Dave, I have bought some black poly cotton from fabric.com and the fabric is really nice and has a good weight to it. The only thing that sucks is that the color available are really limited. I just can't seem to find poly cotton fabric with some cool prints . But this site might be a start for you... Am I the only skydiver enough in touch with my femine side to want to make bitching home made freefly pants??? "We see the world just the way we are...

I am sure i can find some cool looking fabric pretty much everywhere. The thing I am looking for the right type of fabric that will really hold up for a while and that has the right "drag" properties. I am not sure that a 100% cotton printed fabric will stay together after a few jumps. "We see the world just the way we are...

I am glad to know that I am not only one looking for this type of material... I have also gone to a few fabric shop in town but I have not found anything that remotely comes close to what I am looking for. If you go on the tony suit web site, you can see sample of really cool fabrics with super cool prints... There has to be a way to find these fabrics for sale somewhere... HELP!!! Does anyone know a good online source for fabric that I could be used to make freefly pants? Here is the deal. I have designed the patterns and I have already sewed my pants out of cheap cotton fabric and I know everything fits fine. But Now my problem is that I actually have to find the right type of fabric to make the final pants. I read in previous posts that poly cotton is a good material to use in freefly pants and that it holds up pretty good in free fall. I know I can get the cordura and accessories from para-gear. What I am looking for is some cool print Fabric like they have on some tony suits. Does anyone know where I can buy some fabric like that? Or maybe give me an alternate choice of fabric that works well and especially tell me where I can buy it? "We see the world just the way we are...

No I have never jumped with an " instructor". Like I said the closest to an instructor that I ever jump with was a camera guy during my graduation dive. (poised exit, stable belly free fall, waive off at 4500 opening) I did receive some ground instructions on stability recovery and turns... But the first time I went deliberetly unstable or tried these maneuvre, no one was around. luckily I have done about ten 2 ways with different people and I have my log book filled and signed with various maneuvres. Someone told me that it should be enough to fill the profieciency card... "We see the world just the way we are...

I just started packing my own parachute about 5 jumps ago. The instruction I got was from a cool enough packer that took the time to show me how to pack my Tria 150 because I tipped him pretty well. I got about 30 minutes of instructions and after that I packed myself. No need to tell you I was a little apprensive of the openings... So Far all openings but one were good. Packing did not seem to be part of the student course "We see the world just the way we are...

Thanks for the link quade, that looks like exactly what I am looking for... You know I don't think anyone is trying to keep it secret for me but no one really explained the steps to get one... Oh by the way I jump in Lodi CA. I have never gone to any other DZ'z since I don't have my A license yet... "We see the world just the way we are...

This might sound like a stupid question to some of you but what do I need to do to get my A license. I have asked around my DZ on what the requierments to get my A license are and the answers I got were all very vague, like it was no big deal or something. Here is the thing: I have gone through the static line course and I never jumped with an instructor. The only jump I made with someone coming close to an instructor is my graduation dive (8th jump) with a video guy who said “if you screw up you are on you own”… After that jump, no one at my DZ mentioned anything about getting my A license and no one seem to be too concerned about the fact that I don’t have a license. I have now 32 jumps and at the rate I am going I can see myslef getting to a 100 really soon and still have no A license or any clue what needs to be done to get one. Does this story sounds familiar to anyone? Or am I just the only guy out there fun jumping with no license? You input is really appreciated. "We see the world just the way we are...

I recently received my new Wings container straight from Sunrise Rigging and I couldn't be more happy with it. Overall, I believe this is the best container around for the money! I seriously researched all the containers out there before deciding on the Wings system. I found that eventhough some other container might equal the Wings system in comfort, quality of worksmanship and functionality, none are as cheap as the wings system. Score a 50% off coupon from someone for cheap and then you will really understand the meaning of best bang for the buck in any container systems. Eventhough I got my container straight from Sunrise Rigging at a discounted price, the customer support, and the product I received was far from being discounted. All in all, this a great product from a great company! You can't go wrong with Wings system!

Also, I was impressed with how great everyone at the DZ was! I like everyone. I like most everyone too.. But I think the popularity of a woman on a DZ is nothing to compare with what a new guy can expect I mean most people are cool... Some just have their ego and balls get in the way of being nice... I know I haven't introduced myself to these forums, But I thought I would give my opinion on the Lodi DZ as it is where I have gone trough the static line program last January. What really attracted me to Lodi was the price of their programs. 500 bucks for the static line course and 1000 for the AFF. I personally went for the static line course as it was the cheapest. I would definetely recommend Lodi if you are on a tight budget! I have search around before signing up there and I could not find a cheaper place anywhere. The fact that the DZ is not a USPA member should not stop you from considering them. But to be honest I have to mention that the pace of the static line course there is not for the faint hearted. I don't know if my experience is unique but between the time I signed up at the counter and the time I was dangling from the strut of that Cessna for my first jump, only 2 hours had gone by (instructions and gearing up included). They don't provide radio guidance, but the landing area is huge so it would be hard to screw up even on your first jump. My instructor there was top notched but it would have been nice to be given some time to assimilate it all. After 3 other PCRP's I was cleared off for free fall. I then did one 5 sc delay openings, one, one 10 sc , and one 15sc. After that I was taken up to 13500 feet with everyone else for my last 3 solo jumps. So to make a long story short, if you are looking for a cheap deal, want to be up in the air quickly and don't mind the extremely fast paced instructions... This definetly the place to do it. I am now working on my A license and should obtain it shortly... let me know if you want more details. I would be glad to tell you about my experience there.. "We see the world just the way we are...
