  2. This is what you are looking for. Cheap, comfortable and fit most helmets. Sparky http://www.chutingstar.com/skydive/flexvision-goggles My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. You are happy with the reserve.....loaded at 1.65? Then putting a 120 main in a container built for a 107 max. shouldn't bother you at all. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  4. You are wrong......there are no 9 cell reserves. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  5. But they are designed to handle that speed and weight. Using TSO-C23d for reference. SAE AS8015 Revision B 4.3.4 Strength Test: a. Test weight = Maximum operating weight limit x 1.2 b. Test speed = Maximum operating speed limit x 1.2 However, test weight must be not less than 264 lb (119.7 kg) and the test speed must be not less than 180 KEAS (333.4 km/h) for reserve and emergency parachute assemblies; for dual harness parachute assemblies for test weight must not be less than 480 lb (217.7 kg) and the test speed must not be less than 210 KEAS (388.9 km/h). That gives you this. 1.2 Maximum Operating Limits, General: 1.2.1 Dual Harness Reserve Parachute Assembly: The maximum operating weight need not be the same for each harness; however, the maximum operating limits must not be less than 400 lb (181.4 kg), 200 lb (90.7 kg) in each harness, and 175 KEAS (324.1 km/h). 6. There is a difference. If the pin is pulled the flaps can slide off the closing loop without much resistance. With a cutter the loop is cut at the bottom, in most cases, and the loop can become trapped and prevent the PC from clearing the flaps. This is most likely to happen if the loop is too long. This was addressed by at least one manufacture with a SB changing the location of cutter. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  7. Eight days in the same care with Squeak could be a life altering event. Ten months in the same house would make a train take a dirt road. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  9. You are paying the packer to “pack” your canopy. Part of “packing” a canopy is setting the brakes and clearing the slider. It has nothing to do with “consideration of others”. Packers are leading jumpers around by the nose and jumpers are buying into it. By you doing the breaks and slider he can pack faster and make more money and you end up paying full price for the job. 10. I voted other so I guess I owe an explanation. As Tim was saying, it depends on your definition of a fuck up. I left home when I was 16 and didn’t have much to do with the family after that. I didn’t enjoy what they did and they didn’t know what it was I did. I got a divorce, didn’t have any kids and I don’t do holidays. Now that I think of it the only one from my immediate family I have regular contact with is my ex-wife. We’re pretty good friends. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  11. When she sticks her tongue out, she looks like the illegitimate child of Gene Simmons! Chuck I seem to be the only one who has no issue with her at all. I think the song is a pretty decent song. and her antics at the music awards are just publicity which seems to be paying off for her. As to the wrecking ball video clip. I'm more than fine with that. It's tame by comparison to many of the clips that were around in the early 80s. I can’t believe skydivers would get their panties in a knot over what some bubble head does. It seems pretty calm when put up against what went on in the old “Bomb Shelter” at Perris. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  12. I think Airtec makes too much money off of that system for them to give it up. They don't seem to care that they're losing customers to Vigils specifically because some of us don't want to deal with that crap. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and figure they've done the math to figure out that they make more money off of those services than they would off of selling units to the people who jump ship just to avoid them. Do you have any idea how much money Air Tec makes off their maintenance requirements or how many customers they are losing because of it? I doubt it. Name one electrical/digital device you have owned that lasted 20 years. Have you ever given any thought to the fact that Vigil states the life expectancy of their unit is 20 years but they only offer a 2 year warranty? 13. Do you think it is the “Ninja Boots” that are making you so wobbly in the tunnel? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  14. They can have that effect, but AFS-100 would set that straight for the twelve gray haired ladies in the witness stand. MEL If you apply them a law you won't have to deal with little old ladies. Seems like the smart way to go. If they come after you, you will lose. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  15. That appears to be an old ParaFlite canopy of some sort. It has the trailing brake lines. My first square had those. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  19. My gut tells me ( I actually do not know ) that they probably build them to some military specification. Then it comes down to a mix-and match. And that is why I wanted my own specific TSO, so I could build my own and no one could say anything about it. JerryBaumchen Jerry, You are right, Capewell doesn’t have a TSO on any of their Life Support Products. They are built to: “The Capewell Parachute Release U.S. Government Approved” “Capewell's Life Support product line includes Ripcord Pins and Grips manufactured to strict military requirements.” I was involved it the testing of their Frost release system. In my opinion they tested to a higher standard than TSO. Sparky http://www.capewell.com/frost-release My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
