  1. hehehe....where in MN are you? Some places are better than others, the farther north you go the better the locals are at driving on snow and ice, mostly cause they drive on it 9 months out of the year. When I was younger they didn't put anything on the road until after the blizzard cause the rule of thumb was, if it's bad enough to close the highway you shouldn't be on the road anyway. 2. It's a very thin smooth layer of ice cuased by things like freezing fog or drizzle that looks black on the road, the only way to see it is by the reflection of the car infront of you on the ground, or in my case since it was night, the reflection of the car infront of me's lights. It's really hard to see, which is why so many people get into trouble. Windcatcher - I hate being cold too, so Denver was a good compromise. It's almost always nice, and when it is cold and crappy I know the snowboarding will me good. Fly it like you stole it!
  3. So on our way to CA in the middle of NV at about 4 am I recognized glare ice on the road because I knew the signs from when I was growing up so at the next exit I pulled off the road to nap until the sun came up and I'm glad I did. http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/nevada/2005/jan/26/012610083.html Now I won't bring up the detour we decided to take to get around the accident. The harness is a good start, it would just need some mods for doggy rock climbing. Fly it like you stole it!

Your cat's a WHORE. What even funnier is when you are calling the dog over and the cat comes hauling ass and beats the dog. Fly it like you stole it!

Hmmm...I don't think Derek started on it yet, but I better make her one so she doesn't have to climb up the wall after me without a rope. That scared the heck out of me when she started scrambling up the rock fall after me when I was looking to see of the climbing area was on the other side. Our girls are definate momma's babies. I'd say we should meet up at the dog park by mile high so they can play, but since they won't play with other dogs cause they think they are human it would probably be a waste of time. Just to add I also have a cat and a bearded dragon and I have to say the dragon is probably the coolest. Talk about "it's all about the food" this little guy will eat the mango rind if you don't cut up the fruit fast enough. Fly it like you stole it!

There is a lot of truth to that, but there is at least one dog breed who is absolutely devoted to his master. An Australian Cattle Dog, "Blue Heeler", is an incredibly good friend. I have to agree, Fox is not food motivated, she is family motivated. She actually won't go in the kitchen to eat unless one of us is in there with her, she just wants to stay with us. It drives her nuts when we are at opposite ends of the house cause she can't figure out how to get both of us in the same room again. (herding doesn't work on us. ) Fly it like you stole it!
  16. Hawk suits www.hawksuits.com Me wearing my suit http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=266056#266056 P.S. I'm not wearing shoes in the pictures, the booties are much tighter. Fly it like you stole it!
  17. OMG how adorable, I was actually looking into a cat or an Australian Cattleherder dog. Your dog is such a sweetheart!! Wow!!!! I want a dog that is intelligent, big enough to protect me but not actually a large dog breed if I get one. I would bring the dog to DZ's though, and I haven't gone to one in awhile so he may be a regular at it once I find one nearby that I like. As long as he is friendly, okayed by my DZO and stays by my camper & out of the landing area the it should be fine, right? (I just haven't had the best luck with any of the local cowboys so far...) Try a blue heeler mix, I have one mixed with a german shepard and she is wonderful, and so good looking. At 10 years old my vet doesn't beleive she is a day over 4. http://www.jumpergirl.com/fox.html Fly it like you stole it!
  18. No offence, but not everyone can afford to take time off from work or pay to go to PIA every year that it happens. Fly it like you stole it!
  19. Hey PM me if you ever need some chick tips and advice on gear and stuff. I've done tons of backcountry hiking and climbing and have enough gear to outfit a small army. Fly it like you stole it!
  20. What size container and reserve? Fly it like you stole it!
  21. So we tried several different ways to reproduce what you are showing on the 2 of the 3 rigs we have in the house. Mirage MXS/PD113 Javelin RSK/PD113 Mirage Pin protection flap closed Completely unable to get the top flap to stay folded over even when tension was on the microline and forcing the flap to be folded at the stiffener. Pin protection flap open While we could get the flap to fold at the stiffener we were unable to get the flap to stay folded and hang the rig from the micro line. So I'm going to say this one is inconclusive. Javelin Stiffener plate almost reaches the reserve container (about 1/2 inch) so while we could fold it over we could not get the microline to stay snagged. I'm calling this one inconclusive because the OJ that is in the bathtub getting a bath the stiffener has about 2 inches to the reserve container and at 1st glance looks like it could possibly duplicate the problem. Once the reserve is back in it we will test it also. So at first glance it appears that the size of the rig makes a difference due to the width of the siffener plate. The wider it is the easier it is for it to bend when folded which is what seems to "lock" it in place. This also means that while we couldn't duplicated it with the 2 small rigs we have you may be able to duplicate the problem with a J4 or M4, so YMMV. *disclaimer - No rigs were frozen in the making of these test results* Fly it like you stole it!
  22. I see that the pin protection flap is closed, did it take a lot of force to get the bottom of the flap to bend over like that? Fly it like you stole it!
  23. Sounds like the DynaSoar that Derek had for jumping with floaty butt students. Heavy cotten double zippers down the front, it looked like new when he got it, but he got it from some guy who had brought a box of "junk" to the DZ to see if anyone wanted it. Fly it like you stole it!
  24. hehehe...that reminds me of the windstorm we had a month or so ago. There were gusts over 80 mph at the airport that is all of a half mile away from my office. Anyway there was stand and gravel swirling around the parking garage so I opted to park in the open lot, what I did though was park between tow huge SUVs to block the wind and it worked. There were quite a few blown out windows and a light pole blew over slamming into a few cars, but my car didn't even have a scratch. So I say please buy more SUVs so my car can be safe during wind storms. Fly it like you stole it!
