ooo, what do I win? Really though; the more I read the first post where she says... ...the more I feel scared for her. grlsgotalot2lrn; please, please rethink that conclusion.

not just part of the list - leader of the list: source: http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/capital-punishment

I'd place myself on neither side of the gun debate... or on both sides... or - ah whatever. I'm in a group of my own. Not a bad article, I wouldn't argue in the slightest with 95% it. A couple of its conclusions are a little abrupt mind. Posters above are right though – its partiality really will come under attack if it's ever subject to scrutiny. I do find it a little odd that it continually cites newspapers rather than the government study on which the newspaper is reporting. That really is strange... why not just go straight to the official report?

It is. I don't have particularly strong views on the death penalty. I do think suspects should be provide with at least competent legal representation though. Read up on the problems - there are many sites dedicated to them. One to start with could be http://www.amicus-alj.org/ I guess posting them here is a way I can atone for repeatedly avoiding being recruited by them.

Yeah, but oral sex is ilegal in Pennsylvania...

I just had a really amusing thaught. Sangiro should have Michael Moore join up to this website. As a member of the forum, bashing him would be instantly banned. This would cut 3% of total site traffic. The MM supporters wouldn't be insulted and argue back - cutting a further 6% of the site traffic. The MM haters would equally have no posts to argue with and a another 6% of site traffic would go. Sangiro could then cut his bandwith expenditure by 15% and save a whole load of money he could put into expanding the site or hell - just jump.

or http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Use-of-death-penalty-worldwide Nice list to be part of. Find anywhere in the list you'd rather live? Elswhere on the site you can find this heart warming quote: "Only seven countries practice the death penalty for juveniles, that is criminals aged under 18 at the time of their crime. Nearly all actual executions for juvenile crime take place in the USA"
-
what if they introduced a national law?
-
The point is they shouldn't be on the statute books - they should be removed. The problem is that the whitehouse is stoking itself so full of religious fervour that there's a very real possability that the US is looking at MORE of these laws on the books rather than less.
-
Ah... they just need a good shagging.

You don’t necessarily need a double din stereo. You could just spend $5 on a blanking plate, or storage tray. If Dodge doesn’t do one for your specific car there will be loads of different generic ones available. Or you could have a friend make one from scratch – all you’d need is a section of aluminium or whatever would match your car’s interior. See these ebay items for examples. OK they're over in the UK, but I'd bet you could find the same thing locally. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1498&item=5734769502&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1498&item=5735448632&rd=1

called an atomised particular explosion isn't it? ...Something that would normally only produce a combustion explosion actually detonates... ?

As the topic been raised can I put in a quick plea to you, as a Nation, to petition for better provision for good quality legal representation for death row inmates. Please. The UK sends lawyers over to the US in the same way that the US sends aid workers to a third world nation. Think about that for a moment – the world’s legal community sees your country’s death row legal representation in the same way as you look at starving kids in Africa. I have friends who have gone over at their own expense to help with the representation of American convicts. There is a whole community of lawyers over here committed to charitably giving their help to what is seen by the international community as a system that deprives those most in need of legal advice. Everyone disserves competent legal representation – especially when faced with charges that would result in their life being ended. If you want to be certain of these convictions and of the eventual execution of these people you MUST give them competent lawyers. Sadly appropriate representation is far from common... what there is relies on the support of international aid! Back to your thread.

The smartest thing you can do is treat everything in this sport as if it will kill you. All the things you mention CAN kill you... if you're not careful it's only luck that keeps them from doing so. I prefer not to rely on luck if I can help it.

I don’t agree that it boils down to removing imperfections from the population. I grew up in the countryside at the height of Britain’s myxomatosis epidemic. From an early age I was acutely aware of the humanity inherent in a well-placed boot atop the head of a suffering bunny. As a child I dispatched many such a wretched creature. My action wasn’t motivated at all by a desire to eliminate myxi from the rabbit population, or because the animal was in any way host to undesirable, weak myxi-susceptible genes. I did it because the poor fucker was dying a slow, painful and miserable death – one which I would not have wish upon it. Removing it from the mortal coil in as quick a way as possible was the most humane thing I could do. Even as an 8 year old child I understood the concept and without glee, embraced the practicality of it on a relatively regular basis.

