  1. What's the cross street? Wow. Good luck to him. Think you should call the cops before he gets killed? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  2. One of the top 5 and the median income is only $122,500? I expected that that number would have been higher in a city (or metropolitan area) the size of Chicago. "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  3. Really? The death penalty is mentioned numerous times in the bible, isn't it? That whole eye for an eye thing? Someone with more knowledge of religion will probably come along and contradict me, that's OK, I haven't studied the bible since gradeschool. As far as stem cell research goes, I don't know Kerry's position, but I do know that we can get stem cells from more than just aborted fetuses. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 4. They don't if you tell them not to. When I found out that the USPA was selling my information I called and asked them to stop it. There's also a checkbox on your renewal form that will stop them from selling your personal information, use it. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  5. Most companies are required to provide their customers with a privacy policy detailing what will be done with your personal information. Does this apply to food delivery companies? Is there potential for a legal battle here? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  6. Hey hey hey! Age is no excuse. There are plenty of folks on the DZ who will be happy to take your money and drink your beer. Pay up, little lady! - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  7. MM, I noticed that you never answered Ron's question. It was a fairly simple question requiring a fairly simple answer. Have you had a friend die while skydiving? All it requires from you is a yes or no. Ron, I suspect that those who harp on the "it's safer than driving to the DZ" bandwagon -haven't- lost a friend skydiving. They've heard stories, but it's always someone else - far away, no face to put to the name, no memories, it's always "the other guy". These folks have never been closely involved with those who played the game, and lost. Just an observation. Edit: Ron, my answer to your question is yes. Unfortunately. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  8. It's all about context. You chose to take offense where none was intended. By doing so, you've made yourself look like an ass. Here's a quote I posted in Talkback (RIP) several months ago, I think it sums things up my thoughts about your response to Wendy rather nicely. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 9. ***************************************** hummm.... YOU just did... Thanks for sharing your true colors. Are you really going to go after Wendy for writing "nigger", "chink", "spic"? There's no context there that suggests hate or even stereotyping, there's no reason to be offended. Only a true jackass could find offense in Wendy's words. You're not a jackass, are you? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  10. What in the world are you talking about? What message or idea are you trying to get across? I am so confused. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  11. OMG! I just spit soda all over my computer! Thanks so much for the laugh! For the record, there is no "jewish race". Judaism is a religion, not a race. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  12. What's your plan, Kallend? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  13. Right. Instead we'd be wondering why the massive multinational force installed government isn't working. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  14. Great. And if my uncle had tits, he'd be my aunt. What's your point? Nobody has ever disputed that fact. They do. They have a mandate from the people of the United States to run the country in the way that they think is best, this statement isn't limited to the Rebublican party - it includes ALL elected officials. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 16. According to this page, exactly none. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  17. Or, they could do what they SHOULD be doing in the first place. ASK. Ask your dealer. Ask your friends. Ask the manufacturer. Ask someone. I think it's just silly for someone to buy a canopy going on nothing more than a pretty ad in Parachutist or the marketing drivel on a manufacturers web page. Don't you? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  18. Kevin, I wasn't talking about the 9/11 hijackings; just hijackings, and people, in general. While I wasn't speaking directly about them, you're right, they will have an influence on all future hijackings. I hope. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  19. No Bill, not France. Quote the ENTIRE line next time. Nevermind, I'll do it for you. I said 'we', since I am American, it stands to reason that I am including the United States. Though I think it applies to other nations as well. My point was that our society over the last decade or so seems to have softened. We're mostly content to be told what to do, how to do it, and where to do it. We no longer stand up to those who wrong us, and who threaten us. We've been told for ages that we're better off giving people what they want. We're a nation of people who would rather be uninvolved than to stand up for what they believe in, for what they deserve, or for what is right. That's enough fow now, I have to get back to work. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  20. It's not something as simple as a knife or a broken bottle that allows a terrorist to take over an airplane; it's the general attitude, and willingness to comply, of the people on board. I suspect that if we hadn't spent the last decade or so raising a nation of pussies that this wouldn't be a problem. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  21. Respectfully, nowhere in that post does Dan, or Atair, say that the Cobalt is unsafe below a loading of 1.2. I don't agree with Atair's somewhat aggressive marketing toward low-timers, but it's not fair to accuse him of saying something that he didn't. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 22. Where was it said that a Cobalt had to be loaded at 1.2 to be considered safe? I've been here long enough to read pretty much every one of Dan's posts, I don't recall him ever saying that. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  23. Sheesh Dave, didn't you know? Australia is a civilized society. No need to worry about defending yourself. Really, you should keep up on these things. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  24. Exactly. Why exactly are people discussing this particular event? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  25. A little bit of reading on the Electoral College. here here here. and of course, here - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
