Yes, court is expensive but in this case it is worth it. I have a daughter who no longer knows me. I still pay my child support through the state. The reason being that I do not trust her. I now have two states trying to collect for the same child because all the women that work for those agencies are corrupt as well. The reason my daughter no longer knows me is because I was in the military and an arrangement could not be met. I could not even make it to the divorce and so therefore I basically got screwed. My ex has moved around and changed states and has tried to say that I did not pay. Luckily I have all the records and so does the state she was living in at the time. She has kept my daughter from me and I would not try to introduce myself now because it would cause turmoil for my daughter. Your case is different because you have been there the whole time. I had a total hip replacement in June of 2001. The Doctor did not cement mine in. If you plan on Skydiving I highly recommend that you have it done the same way. It takes longer to heal but in the long run it is worth it. The reason being is that if it needs to be replaced again because of wear it is easier. I am not a Doctor. I am only describing to you the way it was to me. I waited 11 Months before I started skydiving again. I have made around 200+ jumps since I started back. Although I have jumped in some pretty extreme temperatures I cannot relate these days. It was 86+ on Saturday when I was jumping. Even got in a nice night jumps. I do not necessarily agree. I have been in the military for 15 years and teach many different things. I took the very first B.I.C. course and was very disappointed. It treated individuals as though they had no education background at all. Just a way for the U.S.P.A. to suck some money from people. I will be taking the Coach course only because I did not update when the change was made. The idea is a little discerning because there are many people in the sport who teach or have taught classes for a living. Once again the U.S.P.A. is searching for ways to obtain more money. I believe there should be a way as someone else has said to test out of the coaches course. Especially for people who are teachers and most certainly for former instructors. I have seen students get so frustrated trying to get their "A" license. I believe that it is a good thing that it is a little more dificult but to be forced to keep paying & paying for coaches and instruction all the way to an "A" which is now 25 jumps is absurd. We are going to lose interest in the sport. It is just too draining on the wallet. Now I know just because you have the coaches rating you do not have to charge a student but I am sure that most will out of spite. I mean how is a student supposed to get off student status and buy gear if they are spending all of their cash on rental, their slot and a slot for the coach. Assuming that a student does everything flawless they are going to end up spending upwards of 4-5 THOUSAND dollars. Is this really fair? some of us older jumpers need to look at this. I am a full advocate of safety. I believe in the newer "A" card. I just do not think it is fair for them to have to pay for all of the coaching. As far as the sport in general then I would suggest going to U.S.P.A. like ervyone else has or try a googgle search and see what you can come up with. I have jumped a Racer for 7-Years now. I personally have never had an issue with mine. I know the person but very little about this incident. It is just a personal preference though. That incident was like winning the lottery. The questions might be plenty if there were kinks in the cable. Was it from a previous reserve ride with an RSL and the particular rigger did not suggest replacing the handle or what? I am glad to see you made this statement. Just because a person has a riggers ticket does not mean that they know how to pack every container style. A Racer is more difficult and I have paid more to have it done. Another thing to look at is currency. The particular rigger might not be current. I know a person who had thier Wings container packed by someone up North and the reserve is sitting so low in the pack tray that the main is difficult to fit. I have suggested that the reserve dhould be re-packed. I do not want to sound like I am taking away from a rigger. I know that they work very hard to get that ticket and it is a thankless job. Most people do not treat their rigger very nicely from what I have seen. In the 10+ Years I have been jumping I have only had 4 different riggers pack my reserve. You would have to have a pretty damn small foot to get it caught in the newer D-Handle styles. There is also a loop design that I have seen on some people's rigs. Just my thought on that. Then again there are positives and negatives to everything in life. The best thing to do is write all of them down and make an informed decision. I am not sure. It is supposed to be 85+ here in Fl. I don't think we jump after it gets into the 60's Seriously though follow PhreeZone's advice. I got severly injured in '99. I took a two year breake to get fully recovered. Something which most people do not do. I went to the gym and rehab to get all the mobility and strength I could possibly have. I will never be 100% again as I do not have all the original parts I was born with. I am very very close though and unless you knew about my injury you could not tell. I am not jumping as much as I used to b/c of some financial issues. Hopefully that will be somewhat resolved soon though.
