  1. Be careful with that yeast. Too much of it can mess with your digestive system and make for some pretty nasty poop in the morning. Anyhow, the idea is to just be careful with the poor and leave the gunk in the bottom of the bottle in the bottom of the bottle. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. Nekked packing

Bah. Save youself some postage and just post them here. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  3. Since you're boiling at least 6 gallons of wort, I'm going to say 'no, it's not large enough. A friend who does all grain regularly boils between 6.5 and 7 gallons in a 10 gallon kettle. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  4. No, none of it is OK. If a school has room for 1000 incoming freshmen then they should be taking the top 1000 applicants. In other words, he who puts forth the greatest amount of work receives the greatest reward. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  5. Like you I do not agree with everything that GWB does or says, however, this is the first thing he's done that I agree with completly. It's the first time he's done something that I don't need explained to me. It's the first thing he's done that I feel is just right. Good job George. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  6. Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale (Barleywine.) The last of a small batch left over from early 2002. Time to break out the World Wide Stout I think. I'm gettin' drunk tonight. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  7. Someone who was actually committed to the idea of taking their own life probably wouldn't mind. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  9. The longer I stay in this sport the more of a wuss I become with regards to cold weather. I don't think I'll jump in weather much below 45F. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  10. Distance driven: less than 100 miles. Distance flown: I'm guessing close to 1000. I hate driving. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  11. Oh, there's a story behind that one. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with me. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  12. I think once you understand the purpose of the beer line you'll really know the answer to your question. The beer line isn't there as a tool to get swoopers to provide free beer to the DZ, it's there as a safety reminder. Think about what's on the other side of the beer line at your DZ? My home DZ has planes, sometimes moving, on one side and a paved road with a lot of pedestrian traffic on the other. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  13. How many jumps do you have? I'm going to guess since you're asking the question that the answer is 'not many'. Since you haven't jumped in 6 months you should probably get some rental gear at least a size up (170) for your first few jumps. Better to come in slow and bored than hot and broken. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  14. Like your whuffo friends say about skydiving? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  15. Sweet. :) Welcome to the club. I swear, one of these days I'm going to marry some drunk fucks at the dz. That'd be cool. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  17. Amen to that. That's how I learned it 7 or 8 years ago. For the record, 7 or 8 years ago it wasn't quite as refined as it is today, man pages sucked, the FM was virtually non-existent, etc.. etc... If you're not willing to stick with it and figure it out there's always Windows. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  18. I'm usually wondering what I can do to absolutely max out my track. I want to go fast and far. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  20. Nice, but I think I'd have to replace all that wheat with regular malt. My God! That really is insane. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  21. You know what I find funny? Gay men who go to great lengths to point out any comment made by straight men that just might suggest latent homosexual urges. Fishing? Looking for converts? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

    Rantoul

You're right about that. PhillyKev looked into renting an RV for our trip to Rantoul last year. The rental, for I think 9 days, was going to run around $1500. They claimed it was suitable for 5 people, but I'm skeptical about how comfortable those 5 people would be. While flying with my tent, airmattress, pillow, etc.. was a pain in the ass it was a lot cheaper in the long run. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

    ramdrive

Actually they're especially fast if they don't have to write that RAM out to swap. Of course if the memory allocated to the RAM drive forces other critical apps to either page or swap (there is a difference) then the benefits might be lost. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 24. It also makes things convenient for you. Because of that online database I don't have to worry too much about forgetting my USPA membership card when visiting a new DZ. A new DZ can look up my info immediatly if I forget my card, I think that's a Good Thing. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  25. No, it isn't. This might be the kind of thing that the NSL should do. The USPA should do what is founded to do and that is to keep skydivers skydiving. OK, explain to me how an RW program for the PP keeps skydivers skydiving? Just because the USPA might have lost their way in some aspects isn't a license to lose their way in others. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
