***Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent "Trust" fund and put it into the General fund so that Congress could spend it? A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically-controlled House and Senate. Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding? A: The Democratic Party. Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities? A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the "tie-breaking" deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the U.S. Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants? MY FAVORITE : A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive SSI Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it! Quote Anyone know if all this is true? If so its VERY funny that the Dems have done this.( Except the last one...I think that is very Democratic) "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

That Dumbass Bush and the Intellectually Superior Kerry
Ron replied to Gravitymaster's topic in Speakers Corner
OH come one. It is a little dated, but how many times have you heard that Kerry was smart and Bush was dumb as a reason to vote for Kerry? Several on here said that EXACT thing. I find it funny even if its not current. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 -
Yes, I really know what you mean. One time years ago, I was talking to a buddy of mine about this. He is older and I value his opinion of things. When I had 100 jumps, he had 1,000 and the mentorship stayed even after he quit jumping. Anwhoo. One time I was telling him about some big tragedy in my life and how it seemed like the worst thing I have even had to endure.... His words of wisdom? "Ronnie, You are what 30? Well I am 38, and I can tell you that just in the time difference between where you are now, and where I am...You will feel like you have reached the end, and that this is the worst you have ever felt...*At least* 2 more times in the next 8 years if your life is anything like mine." It does not feel good to think about it, but in my life as I look back I can think of a few cases where I thought it was the worst it could get......And it never fails I can think of another event a few years later that made that one look like nothing...And then a few more years....Well you get the idea. You think that this is the worse it can get? You think that life sucks....Nah, its just the *current* issue. The farther you get away from it...The less painful or troublesome it is. You may not like to hear that...I didn't want to hear it..But if you reflect you will find it is true. We are the same age (OK ya got a year on me), but if your life is anything like my buddies....You have 1-2 more big problems in the next 5 years...I have 2-3. So maybe that will make you feel better...I still got one more than you coming. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Thanks, you guys rock... For some reason it was bothering me. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

OK, know how IE "saves" the fields you enter? How do you empty them? I let some folks use my computer and I would like their stuff off my machine. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Actually I agree with the North, the South had every right to TRY and seperate, but the North had the right to spank that ass back into line. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Yes, since the STATES do not have the right to allow something outlawed by the FEDERAL government. The States NEVER had the right to over rule the Federal Law. OK, but that is a seperate issue. If marijuana is good or bad was not for the SCOTUS to decide. What was their job was to decide the legality of a State to make a law countrary to the Federal Law. You may not even like HOW the SC did it, but the rights of the State do not trump the Federal powers. What about if I want to grow Coke for personal use? What if I can show that Coke makes me feel better, and lets me lose weight, and perform my job better? You need to separate the issues.... If you want to make Pot legal...fine, but getting the State to try and over rule a Federal Law is not the way to do it. Using anecdotal evidence is not the way. Maybe the best Government in the World, perfect? No, but better than most. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Who cares how long it has been legal? I am only 32 so for as long as I can remember it has been legal. PLUS it was not as much as an issue 30 years ago. Did I label you as anything? Nope. Nope, I recognize the right of a guy to smoke, shoot up, or snort whatever he pleases...I ALSO (unlike you) recognize the right of an employer to hire who he wants based on whatever he chooses as long as the criteria they use is legal. The main thing is while I recognize the right of a guy to alter his mind...I also recognize the fact that they must take RESPONSIBILITY for the choices they make. If that means they can't get a 60k a year job since they like to toke on the ganja...Thats the choice they made. Is this a personal attack? Like it or not we ALL are judgemental...Including you with that statement. Do you hate yourself? Or do you only hate those that do not agree with what YOU deem as acceptable? You need to accept that not eveyone is gonna agree with you. That does not make them evil and out to steal your freedoms. If being pounded in the ass effected your job performance then I would care. As far as I know pole smoking does not make you a space case. So how about I agree with hireing people who I think as best suited for the job? And I feel drug users are not suited for MANY jobs. Sure sounds like a personal attack. You have called me small minded and a hypocrite. Saying "this is not a personal attack" does not change the attack. It seems to me you only think YOUR way is the correct one...Who has the small mind again? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Who cares? He asked a question, and I gave the best answer I could find. The number of X to Y does not matter. The number of X's increase IS. You might be able to claim that pot use is the highest ever (pun intended) and THAT might be a factor to look into. You said there were NO clinical trials...Thats just Bull Shit. There are 13 and you are wrong. YOUR DR can't write a script for it, but that does not mean that there are not CLINICAL trials. And your source of the "problem" is a PRO legalization lobby group. Facts are facts, you said there were no studies, and there are 13. You are wrong as hell again, Go fish. Well, what is this then? Do YOU? "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Well we both agree that you are free to do as you please. We both agree that for everthing in life you choose to do, you have to be willing to pay the price for your actions. I am a big fan of personal responsibility, so is my employer. I am free to leave if they don't uphold their part of the deal, they are free to fire me if I don't uphold mine. BTW I don't have drug tests anymore at work....I am in a staff position now. I still don't use. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