From what you've quoted, only if it is TSO'ed and has been packed by a rigger within the last 120 days.

More importantly - that American does not equal Christian.

You can't deny the logic. If the first amendment says no laws respecting the establishment of religion (paraphrased) then that means no laws making Chrimbo/Easter etc a national holiday. Not saying one or the other is right, just acknowledging an apparent inconsistency. Of course, there may well be ways to distinguish between the letter of the first amendment and the legislation in question – religious zealots are always comming up with them.

Advantages: F111 is slightly stronger and slightly easier to work with. Disadvantages: It wears out quicker by comparison to ZP (if I can put it like that). In the case of a reserve pilot chute which is only likely to see the light of day something like 20 times in it's life, (that's if it's not actually lost when used in the field), I suspect that the wear issue really doesn't come into it. Therefore we're left with two small advantages... why not take advantage of them? At least, that's my take on it. A rigger may well know different.

I suspect this amazingly cyclic argument is mainly due to difficulties in the explanation of the riggers reasoning. Being entirely unqualified on the rigging front I shall try to explain things already discussed a little clearer. I apologise if I’m sticking my oar in where it’s neither wanted nor needed. What I think these people are trying to say here is that they feel the bar has been raised with regard to gear safety. Whilst your rig is just as safe is the day it was made, that level of safety is today no longer considered to be “safe enough” by a significant slice of the rigging community. Nothing is “safe” in this game... just “safe enough”. Something that was considered “safe enough” 20 years ago is still just as safe as it was back then… it’s just the world around it has moved on so that that same piece of gear no longer falls into that ever so important “safe enough“ category... at least in the consideration of those riggers posting here. If it’s still “safe enough” for you then that’s your personal choice. What riggers here are trying to tell you is that your old gear is in their opinion, significantly less safe than your new gear. That significant difference in the safety level afforded, for them at least, places your old rig outside the “safe enough” category. Were you to walk into their loft they would express that concern by refusing to pack your rig for you. Simply put; in their opinion the design of your gear does not meet the modern standards for “safe enough”. The FAA doesn’t issue directives to tell people where that “safe enough” line lies – it delegates that authority to certified riggers who make that call for them. The riggers on this board have given their opinion about the design of your rig. They have told you which side of the “2004 safe enough line” they feel it falls. They’ve explained that they think the 2004 safe enough line is different to the “1984 safe enough line”. If you want to take that advice on board that is your personal choice. If you want to keep looking for a second opinion who will tell you your rig is “safe enough” by today’s standards again that is your choice entirely... but if you were to simply discount the choir of voices you’ve found here who express their concern for your safety, that would indeed be foolish.

Last words? "It shaw were purdy for a while there tho"

I would have abandoned my landline a year or two ago if it wasn't for the fact that there is no line rental on it as it comes free with the high speed internet and cable TV package I pay for. There's never anything on the bill - certainly less than a £1 or so per bill.

Could it simply be then that "Winglet" sounds cooler (and therefore more marketable) than "Fence"?

That's when you break out your camcorder and take an hour out of your life to follow the workmen round their route. Would have taken the wind out of a councillors sails.

I was planning on posting a couple when I got home tonight. Haven't had the chance yet as last night I met up with a load of the guys to have a drink on Pete. Ended up swapping stories and reminicing about the time Pete and a couple of us were faced with a Police helecopter search light looking for us in one of the fields near Perris... only to turn round and find Pete already legging it back to the Bomb Shelter calling for us to get our arses in gear and follow before we were seen. That an the 2 hours he spent trying to dry his mobile in the flames of a smudge pot after being pulled into the Perris pool by one the WARP students he was helping to dunk. He didn't care about the mobile - he wanted to get his wifes number off it so he could call her in the morning and let her know he was fine. Attached are a couple of pics I was able to pull off a friends album on the net, but I know I'll have better at home.
