  1. So did anyone pick a night? Fly it like you stole it!
  2. Piano, Flute, Piccolo, trumpet and sax. Althought to be honest I haven't played anything since my mid 20s. I still have my Flute (open holed), but it is in need of tuning and TLC. I'd love to have a piano, but we just don't have the room in our house. Fly it like you stole it!
  3. Toilet training wouldn't work in our house for several reasons. 1) The cat likes to play in the toilet water. 2) The cat likes to drink the toilet water. 3) The dog likes to drink the toilet water. Pretty much the cover needs to be closed on our toilets at all times. Fly it like you stole it!
  4. Well I have the other type of cat box and while it works well, it's a pain in the butt to change waste bins. I'd love to know if this thing works also, well and then if it does I'd have to figure out how to fit it in my tiny bathroom. Maybe pookiebear would let me put it in the basement bathroom. Fly it like you stole it!
  5. This is why I like to have all of our servers on GMT time, no clocks to change and it doesn't matter where in the world the server is the time is always the same. Fly it like you stole it!
  6. front or back flips? I was a gymnast so when I get tired or something doesn't feel right I go back to my roots and tuck up and use momentum rather than flying. Which causes me to sink out, luckily I'm solid in the attitude I'm trying to get to and get get myself out of trouble. Fly it like you stole it!
  7. How were you exiting? I've come close exiting in a sit, but other than that I would think it would be hard to hit your shoulder. Fly it like you stole it!

Hey did you know a Rex Spell? He graduated there the same year. Fly it like you stole it!
  10. Just finished cup 4 and am starting to get the itch for another one. Fly it like you stole it!
  11. You aren't slow, you might be like me and want to get really solid in every aspect of flying. I won't let myself move on to the next level until I'm proficient at the level I'm at. I've even taken a step back to get better at backflying at high speeds so that when I cork from a sit I don't move out of my quadrant (super important when you are doing a 4-way sitfly). Fly it like you stole it!
  12. That's Hot! Fly it like you stole it!
  13. Let me second this comment. As for me I traded in my skydiver for a tunnel instructor, as luck would have it, he is the same person. Fly it like you stole it!
  14. There are a bunch of different ones, just do a google search for meal assembly kitchens.
  15. You can buy everything you need at REI or any store that carries rock climbing gear. Fly it like you stole it!
  16. nope just received a new toy today so I had to check out all the bells and whistles Fly it like you stole it!
  17. ok posting is a pain in the butt, but reading posts seems to work just fine Fly it like you stole it!
  18. As Derek likes to call it, it's 4 weeks of flying hell. Your best bet is to call Skyventure Orlando (since you are in FL), being able to fly in the tunnel has nothing to do with being an instructor. Fly it like you stole it!
  19. Switch Fabian with Rusty and I agree 100%. In one 5 min session with rusty I was doing things I didn't actually think I could do. Fly it like you stole it!
  20. It makes total sense that you were fine but hours later you were off your game. Think about anytime you do a new sport, the 1st day out you are fresh and feel fine, but now your muscles are fatigued and need to recover, if you don't give them that time to recover they are weak and sloppy. The rule of thumb I use is actually from a book on increasing your performance in rock climbing. When starting a new sport, give yourself two days to recover from localized fatigue, that is if you are of an average athletic level, if you are of an above average athletic level you will need one day to recover. If you don't give yourself enough time to recover from localized fatigue you can experience central fatigue which can take 4-5 days to recover from. That is for performance training, meaning I was climbing 4 days a week for months on end. Since you are at the tunnel for a short time, I'd give yourself 24hrs to recover between heavy session if possible, if not fly your ass off and work on different things which work different muscle groups. Listen to your body and back off on the new things if you are feeling really tired, getting tired and sloppy can get you hurt. Fly it like you stole it!
  21. That reminds me of when I heard my female dog in the trash one saturday morning. I think she had forgotten I was home or something, but when I came out of the bedroom she was just walking around the corner from the kitchen with an empty scallops bag in her mouth. As soon as she saw me she opened her mouth to drop it but kind of lost the effect when it stuck to her lip and she was trying to knock it off with her tongue. You know she was saying "Scallops bag? What scallops bag?" Fly it like you stole it!
  22. Whatever is in the freezer. I started going to My Girlfriends Kitchen because I don't have time to make meals and was eating out so much I was really starting to feel sick. Now once a month a prep a bunch of meals freeze them and then when needed pull it out of the freezer defrost and cook. As an added bonus I'm saving a ton on groceries that usually end up going bad before I can use them or I'm only able to use a little of it for what ever I'm making and then have to toss the rest. Fly it like you stole it!
  23. If this happened while you were home, then the puppy hasn't earned the right to have free roam of the house. Keep it on a leash attached to you so you can watch for signs it has to go to potty and then rush it out the door. This also helps keeping the puppy out of trouble from doing things such a chewing on cords or thinking the cat is a self propelled squeaky toy. (oh wait, that's just my dog ) Fly it like you stole it!
  24. The adult league can be a toss up, it really depends on how many people show up that night. There was one night only 3 people were there and they split an hour, another night where there were 10 (class was maxed out) and each person got about 6 minutes. So your flight time depends on the night, and with it getting more popular the classes are going to be maxed out more often (although I bet it was dead tonight with all the snow). Booking time with friends can be a lot more fun because you can do two ways and such as you get better in the disciplines. Right now I'm having a blast doing two way and 4 way sits, true pretty much everyone else in the tunnel with me is an instructor or staff but it sure makes it easy when they can compenstate for lets just say some of my less than graceful docks. (Mary you will laugh your butt off of the video of me rodeoing Derek when I was trying to back up from a feet on top of knees dock) No matter what own your time, know what you want to work on communicate with your instructor what you want to work on and if you pay for a coach make sure he/she isn't using the time you bought so they can just mess around. Here are some screen grabs of the video from last weeks instructor/staff session, being Derek's SO means I get to participate in these. Sorry about the quality, but to give you an idea on how long it can take for head down, the head down pic is of Derek, he has a ton of hours and in just the last few weeks has he really started to get solid at head down. Fly it like you stole it!
  25. Replace stand with walking on the net, they won't actually let you stand due to the wind speeds needed. So you have the option of joining the adult league where you pay x amount (you need to call the tunnel for prices) and you will have one hour a week that you share with up to 10 people. Your other option is buying blocks of time, it's $14 per minute so you could buy just 10 minutes and they will fit you with a class you would just need to tell the instructor what you are working on. The amount of time it takes to work on something depends on the person, they will make you follow the IBA progression www.tunnelflight.com so go to the website and get familiar with the skills you will need to progress. For me personally I was sit flying after 2 hours, but have spent the last hour working on transition, docking and advanced sit fly stuff. When my tunnel suit gets here in next year I'm going to start head down, but learning head down requires two instructors or an instructor and a good coach, so it can be more difficult to get started.
