to pull my main. I now know exactly how much I have to tighten my chest strap, for this not to happen again. When I do hop and pops or when I do FS I can have it looser. When I´m under canopy I also loosen it. But when I´m freeflying I keep it as tight as I know I have to. Still people tell me over and over again that I have to loosen my chest strap, even when I tell them that I need it tight and explain why…I guess it´s something most people learned as students and are convinced that it applies to everyone with any gear. I know will be very careful to tell someone to loosen their chest strap if the person person is small and has a rather low chest strap, or if the person has very small shoulders compared to the rig.
  3. Hi I´m new to crew and wonder a bit about what the statistics says: How often do skydivers have to cut-away while doing crew: - on opening - because of wrap/entanglement - other Which is the biggest risk group, experienced skydivers who fly aggressively, or fresh skydivers doing stupid mistakes?
  4. I try not to fall asleep. Flying is good for reading books. Or to eat something- fruit, icecream or a sandwich. I really enjoy listen to my friends singing in the airplane. I also practice the jump mentally a few times on the way up. If there is a co-pilot seat, the best thing to do on the way up is of course to practice how to fly the airplane!
  5. ..yesterday by committing suicide (non-skydiving related). He was our neighbor as well.. When we were younger, like 6-12, we were best friends and spent every day together.I have shared some of my best memories with her and her family. Then we moved away from each other and did only talked a couple of times/ year. We never had a fight or anything, we just didn´t keep the relationship so close anymore. Have anyone had this experience? Should I contact her even though we haven´t had close contact with each othter the last years? Or is it not my business, maybe she get angry? Or should I wait to talk to her? What do you tell someone who lost her father far too early and in such an awful way? Any good advise is welcome

    Women suck

most women/men suck sometimes. that´s why I always have my favorite friend right next to my bed: my dildo Knut, who satisfy me better than any man or woman.
  7. "If I want to start skydiving, isn´t it better to start practicing from lower altitudes. Like from a bridge or a small mountain." But I have realized that sometimes when I think a whuffo question is funny, it can be my interpretation of the question that is funny, not necessarily the question itself. When talking with people one doesn´t know well, maybe it´s better to presume that their questions are intelligent. And maybe find out that the question with an ”obvious” answer, actually might not be trivial at all.. Sometimes it can add an interesting aspect!
  8. Is it possible to search for a word in the subject line, and only get links to the first posts in each thread? I think that would be efficient when there are lot of threads about the word and lots of replys on every. /Emma
  9. I´m so relieved! I have always been scared of the polar bears. But now I know I can relax.
  10. Me and my friend made our own. It was fun, it didn´t make us look like clones of the rest of the dz, and and best of all: cheap (I´m a poor and stingy student). Bad thing: It took long time to make it. Maybe next time I´ll be lazy and just pay someone to do the work
  11. hey, freeflying is real fun, isnt it! I´ve got two links that you can check out: Babylon- a guide to freeflying skydivemag: headupflying If you want to find more information online, one tip is to check out freefly teams home pages. Maybe you´ll also find somewhere you would like to go to get good coaching.
