I sure hope I ain't talking shit, but enought is enough.... New dealers want to charge that much markup and anyone that's selling a used one thinks everyone's a moron and wants to sell an old Cypress that needs some sort of checkup so the only fool is the person that would pay the asking price. I have a friend that bought a new Cypres a couple month's ago for $800 (unfortunately I'd have him get me one but he's over in Ash-can-istan). I'd pay $800 for a new Cypres (any takers?)
-
Yea, but what's dealer price on a Cypres these day's, from the mumblings I've heard around the DZ it's in the high 600's, so at $850 that's 20 to 25% mark up...... Just pisses me off cuz I'm in the market for a new Cypres right now but I find that a bit excessive.......

Yea...if only I had more time, but I gotta go to work........

Dude, that first photo was obviously photoshopped, here's the original so the story can get set straight....
-
Amen! Is there really such a lack of competent packers around the DZ that firing her or not firing her is an issue?
-
Oh yea, I learned my lesson with this when I got my modified Safire back from Hook. I went from 400 foot openings to about 800 foot openings. On at least two occasions I found myself looking at my altimeter having it read anywhere from 3000 to 2500 feet, pulling, and not being under a fully opened canopy til 1500 feet. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.... :)

Whenever I do jump Sabre's I roll the tail & get those stow's nice and tight; I'll even re-pack the damn thing myself if it wasn't my own pack job before jumping one. I want the pocket slider as extra "assurance" and with the hopes of getting it to slow down the openings even more. I think both Hook or Terry would be good choices to get it done with and I'll contact them privately... But does anyone have any experience jumping a Sabre or similar with a pocket slider? What should I expect?

I just became the proud owner of a Sabre 150 which was built in August of '92. I want to put either a larger slider on it or get a pocket sewn on to the current one. The current slider is 19" by 30" (also see the attached picture if ya want). I need to know if I should go with buying a larger slider or getting a pocket sewn on, which is my current inclination right now. I also need to know where I can send the slider to get a pocket sewn on as no one at my current DZ feel's like sewing????

Or if you want to see the personal ad that I think got this whole thing started...

Downloading a 70MB movie right now on my cable connection and am getting a sustained 825Kbps, much better than the 125Kbps I used to get........You ROCK!!!

My friend's Sabre (built circa 1991) slammed so hard it on one occasion blew out two of the bottom cells and broke four lines. Would have bought the Sabre2 but a used Safire was more in my price range.

I like the HH's reply:

I wish the latter weren't true, the only reason I have my current job is the two previous employee's before me thought it a good idea to post whore on company time....

send em here: http://www.deadmike.com/AteMyBalls/fate.jpg http://www.deadmike.com/Surgery/index.html then ask for a raise....

Let's see, there's only been two views on the thread, one vote for yes, and mine for no, so way to go E150.......

It's real, here's a link to the contact info for the guy that developed it: http://phonebook.ufl.edu/show.cgi?jpsclerc Beer drinking's the only discernable past-time that seems available in Gainesville, so why not... Although the DZ is only 15 miles from campus, so maybe that has someting to do with it.....

Damn man, deja-vu, I did jump 115 today on a Safire 149 (loaded at abou 1.45; 17th jump on the canopy).......Thought the canopy had openend fully, and accidently shifted in the hardness, putting the canopy in three complete line twists, leaving the slider half-way up the lines but all the cells inflated. I pulled at 4.5K and hadn't cleared the line twists till 3K (although I was willing to ride to down to 2K). Just kinda odd that bad line twists happend to both of us on our #115th jumps (on Safire's). Wouldn't have been good for me to chop it, as it was the last load of the day at about 8:10pm and the sun had already been set for about 10minutes..... My jump #56 cost me about $200, lost the freebag and reserve handle, it's a bummer, but better than the alternative...

None of the Vector III's I've ever jumped had main pin covers that come open durning deployment, nor does my current Mirage.
-
Thanks for the info, I went to the site and filled out the form that was there... What is the actual modification, an extra line off the brake cascade?
-
I just hope Deland's gonna offer 10$ jumps again during the WFFC, I'd be forced to live there for the week.........
-
What's this "performance option" for the Safire......I just bought one and just want to replace only the break lines (they are currently set too short and in pretty bad shape compared to the rest of the line set), is there a better way to have them done other than the regular cascade???

Chopping from a mal with your wingsuit on

Not that this is really the right place to post this, but how many jumps do you need before the boy's down in Deland will let you train and jump a Birdman suit?