First can anyone tell me why a person with 66 jumps total is jumping bare foot on a new canopy with only 2 jumps on that canopy? Anyone else not surprized something went wrong? Wear shoes till you can land where you want...Hell wear shoes all the time. How does landing barefoot make it so you can't flair? From the student program flair to AT LEAST half brakes. It is a great learning environment. I never said otherwise. Just because it is accepted does not make it right. And how about the teams Hammo coaches that he will be directly commpetting against...Is it fair for them to have to jump against their coach? Then make it legal the legal way. Thats not a medical test...Its a poll. Not the same....Even then if you want it legal, make it legal the right way. Again, make it legal the right way. Again make it legal the right way. How many times do I have to say this... I COULD NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT POT!!!! IF YOU WANT TO MAKE IT LEGAL....FUCKING DO IT. BUT DO IT LEGALLY. as it stands now it is a FEDERAL LAW, so a State should not be able to over ride it. 2 issues folks, don't try to drag one in to justify the other. The only person on here that had a good argument was Lawrocket...The rest have been crying about the medical uses...AGAIN I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT. If it such a damn good drug that will cure everything...make it legal. BUT DO IT LEGALLY. CA did not do it legally and the SC made a ruling that was correct. Seperate the two issues. So you say, so it must be true. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

If so then it will be over turned...Unless you have no faith in the system. I don't see it as weak. A State tried to over ride a FEDERAL LAW. States should not be allowed to do that. You may not like HOW they did it...But still a State should not over ride a FEDERAL LAW. This was a slicky boy attempt to legalize pot in a liberal State full of pot smokers in the hopes that if it was approved for "medical use" it might one day be approved for recreational use. Wanna make it legal? Feel free, but do it legally. And like I said, I don't give a shit...If it is so damn good, a "wonder drug", then get the tests done to prove it, and make it legal, legally. Yes, when it is a FEDERAL LAW. States should not trump the Federal Government. Oh God, I hope we are done with Clintons...But ya know what? A FEDERAL LAW is a FEDERAL LAW. States should not be able to trump a FEDERAL LAW. People should quit whinning and make it legal the right way. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

If it is so effective make it legal by going through the proper channels. Like I have said before and I'll say it again....I don't give a fucking rats ass about Pot. The SC did its job when a State tried to over rule a FEDERAL LAW. Two seperate issues folks. 1. Medical uses for Pot. There is very little if any GOOD uses proven by medical trials. If you want Pot to be legal, try getting some good studies done. Hell, if you just want to blaze up get it made legal to saftey meeting yourself crazy...I don't care. 2. A State trying to over ride a FEDERAL law. THIS is what the SC prevented. They did their job. THIS is the topic of this thread, not the uses of POT...I could not gve a rats ass about the uses of POT. You want to make it legal? Great do it in FEDERAL court since it is a FEDERAL law. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

OK how about this one? On HUMANS and in MD. Go fish. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Do they effect work performance? I don't think it is the companies job to "find" them. But the company has the right to fire them if they are breaking the law. There was a poster that was supposedly fired for posting from work. Thats the companies right. My company will not let me be a Moderator on a board. Its in the rules. If I reak the rules and they fire me, thats my fault. Will get you fired at my job. Will get you fired at my job. Will get you fired at my job. Will get you fired at my job. Don't think it would get you fired...We have gay people that work here. If it can effect the job or the company....The company has a right to fire you over it. If a company wants to have drug testing...It is legal. They should be allowed to do it. An employee is always free to find a job that fits them better. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

Sure it is, it is even legal. Its called my right to employ people who are not criminals. If you have a company feel free to have "bake" meetings. Thats your company, and your business. My company, I will employ who I want within the law. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

In both cases the State would try to over rule the Federal Government. Should be...Well its not. Change that first then the SC's ruling would have been different. Violence is an epidemic...Guns just make it easier. Who cares about side effects if the very ill people need the pain killers? Like I have said several times...I don't give a rats ass about Pot. But it is Illegal, and the SC made the right call. Dont like it? Then try to change it. "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334
