What Is With the Sue Threads?

Right on Bill! Don't these people get it? I mean that is like a student who doesn't listen to the instructor then blames that person when they get hurt. I mean you can spin any incident into anything. Get real people this sport can KILL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you cannot handle that then quit. Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! You have not even been in the sport long enough to know anything about operations at the DZ. When you actually become a Skydiver come talk to me. That means get some travelling experience and have seen many different operations. All of ya'll bring up these points about staff being messed up. Since all the lower intelligence forms take everything at face value I will explain. A reputable operation with professionalism is not knowingly going to put your life in danger. The same goes for sexual harrassment. There are people on here who have seen many more operations and know what I am talking about. You will know a substandard operation when you see one. Believe me. I know there are some places that even drug test. I don't have a problem with it since I am still in the military and get tested on a regular basis. That is with everything in life!! I knew many would love that last statement. Ya'll are just too predictable. Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! "HESITATION CAUSES DEATH!!!" Yeah we had one of those one time. If I remember correctly it was an 80 y.o. lady. We watched that video for a long time and laughed our ASSES off. The good thing is that she still enjoyed the skydive and did not complain.

Sunday morning, 8 am, the neighbor starts mowing the grass
jmpnkramer replied to skymama's topic in The Bonfire
You said it not me! Seriously though what do the rules say? My Condo Association says 8:30 before noise is allowed to be made. I am suprised I have not gotten in trouble or the nasty gram yet. They keep making new ones and when they get to be too much I guess I am going to have to buy a house again (Not in a Development Either!) Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! Allright there "National Inquirer" The first thing I said was that there is nothing wrong with 8 A.M. on a Sunday. Some people are already at Church by then you know. Just because you are wanting some Beauty rest. 8 A.M. is not early. Who chose the tightly packed neighborhood with rules? YOU DID! Deal with it. Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! This I do know is true. The issue is that both of ya'll know people at Bragg that can help you progress faster. You are still working on your career. I spent 4-Years down at Fort Polk. I begged for Bragg. In hindsight I wish I would have stayed at Fort Polk. I was in the know there and had a bunch of people watching my back. I would have made Seven fast and probably retired. Looks like it is time to do a pro/con list and see where to go. Best of Luck Little Lady!!!!!!

