So I've got know, what did you write in your email? I couldn't bring myself to write L&B a letter for any reason other than to congratulate them on the design and manufacture of such a great product. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Careful there. This isn't about being behind on a few payments, this is about being so behind that bankruptcy protection is necessary and being investigated by the SEC and being investigated by the IRS. Any one of these problems by themselves may not be an issue; put all of these problems together and we've got some significant financial difficulties. If we're going to compare Fayard's problems with the problems of other DZs then let's be sure to compare apples to apples. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Why does it make you sad that you don't konw that many black people who jump? Would you be happier if you knew more? Hmm. Could it have something to do with the fact that whites, by a large majority, have significantly more disposable income than blacks or any other minority (at least in the US)? I think it could. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

What not to do (how the Aggie almost died)

IIRC, my original training was decision by 1800, action by 1600. Both seem reasonable to me. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
You can try and put the blame back on the canopy, but in the end it was your inability to deal with an emergency situation that put you in the mess you were in. It wasn't the fault of the inanimate object, it was you. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I disagree. I think your story is a good example of how a normal skydive can go from good to almost dead when the jumper stops paying attention to his surroundings. It wasn't the canopy's fault that you ended up where you did at the altitude you did. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Oh yeah? Who died and left you in charge of Department of Weights and Measures? Civility is for the birds. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

From the USPA SIM Why is your decision altitude 300 ft lower than that recommended by the USPA? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
I thought this was a good read. http://www.opinionjournal.com/columnists/dhenninger/ - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Christ, you did this before you had 60 jumps? The person who sold you that gear is not your friend. Good for you. They probably saved your life, or at least a nasty broken bone or two, or three. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

You didn't tell us how many jumps you have; I'm guessing from the question posed that it's 'not many'. It would be a better idea to buy a rig that won't kill you for a long time. All three are acceptable deals for an experienced skydiver. All three are a ticket to the hosipital for a low time jumper at your exit weight. Look for a rig with a 170 sq/ft main and reserve of similar size. Sure, it won't be 'cool' as the smaller rig, but it won't make you as hurt either. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Do you realize that your spring break collection contains more pictures of half (and sometimes even fully) naked men than it does women? I think I didn't see a single boob! Damnit man! - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

We need to find some video of Stacy's first 500 landings. All of them ended with this beautiful FKF (feet, knees, face) maneuver. Somewhere is a video of a Stacy FKF landing while in the background we see a student with TWO jumps land crosswind and stand it up. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends.
