I restate....a tandem instructor does not want his student to wear any kind of hard helmet. A frap hat is the most covering they would want them to have donned. Just one wack from a student's head when they exit the plane, or try to arch for the first time, or the double pump on opening... could remove the tandem instructor's teeth! Helmets aren't worn by tandem students to prevent injury to the tandem instructor's face. Likewise, a camera on a student's hand would be a possible hard impact device if the student whipped their hand around in freefall or especially on opening! However, do you believe that the BOD (or Congress for that matter) will govern with what is good for the general populace, or what is best for their own interest? You see, it swings both ways. I believe that if we have individual voting, then it averages out to what is desired for the whole. No matter what USPA says, however, it is the Tandem Manufacturer's say in who can jump with their tandem instructors on their gear. The highest denominator wins, hands down. ltdiver PS Wish someone had shown me this when I started flying camera. One DZ let me fly with their equipment (they had their own TSO), but I found out the hard truth when I came back home. Perris holds hard and fast to the rules, and their safety record stands by it. I still shudder when I remember reading the Incident Report a few years back when a son killed his mother. He had paid for her to do a tandem. ok....I was eating a bit of dinner.... So other people can look it up, go to http://www.relativeworkshop.com. Their Vector Tandem Manual says exactly what my IRM says. Page: 95. "A: Participants qualifications For any relative worker to accompany a Tandem pair, the following criteria must be met. 1) Relative worker must have a minimum of 500 relative work skydives; or 2) Relative worker must be either a current Tandem Instructor or a current AFF Jumpmaster. 3) Relative worker must have made at least 100 relative work jumps in the last year. 4) Cameramen must meet all the above guidlines, and in addition, must have at least 100 camera jumps." ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Yes, these are all frame grabs from my TRV10. I took 35mm pics of the dives on Saturday, but those are still represented here on the web by corresponding video frame grabs. Never had a scanner for my Mac. The old scanner that I did have was for my pc, and it is indeed dead (both pc and scanner). Sorry about your having to work the next 2 weekends. Huh? ltdiver btw, my parents paid their taxes for public schools for other children, -plus- paid for private school for myself and my 3 older sisters. We lived -very- cheaply but had all our needs met. And, when we were old enough to have a job ourselves, we did. That money went towards our education as well.
