Ryan airs allowance has gone up ever so slightly... 20KG checked and 10Kg hand luggage. theres possibly 8 of us going, so if anyone knows any tricks to getting more weight on for less money, id love to hear them!! Ok people this is the big one! Skydive Sibson in the UK will be hosting a mass wing suit weekend on the 8th and 9th of July. Jari K from Bird-man inc is coming over to organise and get his flock on alongside Sibson’s own fleet of BMI’s and BMCI. Aircraft already confirmed for the weekend are the Dornier G92 and… a SKY VAN!! Yes, that’s right, tailgate fun!! There will be Bird Man demo’s, first flight courses, coaching and load organising available all weekend. If you don’t quite have the jump numbers to try a wingsuit for the first time, but really want to get into it, come on down! Jari will be bringing demo IMPACT suits with him, which we will be able to give you a first flight course in. There will be a big BBQ and much drinking merriment on the Saturday night with plenty of excellent, on DZ, accommodation (now with new mattress’s!) to crash out in. The plan is to work on skills and smaller formations on the Saturday, then put them together to build some nice big ways on the Sunday. If you’re going to Germany for the record attempt, you absolutely can’t afford to miss this opportunity to flock the weekend before the big one! At your experience level i would absolutely look at getting the neptune. Its designed for skydiving and has a nifty log book function. I jump a Suunto Vector and the numbers are very small, in fact, if i'm free flying (very rarely) its almost impossible to see the digits in free fall, however if i'm wingsuit flying (all the time) i have no issue with it. Under canopy i think the Suunto is great and seems very accurate, but as the neptune offers a canopy function doing pretty much the same thing, theres no reason to pick the Suunto over it. In fact, if you look in the instruction booklet for the Suunto, it states in big letters, DO NOT USE FOR SKYDIVING. or something to that effect... I also jump with two audibles and my eyes have an idea of what the ground looks like at pull time, so it works for me. Also, as it's always on my wrist, i never forget it!
