-
I'm gonna order one.....I talked to Jen at NZaerosports....she answered a lot of my questions...and told me they will make it any size I want...I'm going to have, them make me a 199....that will wing load at 2.25
-
How many jumps do you have on it....how is it on a windy day( does it seem stable ).....1000 ft openings...wow.........thanks for all the input I really appreciate it.
-
um, not exactly. It's been out since at least 2003 (that is when the first user review was posted here on DZ.com). Sorry... I should have edited that part......fixed

Here's what I found on the Firebolt and wing loading: The FireBolt can't be compared directly to any other canopy. When lightly loaded (.5 or .6 pounds per sq. ft.), it can be a beginner canopy. When heavily loaded (2.3 pounds per sq. ft. to 1.7 pounds per sq. ft.) it is a high performance canopy, that will please the most aggressive canopy pilot. canopy. When loaded from .85 pounds per square foot to 1.6 or so, it is a great all-around canopy, capable of slow flight with lots of stability and great toggling range.

Hi Ben....sounds like you're doing things right....wing loading at 0.85 sounds ok...did you buy this canopy or are you renting.

Is there an issue with the slider hanging up on the Firebolt canopies

Have you ever jumped a sabre 2. What size Safire 3 are you jumping at what wing load....thanks
-
Ty Mr. Burns.....I was thinking the Stiletto may be a little to hot
-
Thanks for the advice
-
I would try it if I lost about 15 - 20 lbs....Lol the biggest Zulu is a 172...my exit weight is around 245-250....I'm thinking a 190 is about as small as I want to go for now...just getting back in the sport after being gone for over 10 years....back in the day I jumped a Sabre ( 1 ) 190 exit weight was around 260-265.

I'm trying to find the best opening, fun flying with great flare
-
Thanks Flex it's definitely between the safire 3 and the sabre 2...I will demo both before buying. Do you think the aerodynamics is better on the safire 3 (cleaner air foil) ?
-
Thanks for the video....what a beautiful place to jump....wow....do you get a lot of ruff air coming into the valley...I am looking hard at 2 canopies...the safire 3 and the sabre 2....leaning towards the sabre 2...thanks again

need advice on what Size Rig to get. Or not get
Hunterbeav replied to HammerinHank's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Hank...I would not wing load much over 1.1 to begin with...but if you have both rigs available I would jump them both....and then decide...I would not get in a hurry to go small...take your time...my fist rig was a Pd 260...my exit weight was around 260lbs. I jumped that rig for about 50 jumps...then went to a Sabre 210...exit weight was about 250lbs....jumped that for 200 or so jumps then went to a sabre 190..my best advice would be take your time. -
Hi Raftman....safire 2 how are you wing loading it...how do you like the flaring on the canopy....I was researching the safire 3. Thanks
-
Thanks Joe....I thought about finding a sabre 1, but I'm gonna go with the new....right now I'm gonna look for a use container and reserve and put a new main in it....really leaning towards the sabre 2....I'm gonna try to demo a few different mains and make my final decision that way.

Thanks Shaun...great to hear all the different perspectives
-
Hi Terry....we used to do hop and pops at 3000 and do a 5 to 6 second delay...open at 1800
-
Thanks Chad....I really loved my sabre 1
-
Thanks Harry for the great advice....I really appreciate the welcome back!! It's great to be back. So much research to do lol. I can't tell ya how much I missed it
-
Hi Shadeland....thanks for taking the time to respond....I'm looking for all of it, Softer openings ( my old bones would definitely like that), good flare, fast turns and consistent openings. You'r right about the sabre 1 having hard openings....I used to roll the nose to get softer openings....and even then a little head down open were tuff....I've had a shoe come off in opening.
-
Ty for the video...so that's a pretty typical opening?
