It was awesome last year, I´m looking forward to 2004 already
-
For me it has been twice in 600 jumps, both time because of bad fitting goggles, got wind and tears in my eyes. First time I lost both, second time I lost one. Belly jumps. But, I have also done some full altitude head-up jumps without goggles, and I didn´t lose my lences... So maybe it was just bad luck that I lost them when I had goggles!

I think RW experience can be valuable when you start learning freeflying. I did RW-jumps as often I had someone to jump with in the beginning. It´s easier to learn turns, learn to think quicker about what´s happening around, to become more conscious. Things happens so fast in freeflying, the less things that distract you the better. On solo jumps, when I didn´t have any RW-jumper to play with, I practiced freeflying. Now it´s almost only freeflying!

I think my helmet is good in at least three situations *collisions with other jumpers in the air. This has happened more than once, often right after exit if things don´t go as it is planned, or a hard dock, or just get a foot in the head or something like that. *hitting my head into something in the airplane on a fast exit. I.e. if one run out of a airplane with a small door, or climbing outside the airplane and fall *bad landings.

What are some of your Favorite Skydiving Dreams
tosca replied to Casch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I dream about skydiving pretty often. -
A guy landed in someones garden. It turns out that the owner of the house is one that really hate skydivers and try to get rid of the dropzone because he think our airplanes make too much noise. He called the police, took a video camera and filmed the "crime", illegal access to private property, and he kept the skydiver in his back yard until the police came... I´ve got a pull-up cord, money and phone number to the dz and the local ambulance in the rig. And some rubber bands. Why not, all those things are so small and thin that I don´t even notice that I carry them with me. I´m thinking of bringing a cell phone, I have wanted to have one every time I´ve landed out. When other people land out, it´s so nice when they call back to the dz and tell us they had a good landing and that they try to get a ride back or something like that. I don´t know where to have my cell phone though...

Do you bring anything that would be good to have in case you land out? For example money, cell-phone, pull up chord, phone number to the dz or anything else? Never, only on special jumps, or always?

Is it hard to get to sleep the night after 1st jump
tosca replied to zerojumps's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The week before I started the course, I could wake up thinking about how it would feel like to jump! After my first jumping day I was tired, felt very satisfied and had a great, relaxed sleep. -
I have jumped a Sabre 135 for 500 jumps. I have only had 2 hard openings. My openings in general are a little fast, but not slamming. I tried another sabre for 10 jumps. Same size, same age, same number of jumps as my canopy, but I got really hard openings every jump. Maybe it was just coincidences, too few jumps to know, but it seemed like different canopies could act differently.

How do you prefer your partner (man or woman): Shaved? Natural? Any special "haircut" that you find sexy? And how about yourself? Just curious and I want some inspiration

I bought my gear at my 15th student jump. It was the end of the skydiving season that year and I thought it would be a better idea to buy used gear that time of the year, I´m a stingy student A half year later when I started jumping again, it felt very nice to have the rig waiting for me. When I landed after my jump 25 I could just put on MY

At what jump number did you start CRW?
tosca replied to ladyskydiver's topic in Canopy Relative Work
I had about 500 jumps before I tried it. It was awesome! I have only done 10 crw-jumps so far, but I have learned lot of new things about canopy control in general already. -
...but not having a serious relationship. Could that work? Or is it impossible to not get problems. Any experience or advise is welcome!

"FF" by Kent just love their music

there is some bootie-flying in the end of the short movie ready set oops if you want to see how it looks like.
-
I´ve tried it a couple of times, it´s fun, isn´t it? Do you know how to do a head-up exit from a c-206? I do a normal head-up exit, but in a knee-flying position. The drag from the booties is pretty big, so for me it was more difficult than a sit-exit. I try to think breath, relax, be heavy. Wide arms help me keep balance, straight back (no arching) and keep heading, booties into the relative wind. Ask someone that jump after you to film the exit. Maybe you can improve your exits by getting some advise about knee-flying in general at this site have fun!!

Which is the best way to hold someone in a stable head-up, if the person can´t freefly?

4 (number of birthday cakes I have eaten):0:0 I haven´t done the first skydive of the year yet!! It´s blue sky and the only I can think of is skydiving. But I´ve had some fun this week anyway: I´m salubrating my 22th birthday

ooops, glad you´re okey! I don´t like big clouds like that at all, I´m too scared of collisions . I once ended up tracking and pulling my parachute in clouds - I´ll do my best to avoid that to happen again! I´d prefer to keep my parachute dry in a situation like that... We also got other traffic in the air and bad alternative landing areas, maybe you´ve got a better dropzone. I hope you´ve got more luck with the weather next jump! Have fun with your new canopy
-
first jumped: manta 288 first owned: sabre 135 I have not even jumped a round parachute yet, gotto try it someday so I know what you guys are talking about
-
I think it could be pretty many things to consider though.. It would take a LOT of tests and good knowlegde of aerodynamics to find out the equation, wouldn´t it? I thought that maybe someone else already had done that, somewhere in the world. I´m a bit lazy My idea was to try to guess the airspeed by calculation and see how accurate such a guess could be, maybe by using some kind of GPS. I was thinking about the air speed. But why not test both
-
I´m would like to calculate what forward speed my canopy has with different weights. Anyone who can help me with this?
-
it´s a javelin, -91 It´s in good condition, just a little too big for me if I don´t tighten my chest strap. Except that it could be less comfortable and not cool, could it be any problems if I have my chest strap tight?
-
* any word you like Says who? Since you used it, it exist.

I think it can be both- even at the same time! Sometimes non-skydivers I have talked to think skydiving is dangerous in ways that it is pretty safe, and on the other hand can´t see some of the biggest risks. Therefore it can be a challenge to answer some whuffo questions about safety without giving the curious person totally wrong picture of the sport.
