I majored in European Studies and minored in Art History. I have been in the Performing Arts business for over 20 years, both as a technician and an Administrator. My wife is a costume designer by training and is now a Special Ed teacher. A liberal arts education can open doors you wouldn't think about going through. If technology or a strictly business degree is your bag, go for it. But don't short change yourself. Everyone should be exposed to and study the liberal arts. It makes for a more complete human being. Besides, I know all the capitals of every country and what the major export is. Good for parties and lively arguments. I have two terrific girls and they think it's cool that I sky dive, my wife knows after 22 years that I will do pretty much what I want. I have travelled extensively mostly Europe and the Middle East, both of which I liked a great deal. It was a great learning experience. I wish everyone, especially Americans, would spend some extended time overseas. It might help temper some of our baser attitudes. Having said that, I still get a chill when I see the American flag. Personally I just don't like to pack. I can, but for a few extra bucks I get to relax, debrief and help out a friend. The guy who packs for me does a great job, yeah I stow my brakes, slider and re cock my pilot chute, that takes about 5 minutes compared to how long it takes me to pack. I've never had a mal or anything serious occur from his pack jobs. I also like having a second set of eyeballs looking at my gear . And yeah I tip at least a buck per pack. Thanks Jeff.
