  1. I’ve been asked to coach an up and coming CF team based at Headcorn and they speak very highly of the place. Unfortunately I can’t give my opinion of the DZ as I’m not allowed to jump there as only “local” jumpers are allowed to do CF at Headcorn…. _________________________________________________ Obviously no contest, take them to Nethers. 2. Just go To the DZ and make your own mind up. If it is closest think of all the petrol money you will save rather than going somewhere further away, which might be crap.If its really close you only have the problem of looking out the window to decide if the weather is OK rather than driving maybe 50 miles or so to find out the weather is unsuitable for a day out skydiving. Slating DZ'S is a hobby for some ! Good luck and enjoy whatever you decide. Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!

  5. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Reply To -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is why I asked. All too often students are told "relax!" with no explanation on what that really means. And it means different things to different people. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It does indeed take some explanation. For example, that one can relax too much too. Lower legs bouncing in and out randomly in the air stream, strange body positions on a tumbled exit, etc. One has to apply some muscle power to attain and hold the desired body position (arch and all that), yet still not be rigidly stiff. So shouting at a student like a drill sergeant to RELAX!! isn't correct? __________________________________________________ Relax could just mean the most simplest of things like STOP HOLDING YOUR BREATH. Very easy to say but in a stressful environment not the easiest thing to do,maybe just try and smile about something nice and this may help you relax. Difficult to arch when you hold your breath really easy when you aren't. Best of luck . Steve Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!

  7. HEAT,KT.PAUL OMARA To all Nethers jumpers, have you orerered a rig or any gear from KT,OTHERWISE TRADING AS HEAT OR Paul Omara ? There have been lots of dissatisfied customers who have not got their gear at all or have only got some. Some people have started buying from elsewhere one person alone is out of pocket by approx £5K and another "Naomi"paid for all her gear and is minus an AAD and a res...erve having paid for all her gear in January of this year she has had to hire gear. He is no longer living at his address in Netheravon village and the landlords of his business premises changed the locks on the 2nd November. If you are owed money or know of his whereabouts send me a message. He was last seen in the UK a week ago Sunday by his next door neighbours prior to moving out of Netheravon village. Please email me or send me a message as some jumpers wish to take a group action. If you have any info of current address etc that would be good too.See more Swooping, huh? 8. Just sucks,we have a similar problem with a dealer in the UK. One guy ended up paying for his gear twice, once to dealer 1 and got nothing then bought it all again. Another disabled jumper Naomi paid for all her gear back in January this year and still hasnt got her AAD or reserve so cant use what she actually managed to get, main and container , a year after her first deposit was put down. These people have no excuse being in our sport.Yes businesses suffer due to recessions or just plain stupidity but to be totally ignored in communications which is happening in this case is unforgiveable. And if you are reading this KT,PAUL OMARA TRADING AS A SUPPOSED DEALER THEN I AM TALKING ABOUT YOU. Swooping, huh? 9. The following is from facebook. Our family confirms the finding of the remains of our son, brother, cousin, and nephew in Moab. We are devastated by our loss of such a gifted young man. Special thanks to Moab’s Chief of Police, Mike Navarre, and his staff for their tending to us and Dave as a missing person. We also thank the volunteers at Rocky Mountain Rescue Dogs, Dave’s many friends far and wide, and Ryan Shaw and his stu...dents at Paradrenalin for their extraordinary efforts in searching for Dave. Dave’s loved ones had not heard from him since June 29. On October 23 a hiker found remains in the mountains surrounding Moab. On October 26 Chief Mike confirmed that the remains belong to Dave. We treasure the concern and best wishes of so many young people that were touched by Dave’s smile and sense of adventure. Private family funeral arrangements are in process. Please respect our need to grieve our loss within our immediate family. Blue skies, Dave. You are so loved and your incredible zest for life will be missed. Swooping, huh? 10. "Hitting the water surface is undoubtedly more forgiving than hitting the grass." Water can be very unforgiving so I cannot agree with your statement. Steve Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!

  12. 16 minimum age in UK and even though she had her skydiving A license was difficult to find DZ in USA that would let her jump, she is now 18 so no worries for next year if we get time to go. She is back in the tunnel now learning more stuff and leaving Dad way behind ! Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!

  14. excellent site , in tears reading some of the stuff.
  15. My daughter did tunnel before AFF and it made her AFF an enjoyable experience the only trouble was her skydiving skills were way above her canopy skills. If you have the money get on a canopy course as soon as you can after getting your A license. Enjoy the sport. Steve Swooping, huh? 16. Just as bad as having a job in financial services and being told your qualifications have been superceded and you have to redo the exams to maintain ones job even though have been doing it 21 years. Imagine if they told everyone who had "o" levels or "a" levels or moreso a degree that those qualifications no longer counted cos now most qualifications are modular. This country is just completely f£^£&^% up. Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!

  20. That sucks, it is not uncommon as skydiving is not for everyone. Before you finally decide not to jump go to the dropzone that you booked with to do the jump and spend a day there watching skydivers prepare to jump and watch them land especially the tandems. You i am sure will see lots of extremely happy faces full of elation at having jumped from a plane two and a half miles above the ground. BELIEVE ME i was scared on my first jump one thousand eight hundred jumps later i am still doing it!9jumping that is!),the scariest thing is thinking what i have spent!!! Blue skies Steve Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  21. It really annoys me to see new coaches using a video camera to record their students instead of do a really good walk though and debrief post skydive. __________________________________________________ Why if there is technology available does it annoy you? Students i find love the extra video if it is available and if it wasnt a good tool/aid in teaching why do so many aff courses have video. Of course it is up to the instructor/coach to watch what is going on and to be able to walk it through as you put it but a picture/video sure shows a lot more. Good camera if you can get it is a pc330 or pc1000 of course finances permitting. Swooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!
  22. On top of the tax are the national insurance contributions, employer and employee plus higher earners losing higher rate relief on pension contributions. The lack of tax relief on pension contributions is a double whammy on higher earners cos they will still have to pay higher rate tax on pensions in payment if the pension puts them in a higher rate band. Basically fucked over yet again and hopefully this is the nail in the coffin for middle england voters who put labour in power and has let them ruin the country in a way no government ever has before. For those people contibuting into pension investments the tax treatment by this government is the worst in my knowledge it has ever been. I am an independent financial adviser. Swooping, huh?
