I am a co-worker of Michele's. She was well loved and respected here. Part of the tragedy is that she had just taken a promotion to move to Texas. Her life was definitely headed in a good direction. I am honored to have spent what time I did with such a dynamic individual. Ironically, since most of us had just said our goodbyes, we were lucky enough to have recent closure. I know some people have been disturbed by the inquiring posts that are discussing "what went wrong". Michele worked in quality assurance and I can tell you that she would have been trying to find the Root Cause and Corrective Actions so that this kind of thing could never happen again. Kicking it around is how we find closure sometimes. There seems to be something in the human mind at times like these that wants all the details. To somehow get their arms around the whole thing by knowing as much as possible. Please try to be tolerant of folks just wanting to find out how something this tragic could have happened, especially given how careful we are about jumping. I understand that there will be a memorial jump this Saturday, at sundown, at her old DZ. There will also be services at a Funeral Home in Cartersville at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5. I know that feeling. I used to have a tight slippery suit I bought off of somebody else and that is all I did the entire dive is try to get back up. Really like my new Bev Suit. I've got the huge grips and cordura booties. Slows me down dramatically. Doug Glover also taught me a better way to get big. Basically, you want to grab one of your wrists and push down on the air while dearching hard at the waist using your abs and butt. Holding your hand keeps you from letting your arms get above your head and also helps you push down.

I meant to say i was procrastinating at work by spending time on dz.com. it's definately a good thing. but i'm still torn between chicago and quincy. and if something bizarre shuts down SDC and Quincy, ok, i'll go to lost prairie. :) So anyone else out there thinking about hitting both, one long weekend each? btw, how do you get rid of being a "newbie"?

I keep trying to make a new profile (I would like to add a gear review). But when I submit the info form - I get a Fatal error and a bunch of code on the screen. What gives?

Every page dealing with the forums or usernames is incredibly slow... a few other people I've talked to tonight say the same thing. I've tried to log in twice and it just puts me back to the same page I was on. Maybe hitting 3000 users and 19,000 posts (what was it 45 days ago, 1200 users and 8,000 posts?) is just too much for the server or bb program here. Starting up the chat program may have been the straw to break the camel's back - remember when HH hedged at the chatroom suggestion, pointing out that it really loaded the whole site down?