There is nothing wrong with 8 A.M. You live in a community with rules though so what do they say about noise? Have you even read them yet? Goto the next meeting and cry about it. I usually get up at 4:30 A.M. on work days and no later than 6:00 A.M. on weekends. Usually it is 5:30 A.M. I wake-up after 4HRS of sleep. This is different from? Just because you hide it and most don't detect it. Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! "HESITATION CAUSES DEATH!!!" Out of those choices I would take Bragg. You are already in the know there and have connections. Screw a change!!!! I am thinking of going back on active status and that would be one of the main gigs I want. I did coma across an angle at McDill recently though. Trying to see where that pans out. Good luck to ya. What Is With the Sue Threads?
jmpnkramer replied to jmpnkramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This would be your fault for not doing a proper gear check!!!!!!!!!! If you are incabable of doing so then ask a rigger or instructor to help you learn!!!!!!! Do you know the mental state of everyone you jump with? Are they on drugs or drunk? Are they depressed? If one of them injures or kills you what then? The sport is dangerous. The DZ is not knowingly going to put your life in danger. I mean seriously. Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! "HESITATION CAUSES DEATH!!!" jmpnkramer replied to jmpnkramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This may be true but then why are you jumping? What if someone sued you for all of your mistakes? I mean the one instance quoted was contaminated fuel. Well maybe they did not know the fuel was contaminated. Then the pilot did not handle the emergency properly. Well does everyone handle a malfunction properly? Maybe then the gear manufacturer should sue the individual for not following proper procedure! Accept it or walk away. Once again I say: Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! jmpnkramer replied to jmpnkramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yes it is! No one is forcing you onto the aircraft. You can request to look at the proper paperwork anytime you wish. Although most likely you will have no clue as to what you are looking at. Either accept it or don't get on the aircraft. Once again read that waiver. Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! "HESITATION CAUSES DEATH!!!" jmpnkramer replied to jmpnkramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Even these instances are on the waivers from what I have seen. You are taking for granted that the aircraft and the person in charge of it are doing what they are supposed to. It is part of the risk. As unfortunate each one of the incidents you stated are we assuming the risk even in these. This is True J.K. but unless an individual is going to become qualified to do the proper inspections prior to take off it is a risk that we assume. Honestly, How much do most of us know about the aircraft we get on? What about the faith which we put in our riggers? I personally have only had 4 in Eleven Years but still. I Have been severly injured jumping. I blame no-one but myself. I put myself in a bad situation and was lucky to live. The problem is that someone always wants to blame someone else. The situations you presented were no doubt carelessness on the part of others but we still assume that risk. Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! "HESITATION CAUSES DEATH!!!" I mean really people!!!! If you cannot handle the sport then stop jumping all together. I am sick and tired of hearing all of this. One on a person who obviously does not know how to pack or does not realize that they are opening in a track! Almost all canopies have the same ratio of hard openings. If you want to be sure of an opening then pack for yourself like I do. Quit Bitching and blaming the canopy for your lack of skills!!!!!!!! There are always obstacles on the ground. If people learned how to fly a canopy instead of trying to look cool then maybe they would be able to handle these things. Once you learn how to fly a canopy you should be able to land it almost anywhere!!!!!! Bottom line is, as there was a thread on it, you had better be reading that waiver you sign!! You are releasing almost all of your rights! If you cannot accept this then do not jump!!!!!!!!!! Just like some people do not like there picture taken. Well, That is on a bunch of waivers as well. It must be all these new poeple to the sport because I do not recall of this wining B.S. Years ago!!!! Accept all that goes with the sport or leave it!!!!!!!! Laters, . USED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are still learning and will have some sliding landings. More than an experienced jumper. No need to spend the money on a new suit that will get all worn out more quickly. Get on the classifieds here and elsewhere. Call Ralph. Goto the DZ. Heck they may even have an old student suit. Best of luck.

would you Sue the canopy manufacturer
jmpnkramer replied to Tinkerbelle's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Every canopy has hard opening from time to time. I do not keep up with the ones that supposedly open harder. There are several different methods to packing which can slow an opening. Not only that there are things that can be done to the slider to slow the opening. I would not sue a manufacturer for a hard opening. That would be ignorance on the purchasers part. Talk to your rigger and ask how to slow the opening. I know several different methods but I am not an actual rigger and will not put any suggestions since I do not have the rating. On the otherhand. If a manufacturer knowingly put an unsafe canopy on the market that fell apart or used substandard material then that is different. Should we sue the manufacturer for malfuntions? I mean I jump an eliptical and there are times when it just twists up. The price of jumping a small eliptical. Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! "HESITATION CAUSES DEATH!!!" When did you go over 1.4 W/L??
jmpnkramer replied to frankiebrina's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well you obviously did not see this at the bottom of the page. I understand what you are saying but sometimes people cannot put info out there without others trying to use it for an ulterior motive. That is cool that you have done some travelling. The more you do you will see people who do not like to advertize. Paul is good. Definitely as cool as ever. -

Maybe when you actually travel to different DZ's and meet people you will understand that not everyone wants there information out on the internet. There are reasons for everything. Maybe because you are not from this country it is hard to understand!!!!!! Laters, . The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! "HESITATION CAUSES DEATH!!!" This poster is not a troller I can assure you! He is Staff and is truthful about what he says. He chooses to remain anonymous for personal reasons which is none of your business. Always remember that not all of us know each other personally. Make sure you have your SHIT Together before you call someone a TROLL! Your not even in this country so you don't count! Although I will entertain your answer. It is not that someone tries to outhook anyone. This individual is very good at it. He knows how to fly a canopy PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just because the two of you do not have the skill set don't be jealous!!! As you can see he does not change canopies. He flies the same one and knows its characteristics. That is not to say that he could not fly another but would probably be more conservative on an unknown canopy. Each canopy has its own quirks. Once again I DEFEND this person because I know them personally. I have worked side by side and the individual has done a bunch for me. I hope to work with him again. He is a Great Guy!!!!!!!!!!!!
